I had to replace my remote control (dog chewed it) and the servo controller. The controller simply plugged into the exact location as the old unit. The wire connections are two different sizes; therefore, you can not plug it together incorrectly. Also, the wires on this replacement unit are about 12 inches longer than my original unit, which came with my fireplace logs.
The remote control synchronized perfectly with the controller. The entire refit took less than 10 minutes to install. This was a very simple "plug and play" procedure when replacing an extisting model SR-1001.
