I have a wood burning fireplace, but I live in California and we have "no burn" days when the air quality is poor. I don't need the heat of a real fire, and who wants to deal with all that mess any way??!!

I got this log and I love it. I have arthritis and getting down to take care of a fire is a real pain. Sometimes I don't even like the smoke of candles, so I got the battery operated tea lights, both in flickering, and a set of the color changing ones. (And extra batteries, all from Amazon.) Reminds me of those pressed logs you buy that change colors. I put two color changing lights, and four flickering ones in my log. Love it!!!!

Overpriced. The "glowing embers" is just red glitter. The "glow" is hardly visible in a dark fireplace. You would be better off getting a couple of half-burnt logs and gluing on red glitter. I wasted my money. Hope you don't.

This thing came out of the box looking like a gag gift. It was cheaply made and had red sparkles on it. There was no reality tot he product. It was returned.

THIS IS JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR!! THESE LOGS ARE THE RIGHT SIZE IF YOUR FIREPLACE OPENING IS MEDIUM TO SMALL. THE TEALIGHT CANDLES LAST ABOUT 3 HRS AND YOU CAN CHANGE SCENTS WITH THE SEASON. THE "EMBER" DESIGN ON THE LOGS ADDS A NICE SPARKLY TOUCH!

My log actually had chips broken off the back when I received it. Given the price ($29) it wasn't worth my time returning via mail. It's not very elegant but for the price it's a reasonable decoration for a holiday fireplace. The tea lights only last maybe an hour, I have been using votive candles.
