We got this fireback very promptly in the mail and it fits our fireplace perfectly. It's a great piece the deer design shows up when there's a good amount of flames to light it from underneath and it gives a nice finishing touch to our fireplace. There is one issue, though, but it's not with the item, it's with the photo here on Amazon. The description clearly states that this item does not come with feet. But neither does it come with the little "tabs" on the bottom of this thing in the photo. The box this came in had a photo of the item on the front if it, but in that photo the item did not have the "tabs" on the bottom. I called the seller and they were very nice, but were also not able to send me the "tabs" since none of the firebacks they have in stock come with the "tabs" that's why they described it clearly as NOT coming with "feet." For me that doesn't matter this thing fits perfectly into my log grate but if you are thinking this should have little tabs, it doesn't.

The heavy fireback arrieved in timely fashion and as heavy as expected. The three deer depicted were attractively done in deep relief and were it not for a small ding on the black cast iron I would have been very pleased. Weather the minor imperfection was a result of damage in sending or was that way when shipped I do not know and because of the heavy weight I did not consider returning it. It did fit very well in the small fireplace and covered the flaking brick and morter in the rear of the fireplace which was the reason for it's purchase. I have had several fires with the fireback in place. At first I did think the retention of heat from the fire added to the heat reflected from the fire into the living room. In subsequent fires the shiny surface was dulled by the flames and it is hard to tell whether the intended reflection of heat wss diminished. All in all I'm happy enough with the fireback the price was right and although I would not have considered buying it were it not for the ware to the brick in the back of the fireplace it seems to be as advertised and I'm happy with it.

i was not aware that this fireback were only for gas fireplaces, but i fit beautifully in my fireplace and it really looks good. a real conversation piece.

I purchased this fireback as my pre-fabricated fireplace had broken ceramics in the back. This unit nicely covers up the broken area.

Dislikes:

Vendor originally shipped wrong product, but corrected after I contacted via phone. Originally tried email return, but it didn't work as well.

It's a bit lighter than I would have thought, so it doesn't radiate as much heat as I would have hoped, but my fireplace is small and it's a lot cheaper than an insert.
