when you use this type of gasket remember you have a little leeway by either pulling it tight to make it smaller or leave it a little loose to make it fatter in the channel.

This was just what I expected. It is a dark gray color, but not black. It is strong and feels heavy. I used it to fill a gap between a black stovepipe and the mounting eye to keep drafts down.

I was looking for something to sit between a stainless steel charcoal tray and a wood roasting box. This fit the bill exactly and was hard to find locally at a decent price. Amazon had a few different sizes and this one, as another reviewer mentioned, is great quality and a light grey color.
