Yes, this is functional and looks okay. But, you can get that for cheaper.

This is NOT entirely black wrought iron. Only the handles, poker point, and tool hanger are wrought iron, the rest is cheap black painted metal (of some variety). I bought this product over other, cheaper black painted metal sets because the description and title state wrought iron which is simply not the case.

The stand is held up straight with a single bolt at one end, so it's doomed by poor design to begin to lean over time. Also, the description says there is a log lifter included. There is not, only what you see in the picture.

Do yourself a favor, and get a different set.

I needed a small tool set to place near my gas fireplace. I wanted

to achieve the look of a traditional wood burning fireplace. By

adding a black fireplace basket and this log holder, the look I

wanted was achieved. The only reason for four and not five stars

is the brush. It is flimsy with too few bristles and looks cheap in

comparison to the rest of the set.

Product isnt the mast amazing poker set ever, but it's a great value for the price. Assembly reauired, of course, but the setup is simple. The tools are durable, and appear as pictured.
