Other than people who received this product with broken parts, everybody who complained had to have been drunk. Even then, stuff happens in shipping & is not the manufacturer's fault -you are able to return the thing, or probably have them ship a new piece to replace the one that's broken.
All of this being said, my wife & I (I, the husband, am reviewing this on my wife's account because we bought it from hers) redecorated our living room, and this Entertainment Center was part of the new plan. It was very simple & easy & quick to put together (about 20-30 minutes) and looks great. It does not look like cheap plastic & it looks exactly like it does in the picture. The only thing I don't love about it is the backs behind the shelves, and that's only because there aren't holes for cords to go through. There are backs for the outside halves, and one in the middle (behind the drawers), and some things have the cords coming from that side. The cords still move over to get out where there are openings, I think it just would've been nice for an option to bring them out the side they're on. Other than that, the unit is perfect & I am very pleased.
After reading a lot of negative reviews, we almost did not purchase this. That being said, as I was finishing up putting it together I said to my wife, "This was so easy to assemble. If it looks good, I'm giving them a good review." I never really review products I buy, but I really feel like I should because of the unfair, and sometimes just plain stupid, the reviews of this product are.
If you need a TV Stand/Entertainment Center then look at this picture, look at the dimensions given, and if you like it then you can breathe easy between the time you buy this and the time you receive it. It is an excellent entertainment center.

This item is very cheaply manufactured. The legs are PLASTIC and I received the package with three out of six legs broken. One of the shelves was also a bit cracked. I'm 40 years old and have never before seen such a cheap piece of garbage. I'd actually be embarassed to put this item next to my trash can wondering what the neighbors would think. For the money I obviously wasn't expecting a top of the line piece of furniture but this was a complete waste of time and money. This thing had grey plastic legs, half of which were broken on arrival. This is basically 3 pieces of particle board held together with 1/2 inch wooden dowels. The boards don't even have all sides covered with veneer. I wouldn't put this in my house if they paid me. Don't be fooled by the pics. Overall I am pleased with this item. The colors are just what I wanted and match my furniture great. I did find it hard to put the item together. The directions were not clear and talked about labeled pieces when none of the pieces were labeled. However, I was able to figure out how to get the piece together although it took awhile. I think it would have turned out sturdier if I could have followed the directions. However, that being said, I am pleased with how the stand turned out. It seems sturdy enough and doesn't shake or bow in any place. Dimensions are good to pay attention to, as we all know. Me? I figured that it would be 'good enough'. I just needed to store a couple of media components in there, nothing too big. A media PC, a receiver, and an xbox 360. Sounds simple enough, right?So, I got the thing, and put it together. First, it's pretty sturdy. It does have plastic legs, but they're really not bad. For the weight of this thing, they're never going to have a problem. The quality is pretty decent, for sure. The drawers I got are nowhere near the color in the picture, but whatever.
The first thing I noticed after I set it up on its feet? Holy CRAP this thing is tiny. Seriously, it looks like it belongs in a scale model of a house. I'm pretty sure they designed a real TV stand, and then scaled the size down to 80% before sending it to manufacture. It's not just that it's small I mean, we all don't need to store large things, right? but it's REALLY small. The thing doesn't come up to my knee, and I'm not tall. Still not the problem.
I carry the thing to my living room, and set it down. My 50" TV (hanging on the wall, thankfully) absolutely dwarves the thing. Makes it look even smaller. Oh well, no big deal, it's small. I set my media PC in there.... It sticks out a good 5" from the front. /sigh... Oh well, it's not the end of the world, I can just set the media PC on the floor next to it, standing up. Then, I try to fit my receiver. Mind you, this is no high-end, gigantic receiver. It's the cheapest receiver I could buy that did audio over HDMI. Guess what? Doesn't fit. It's TOO TALL to fit on the shelves. Even if it had fit height-wise, it would have stuck out at LEAST an inch from the front, not including the dials.
So, this got moved to one of the kids' rooms. Unless you have a generic, cheap home theater in a box setup, and a 40" TV, this thing is going to be too small for you. Trust me. Trust the dimensions listed. Use a tape measure and actually see what the sizes look like. Check the dimensions of your stuff.
