I've been using these for many years and am now about to restock. A single 2x2 inch block will light a full sized log in my fireplace, so no need to have kindling or newspaper around. They don't flare up fast either, so you can light one, place it by hand on the fire grate, then pile logs over. Fire starts in 5 minutes or so. Very compact and inexpensive, unlike similar products in home improvement or fireplace stores. It took me a while to realize how perfectly they light charcoal in my chimney-style starter for the grill. These make good gifts too, for Christmas or as a house gift. A useful, inexpensive, practical product.

the blox work like magic! One small square is enough to get a fire to catch in our woodburning stove without messing around with kindling. Just stack a few logs strategically around/over one sq of blox, light the sq & you'll have a nice fire going in no time. Also great with charcoal for the grill if you don't want to use a chimney starter. No odors. No strange taste left on food--unlike lighter fluid. Very affordable.

I have been using this product for over 5 years to light fire in a relatively large wood burning BBQ smoker. I typically use only one square to start the wood burning. No fuel smell on food like with liquid starters or flying residue or smell from using wadded up paper. It's simple, fast and reliable. I usually order several boxes because I never want to be without the starter. They work well for starting charcoal fires in my grill or camp fires.

We have used these for years, for starting the charcoal grill as well as fires in the fireplace. I bought a case of them which finally ran out, and have just bought another case, which should last for years. We have a fire pit now, so I think we will use them there, too. They leave no bad taste on the food, they are made with all non toxic ingredients, and I really appreciate that, since I don't like using chemicals around my food. I have seen other products on the market, but have never bought any but these.
