First of all, I really appreciated the other reviews, so I wanted to be sure I helped out, too. I'm so glad I ordered this and I love it. But, it's important to know that it scratches/dents very easily and that the diagrams are not correct. I put the outer part together myself, which I absolutely hate doing. It wasn't bad at all though UNTIL I got to the fireplace install. This is when I scratched and dented things trying to figure it out and was sweating profusely-it was not easy. There are no written directions and the diagrams are WRONG. The biggest mistake was showing the horizontal rectangular open space on the screen at the TOP of the diagram when it actually should be positioned UNDER the fire at the bottom. The correct picture would have made it so much easier, obviously. You also need to push the whole fireplace in from the back, then pull toward the front, which they don't tell you. You definitely need 2 people to do this.

I hope this helps as I know it would have helped me tremendously. Dimplex, if you are listening, please change your diagrams and include some written directives!

So...I started using the heat function on the fireplace. It turns out that the horizontal opening MUST go at the top of the diagram to let the heat out. However, when I position it the way it is in the diagram, there is a fairly large space between the entire black screen and the top white shelf. It does not look that great, which is why I originally positioned it the other way, with the opening on the floor side. It fit the space perfectly and looked better. But, the heat can't really escape, of course.

So, I still stand by the fact that they really need written directions and clear diagrams. Things don't fit perfectly when it comes to the fireplace, no matter what you do. I still love it but I do wish the spacing was exact and installation easier-I still cringe when I think of my neighbor and me trying to pull it into place when there was seemingly no clear spot. We were literally pushing and pulling it over weird screws and spaces, praying it would fit. The good news is, I think we lost 5 pounds doing it! ;-)

Worth every single penny! Shipment was fast, they brought it in the door, assembly was super simple and it is absolutely gorgeous in my new bedroom with my low platform bed. The electric fireplace with the glass crystals on the bottom is stunning. I leave it on all night (without the heat) as a lovely nightlight.
