This heater works very well. I use it in my 13ft. x 19ft. bedroom. We do not have heat in our upstairs so I am very pleased with this heater for the heat and also it looks nice. I only used this for two weeks so far.

Cheap 16 Cans of FireGlo Gel Fuel

These cans burn a long time, look great, and I love the crackle, but the smell was very powerful. The smell actually gave me quite a headache, esp. when I go one floor up (the fireplace is near the stairs) where the heat and smell "rise". I got Sunjel fuel in a subsequent order, and while it didn't crackle quite as nice, there was virtually no smell with the Sunjel brand, so I'll stick with that one.

The first thing I would like to clarify is previous postings about the paper not coming off the can. You just need to know how to do it! Simply start peeling at the seam and the entire lable will come off just like a post-it note. The other thing I like about this gel is that is has probably the highest "crackle" effect of all the gels I have tried and that makes for a more enjoyable experience. I'd like to see the prices on gel come down, but Amazon's price is one of the lower out on the market today.

After shopping around for the best price, I ordered the fire glo, for the price it is a good deal, it doesn't crackle as well as the other brand but is still a good buy. The can says it will last for about 3 hrs, mine lasted a little over 3 hours. All in all I'd say I am very satisfied with my purchase.

While the Fireglo Gel Fuel burns very well, the fact that the labels on the cans are extremely difficult to remove make it almost impossible to use. As anyone who uses a gel fireplace knows, you have to remove the paper labels from the cans before burning the gel. Not doing so results in the paper burning, and the unpleasant smell pervading the room. Removing the labels from the Fireglo cans is difficult and time consuming. Before using the gel, you have to allocate several minutes per can to peel the labels off. The glue used is strong and the paper is thin. This causes the paper to constantly tear, and to leave paper residue all over the can.

Although the price is reasonable, and the gel itself burns well, I'm not sure I would buy this brand again. I bought my gel fireplace for the convenience, and having to spend so long removing stickly labels almost defeats the purpose.

I bought two gel fuel fireplaces and in spite of some of the reviews I read decided to try Fireglo because it's made by SEI who made my fireplaces. I couldn't have been happier or more glad I did! The labels are off the cans so you don't need to peel them off, they were easy to light, stayed lit for 3 to 4 hours, gave off nice warmth and glow and the crackling log fire effect is wonderful! I don't understand the odor some people are talking about, there was a slight odor but not strong at all, barely noticeable. I might try other brands to compare, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with Fireglo as far as I'm concerned and I will keep using it.

This thing ended up being even bigger and heavier than I imagined. We immediately noticed a difference in the heat that the fireplace threw off. Unfortunately it does get discolored from the heat and ash but I don't think it's possible to avoid that.

The product as shipped was fine. The problem is that the first fire I had in my fireplace after installation of the fire back produced a crack in it starting at the upper left hand corner and ending at the center. I am still using it hoping that the crack will not advance all the way to the bottom which will render the thing useless.

This log holder is sturdy. I pile it up with oak logs about 1 to 1.5 feet above the handles and it's still solid. Just based on the picture, I didn't think it would be that strong, so that was a pleasant surprise. I also like the fact that the bottom where the logs sit is not a cloth or leather sling like some other log holders. I think it will last longer because it's all metal.

In case the color is important to you, the one I got was not exactly a solid color like the one in the picture, and overall the color is actually about half-way between the color in the picture and the color of copper. In fact, mine appears to be a copper colored metal that was stained with a dark stain, and the stain didn't get into every imperfection of the metal, so it looks a little bit like an antique sort of. I like the actual color better than the picture.

It's a little smaller then I would like but still a good log holder. Is I little more like cooper then bronze but that's ok.

After having two cheaper vinyl log rack covers rip and tear after the first freeze I decided it was time to invest in a good, high quality cover or just give up all together. I purchased this Veranda 8 Foot cover and it is performing superbly in it's first Wisconsin winter.

The materials really are top notch and very durable yet easy to use and not at all cumbersome to get to the wood. The fact that you can use two different flaps is very nice to get at both sides of the log rack. It was easy to install and it fit like a glove over my 8 Foot Landmann rack.

On a side note, this is a very attractive log rack cover, I have actually received unsolicited comments on how nice it is and it isn't even in plain view. While appearance isn't necessairly a prime consideration for an item like this...it definately doesn't hurt.

I recommend this Veranda Log Rack Cover for anyone needing a durable, easy to use cover that looks good too.
