I ordered this because I cannot get the normal gel fuel shipped to my address.. These (together with the media) make tiny little fires that hardly make it over the top of the logs... Disappointed. The system does work though and had no problems.. This "fuel" is odorless. Not sure how dangerous it is. There is no safety cap on here just a normal twist of cap so those with little kids be aware. The "media" you have to buy with this is basically fiberglass.

UPDATE: If you spiral up the media into a cone like shape, the flame is high. On the flip side though it burns through the fuel way faster, and the fuel is too expensive, messy, and time consuming compared to pre-made gel cans.

UPDATE2: I should note that after more research on this product, they say it is super safe, but no-where can I find what it actually is, so take that with a grain of salt.. I burned through about $40 of this stuff in about 4 (separate) nights.. So, I wont be using this anymore... Over and out.

I agree with the other reviewer in that I find this fuel expensive. I like it, though, because of the absence of an odor. I add the fuel to each of my firepots that contain the necessary "media".

When I light the pot the flame begins quite small but soon grows. Initially I had a bit of trouble lighting the fuel but I find that if I allow the fuel to fully saturate the media there is no problem. This may indicate that the fuel is safer than others but I have not tested it by trying to light the fuel alone. I will continue to order this product for myself and others.
