I loved how this mantel shelf has a drawer to keep the fireplace essentials, remote, gas key, matches or lighting materials! I really liked the 10" depth so I can actually put decor items on top of it, rather than the standard 8" you get with most mantel shelves. Also liked that the decorative support pieces underneath can be used or not. I have been looking for a mantel for my home for years but have not been willing to pay the prices I have seen. I have a rock wall fireplace and just needed the mantel, not a surround. Since I got it unfinished, I have exactly what I want.
