I actually bought this item through KeeperHome. They were courteous and efficient. They also had a "live" individual to talk to seven days a week which made my purchase easier. I would do business with them again.

The fireplace is darker than pictured the carmel oak is very close to a walnut but not quite the midnight walnut (search Classic Flame Savannah for a closer wood color). The unit looks / feels like an expensive piece of furniture. Overall, a nice piece of furniture.

The unit took me (middle aged male) approx 90 minutes to assemble no power tools are needed. Although instructions indicated this was a two person build, it could be accomplished by a single individual with minor changes to the instruction manual (actually only one change at very beginning of build and involves the front face). The heaviest pieces to contend with were the front face and the mantle weighing in at about 40 lbs(?) each. The instructions were clear and each piece was marked appropriately. Again...a fairly simple 90 minute build (or in my terms...a two beer build LOL).

I reside in Cincinnati, OH. While it is currently summer, the fireplace itself produces good heat to warm a room (the unit is in my basement, approx 24 x 12, warmed the entire room to toasty in about 10-15 minutes this will vary in the winter months but appears will be more than adequate to take the chill off the room when temps fall). The fireplace box (the flame) is very realistic and has five different glow settings for "ambience". The unit also has a timer to allow the unit to produce heat for anywhere from 30 minutes to nine hours. Remote to control everything is included and works flawlessly.

So far...very happy with the purchase and would recommend this unit to anyone.

I gave this to my mother for Christmas and she loved it. Very pretty a nice red with blue (not orange) undertones. Lots of options for deviled egg dishes but I thought this one could be used year 'round. Although it's a Poinsettia it "doubles" as a dahlia in the summer time. It's size is perfect for large families or large gatherings. Also a good shape for storing.

We purchased a smokeless fireplace which requires the Bio-Ethanol fuel. It's not supposed to give off fumes, but there are slight fumes. I'm also surprised by how quickly it burns up. If you leave any in the fire pit with plans to use it at a later time, you'll come back to find that it's evaporated (even the same day). Othere than that, it gets the job done.

This fuel works great with our tabletop fire feature. When the initial shipment arrived, fuel had leaked into the plastic bag protecting the bottles. When I contacted the seller to report this, I requested one extra bottle of fuel because this is the amount I estimated had been lost. They contacted me immediately, apologized, and sent me an entire new 6-pack of upgraded fuel, which arrived right away.

I've had this unit for over a year. I did not buy it from Amazon because I found it $100 less elsewhere (they no longer had price matching). I absolutely love the unit. My HD tv fits perfect on top, DVD, VCR, stereo in shelf right below, side panels hold DVD's and remotes.... The stucture is solid and easy to put together. My original shipment came with two cherry panels mixed in with the oak I had ordered. The supplier was horrible couldn't make phone contact, then when I finally got through they never produced the correct panels. I called the company I purchased the unit through and they made contact & got me the correct side panels. My children and I especially enjoyed it this winter, the flames are pretty and adjustable. The heat can be turned on seperately with or without the flame and it warms the room great without having to heat the whole house. The heat and fan adjust too and are quiet enough to allow listening to the tv at a comfortable level. I've received tons of compliments from guests.

I purchased this elsewhere. However, I wanted to share with others the fact that my sounds stopped working after 3 months. It never did sound right. The cracke will not turn on, which means neither the wind nor the "sparks" will work. It may be the remote, which is the only way to turnon the soundboard, or it may be the circuit board . Now the factory wants me to replace the sound circuit board myself.

I have this mantel, which is very heavy, holding all my electronics and a 50" plasma TV. Imagine, I now have to remove everything to replace the board with no guarantee that it will work.

I am not happy with the fireplace or the manufacturer, who is only available through email (phone # gets an answering machine).

I love the mantel, though, and was happy with the flame effect and the fireplace at first. The heater works well, but I cannot have the plasma TV and heater on at the same time.

Great little design, simple! It's important to know whether or not your fireplace damper is open or closed. Obviously you'd know it was closed if the room filled up with smoke after lighting a fire! But it is also helpful to make sure it's closed when not in use to keep critters from climbing down your chimney! :)
