I actually bought this item through KeeperHome. They were courteous and efficient. They also had a "live" individual to talk to seven days a week which made my purchase easier. I would do business with them again.
The fireplace is darker than pictured the carmel oak is very close to a walnut but not quite the midnight walnut (search Classic Flame Savannah for a closer wood color). The unit looks / feels like an expensive piece of furniture. Overall, a nice piece of furniture.
The unit took me (middle aged male) approx 90 minutes to assemble no power tools are needed. Although instructions indicated this was a two person build, it could be accomplished by a single individual with minor changes to the instruction manual (actually only one change at very beginning of build and involves the front face). The heaviest pieces to contend with were the front face and the mantle weighing in at about 40 lbs(?) each. The instructions were clear and each piece was marked appropriately. Again...a fairly simple 90 minute build (or in my terms...a two beer build LOL).
I reside in Cincinnati, OH. While it is currently summer, the fireplace itself produces good heat to warm a room (the unit is in my basement, approx 24 x 12, warmed the entire room to toasty in about 10-15 minutes this will vary in the winter months but appears will be more than adequate to take the chill off the room when temps fall). The fireplace box (the flame) is very realistic and has five different glow settings for "ambience". The unit also has a timer to allow the unit to produce heat for anywhere from 30 minutes to nine hours. Remote to control everything is included and works flawlessly.
So far...very happy with the purchase and would recommend this unit to anyone.
