Wanting to clean off the soot that had built up over the years on our gas fireplace logs, I ran across this spray and decided to give it a try. It actually worked okay.

Rather than removing the logs from the fireplace, you simply have to heat them up for 15 minutes to get them nice and hot. Then you just spay the logs with the Tommybuilt Soot Remover. The heaviest soot immediately began to dissolve and burn away, which actually sort of surprised me. However, the ends of the ceramic logs that were not as hot and were away from the highest heat did not come very clean couldn't really tell much difference.

But, overall I'm still quite pleased with the way this cleaner dissolved the heaviest soot and I would recommend giving it a try. It just wasn't quite as complete of a cleaning job as I had hoped.

My gas logs had collected a lot of black soot. I am so happy with the way 'Tommybuilt Soot Remover" worked. My logs look almost as good as new.

I had quite a bit of build up on my vented gas logs. This product works to some degree, but not quite as well as I had hoped. The product does have a very nice scent, and I will continue to use it but won't likely purchase it again. To be fair, I did have a lot of build up, so this product might be better on logs with less soot than mine. A number of years ago I had used another anti-creosote spray and it worked very well. Unfortunatley I can't recall the name or where I purchased it.

I followed the directions, but didn't seem to do much except add a nice smell for awhile. perhaps more thorough directions would help

Just follow the directions and this product will work. Only wish it had a stronger or a more concentrated solution.
