Log starts ok. Doesn't put off a bad odor or anything BUT resembles a candle burning. In no way shape or form does it ever look like a raging fire. If you are looking for a mild glow from the fire place and not a warm fire then this log is for you, other then that I recommend you stay way away from it. Also leaves a huge amount of black ash from the majority of the log that does not burn.

These logs work pretty well and do burn quite long. Compared to some others I've had (made from ground coffee beans)these seem almost a little damp and take slightly longer to light. Not a big deal, but a slight difference from some others I've used. I just want to say that these logs way outperform Duraflame. I cant wait until these are on the shelves of my local hardware store for easy access. If I saw these at Costco on the shelf next to a duraflame or java log, the Green Log would be my first choice. They smell better, they are actually carbon neutral instead of just claiming to be a sustainable product like its competitors do, and they LAST LONGER!Thanks
