Did some shopping around at the local big box home stores and several specialty fireplace stores and was fairly unimpressed with the offerings. The big boxes had very limited offerings of quite flimsy and cheap looking sets. And while the fireplace stores had great offerings, the starting prices were in the high $200s. So I was left looking for something in the middle not cheap, but not breaking the bank as well. I also wanted something with some heft like the toolsets I remember my family having (whatever happened to those I wonder).
Anyway, the Uniflame set offered a good compromise it was a good price, solid construction, and a classic look. I might have wanted it be a little heavier, but it was close to what I was looking for in a toolset. It's made in China and I would have preferred made in the US.
All in all, a set that offers a good pricepoint and good quality.
