We had to buy this to keep our retard dog from wanting to jump into the fire place and commit suicide. It worked like a charm. It is a very simple and beautiful design. The only reason I did not give it five stars is becuase the screen has some blemishes which was not worth the hassle of returing it. It is hard to see the blemishes. You have to look for them.

All my local stores like Lowes and Home Depot consider these to be seasonal items and they did not have them in stock. I purchased a new home in May and like another reviewer, my dog wouldn't stay out of my fireplace. I needed a screen NOW. I was shocked at the one local garden store, the cheapest screen was starting at $699. A friend paid $350 at another store. This one is pretty basic but that's what I was looking for.
