At first, worked perfectly... I've had this for a little over 30 days now; probably have used it 25+ times out of those days. My husband has been noticing the back legs basically have gotten too hot & melted down, becoming even with the ground. Just ordered a new & different grate :( from different company, hopefully iron will sustain the heat??

Product is generally as described but not made in USA 'Made in China' is clearly stated on the attached label. The grate bed sits lower than my old grate, I hadn't realized this from the description. The grate appears to be well made, but the surface for putting wood on is only 13 inches wide on the 18 inch model. The legs do taper out to 18 inches. i got this grate a week earlyer than estimated. nice and sturdy. i searched amazon for days,and this was chosen for the price, design, and all around quality. if you are looking for a grate of this design, this is your grate.
