The color of the wood is exactly like the picture. Easy to assemble and very sturdy. I also had purchased the matching end tables and now considering buying the matching sofa table. One thing the description did not tell you, it has adjustable feet to set it level on any surface. The only bad thing I have to say is about the allen wrench they send to assemble the table, it is so poorly made it is just enough to do one table. I needed to use a new wrench with each table I put together, but that is a bad tool not a bad table.

I was a happy camper with this purchase. (I created my screen name when I wasn't so much.) It's beautiful, sturdy, and easy to put together. My only hang-up was stretching the "stretcher bars" (that connect the legs at the bottom), so my tip for that is to attach the legs loosely at first, and then tighten them once the stretcher bar is finished.
