I was trying to find something to block the light from the pilot in my master bedroom fireplace, and this really didn't do the job. I left them in the fireplace anyway... ended up building a black metal box around the pilot which did the job. Problem solved.

I used these as a base for a gas fireplace that is upstairs and in which we will not be burning wood.They appear realistic when viewed from a few feet away and with some wood chips, platinum embers and volcanic rock the fireplace looks good on those winter evenings without the smoky smell in the bedroom
