Best Caframo Ecofan GS, Black Deals

I originally bought an ecofan original but it needed over 400*F to work well so I returned it. The gs model starts moving air at much cooler temps and is useful for my kerosene heaters, nordic pot stove and even (carefully) on an aladdin kerosene lamp with the bug guard and some barstock spacers to maintain draft. So stick an oven thermometer on your heating appliance to determine your needs.

The quality (fit and finish) of the fan was very high. It was well packaged to prevent damage during shipping by the manufacturer.

To enable you to compare your application to my experience, I have a Jotul Propane Gas Stove that is made from cast iron, glass front to view the flames and a vented top to guide the hot air into the room. I asked for this fan as a Christmas gift to help push the heated air into the room.

My experience was that no matter where or how I placed the fan on the top of the stove, the fan blade NEVER rotated! I tried front and rear, corners, back edge, ..... basically all possible locations. The fan blades never moved. I checked the temperature of the stove with a Fluke IR thermometer and it was well within the lower and uppoer temperature limits specified for the fan.

Therefore, I had to give it ONE star since it never worked even though it is manufactured very well. I returned the fan to amazon.

I purchased this unit based upon the heat range, 150-300F We have a free standing oil drip stove (EFEL, Harmony) and it is the only heat source for our cabin in Kodiak AK.

Within hours receiving unit we could feel the differance, the fan not only looks good it WORKS!! You can feel the light breeze on bare skin and although the air it moves is not "Hot" it does move the air around the stove, increasing the radient heat throught the house.

Lots of warning's about using this unit on wood stoves or any type that gets above 300F, so make sure of your heat range!!

this ia a great item I only wih it put out more cubic feet on air, you really need atleast 2. Be very mindfull of the heat limits over heating this item will break it, this item is NOT for wood burning stoves

I have owned this fan for three years and it works perfectly. When the stove temperature gets above 100F degrees it automatically begins working. The hotter the stove, the faster the fan spins. The technology which converts heat to electrical energy is fascinating. No power cords or batteries. Great fun and practical to send warm air into the room.

This pot is smaller than I had hoped. 6 inches tall, but only about 5-6 inches wide and 8 inches long. It's heavy as all get out, but gets hot quickly and steams nicely.

I was really hoping this candle would smell like a campfire because that is my father's favorite smell. I ordered it for him for Christmas and not only did it arrive promptly, but it smelled remarkably like a campfire! I was very impressed because I had tried other places and they could not capture that scent. The first time I smelled this candle in action I went seaching for the campfire. Found it contained in a little tin on the dining room table. This candle is not good for roasting marshmellows.

I received this item, and was beyond disappointed. It's a 4-leg design, and one of the legs was a full 5/8" shorter than the others. The unit was therefore totally unstable, or sat on an angle. It was also terribly packaged (huge hole in the box when it arrived, with cheap clear packing tape across it (as though someone tried to repair it). The part inside was ok (except for the leg issue), but the package was in pretty rough shape.

My purchase/return process was pretty smooth from Plow and Hearth and their customer service team were great, but the unit itself was a total disappointment. If you're looking for a solid wrought iron (not powder-coated steel like this thing), look at the "Copperfield 61221 Woodfield Black Wrought Iron 4-piece Tool Set with Ring Handles." It's cheaper, and a substantially nicer set.

The tongs bent the first tome I used them, so I purchased a solid set of tongs for $9 locally to replace the ones supplied withbthis set. Over all for the money it's ok. The price of this vent-free fireplace is good and the mantle is very sturdy and looks great. What I don't like is the flame burns blue (I have natural gas) and looks more like a gas cooking stove than a cozy, warm fireplace. Creates no glow at all. It does warm the house quick and is very efficient.

The shipping was unpleasant, and although quick, the company would not approve a lift-gate to unload and expected me to assist the driver to unload the approx 150lb fireplace!

I'm considering a direct vent fireplace instead to have a more authentic looking flame.

Simple to assemble, simple to install and throws some serious heat, it looks great too. I did not purchase the blower and it heats my 400 sq foot room in minutes. Only small downside is the smell it puts off for the first few hours of operation. Just make sure you open the windows. The manual indicates the smell will burn off after a few hours and it does. I would recommend this product.

We purchased this earlier this year. It looks great on our roof. My only concern is that the holes in the lattice are a bit larger than what I thought they would be. Still, as long as no very small birds or rodents try to get in, it shouldn't matter.
