This humidifies quite well far better than the tea kettle we were using. At two quarts, capacity, an overnight stoke of the fire will about empty it. Wish it was about one half quart larger. It steamed off almost to the bottom once, due to my forgetting to keep tabs on it, and got so hot the enamel on the interior bottom blew off with a pop. No real damage, since that will always remain under water. It is also difficult to see how full it is when topping off, so keep a hot pad around, and don't drop the ceramic cover.
