Received fairly promptly form vendor. Installed yesterday, was very simple and straight-forward. Took only 30 minutes and that included banging-out the old, rusted internal damper. Adjust wire-guide bar to center the damper in the opening, checking that the door closes, than just drop down the stainless steel wire and silicon the damper in place. Drill into the mortar brick to attach the wire-guide stop/handle and you are done. Easier than thought! I'm happy. Works great. No more cold air blowing down the chimney.

I bought this for my 8x13 wood burning fireplace chimney tile. I figured it would work even thought the product is 9x13. It did. I was able to install it in about an hour. My only gripe is that I don't feel like the seal is tight enough. The damper closes all the way, but due to it's design, a very small amount of force can break the seal. Overall, I am happy with the damper and would recommend this to anyone looking for a chimney damper. It immediately stopped the draft through the chimney in my house. It is much better than the standard damper that was in my fireplace before.

I previously used this product insead of the $3,000 quote I received from a chimney sweep for a missing damper. Knowledge is power, this is a perfectly good solution and I would recommend it as an improvement rather than a replacement.
