I'd been looking at these for awhile, and fortunately landed on this one. The wood looks quite a bit darker and higher quality in person. The stones add a nice touch. I was a bit concerned with the assembly at first, but with an extra set of hands I was able to assemble this in about 90 minutes. Also, mine shipped with a case of fuel, which I did not realize it came with. The fire burns about 6-8" high and puts out much more warmth then you might think. Very glad I bought this.

Awesome Fireplace, lots of parts but not difficult to assemble. The boxes did not come with instructions, but I called the company and she emailed them immediately. It currently holds my 42' flat screen.

We bought this as a xmas gift to ourselves, and love the look of it. Love the "real" flames, and the crackle noise it makes when turned on. Don't like the smell of the gel fuel. Have only tried 1 kind, so I won't know until I try others. 1 drawback is the heat doesn't come straight out the front. It rises to the top of the mantel, so really hot if you stand right in front of it, but move back 2 feet, and hard to feel the heat. Chose this over electric, and still not sure right choice for heat purpose, but def. right for the look and feel of a real fireplace.

I love this fireplace! The wood is a darker golden and is beautiful and the slates are a very nice touch. It does take some time to put together but it's not difficult as long as you can follow directions.

I dont have central heat and air for years now. I been looking for sometime a good strong heater that works on a 220V shocket.

I finally saw this one and bought it.

Same size as your typical plug in Electric heaters. The chord to plug into the socket tho is the same as my 24,000 BTU a/c....it's a Big thick 10 gauge chord with a 30 am terminal.

Anyhow, of you have a 30 amp socket, your good to go.

This unit is is waaaaaaaaaaaay Hotter than ANY standard plug in heater. Those at BEST will give you 5,100 BTU, this unit gives you 16,000 BTU's. About as much as a kerosene heater.

Has your typical controls for a heater, on off, and a thermostat by numbers (1 to 6). I highly recommend this Heater for anyone ho has no central heat or you need heat in your garage or work shed, this is perfect.

Nice little heater. Works well keeping a vacant space warm through the winter. Note that this is a 208/230 volt unit so plan to have the proper circuit available. A little smaller than expected but it's still fine.

I bought this for my 20'x20' semi-insulated attached garage in Wisconsin. It cranks out some heat, but not enough to realistically heat that garage in the winter unless it runs ALL the time. Nicely built unit, VERY simple, basically a coil, fan, and thermostat. There is nothing else inside this thing. When I turned this unit on, and placed it next to my existing 120V 1500W fan heater ($10 type model), I had to check several times because I didn't even think the 1500w heater was turned on! This unit cranks out some heat for it's size. It's basically the size of two shoeboxes taped together, or maybe a pice of paper, it's very small. It helps in the garage, but I found that it is better used in my basement where it can make a bid difference in just a few minutes of use.

Remember you need a 30 amp 240 volt outlet for this. I used my dryer outlet, since I now have a gas dryer. I made up an extension cord that plugs into the existing dryer outlet, and has the 30 amp NEMA outlet on the other end. I got all the stuff at Home Depot, and the cord will be the most expensive part (you need 12 guage, 3 conductors total, no neutral needed).

All in allnot big enough for the garage, but works nice in the workshop. 4800 watts is a lot of power though so I expect a big electric bill :)

HEATER DOES A GOOD JOB HEATING, PACKAGING WAS MINIMAL ROTATING TEMP SWITCH WAS BENT BUT STILL WORKED.

NEEDS A FAN ONLY SELECTION OR A THERMAL SWITCH TO KEEP FAN GOING UNTIL HEAT COILS COOL OFF, GETS VERY HOT WHEN CYCLES OFF WONDER ABOUT ITS LONGIVITY.

Bought this unit as a construction site heater and it has fulfilled the purpose admirably. Compact, well engineered, quality built, powerful and reasonably priced. I plan on keeping this unit as a garage heater for those vehicle emergencies and, "Winter projects," that can't be put off till Spring. RW

Cheap Acme Miami 95004 4 in. Motorized Damper - Silver

This product works as billed. It opens when powered, and closes when the power is shut off.

However, it looks and is cheaply built.

For starters, I had to remove the damper and straighten it by bending it back in shape and placing a couple of washers on the damper bar to shim it and make it close properly against the cheap foam weatherproof strip. Then I had to carefully peel off and reapply the weatherstrip against which the damper rests when closed. It was put on crooked. It's a cheezy setup.

When looking to purchase a motorized damper, I reviewed the different products on line and chose this one because it was $20 to $30 cheaper. Their are not a lot of options for a 4" motorized damper.

The more expensive dampers looked to have a better weatherstrip design, as well as a smaller motor. Some seemed to incorporate a flange inside the vent, against which the damper firmly rested. Not just a dinky piece of foam crookedly slapped on the inside.

But in the end, it cost me more for this product, because I had to purchase the 24 volt transformer, which cost me $27 dollars at Radio Shack. This is important to consider.

In the end, had I bought one of the better designed dampers, I would have paid less, because they ALSO provided a transformer in the package.

This damper is doing the job ok for me, I'm just saying that there are probably better designed products out their for the same money.

I just got this fireplace and I love it! Very impressed with the realism of the flames and logs.

I bought this for the ambience it gives my living room and not for the heater so can't really comment on how well it will heat a room as I haven't used it.

Pros: Realistic looking flames and logs. Well built and sturdy. Open shelf is wide enough that it holds both my cable and home theater plus my center speaker.

Cons: The open shelf is only 14" in depth. So make sure you measure the components you plan on using. Mine stick out a bit but doesn't ruin the looks. This is the reason I have given it 4 stars instead of 5.

Cannot comment on shipping as I found this in a little shop. However, I had been looking on line and Amazon has the lowest price I have seen.

I choose this rating because there was just no way to improve this product. I had a difficult time finding a mantel for a smaller fireplace wall, which didn't look like just a "shelf". I wanted it to be beautiful, and yet fit properly in a small family room area, and not obstruct the TV. This product is well made, and beautiful with the angle corner edges, and fit perfectly. It came a few days early, and packaged for safe shipping. I would definately recommend any of the Pearl products to a friend. My only concern is, it is made in China, and I thought when I ordered it, it was US made. I sent an email expressing my disappointment. I hope more pearl products will be US made in the near future.

First I must admit, this was a gift and I didn't have the pleasure of building it myself. Those tasked with this said it 'wasn't bad' and took a couple of hours and a six pack of beer. There were no problems with hardware, pre drilled holes, etc... When I visited the person who built this I was happily amazed at the look and the feel and the overall quality. It looks like a piece of 'real' furniture and not a particle board fake piece of junk. It has a veneer that looks great and feels like an expensive piece of furniture. I cannot comment on the long term durability of the materials but can guess that if you don't move it much or move it correctly (NOT DRAGGING) it.. it should last you for years. As with all RTA furniture you must be careful during moves or rearranging since this can and will weaken it at connection points. If you don't want to worry about that you'll have to lay down hundreds more for something similar. Overall, a good product, good price and nice addition to your home.

We ordered this as a replacement for an open glass-shelf TV stand as a way to get cords managed and hidden from little fingers (and not to have sharp glass shelves either.) We also needed a stand that would accommodate a DVD player with a large footprint and it fits just perfectly into the open shelf (it is about 18" square); our cable box and a center speaker fit into the other shelf. Our TV is 42" and there is room enough on either side for side speakers and the wii is tucked behind one. We have put a lot of the speaker wires and other cables/wires into the drawers (which we are planning on putting child locks on) and it is so nice to have them tucked away! Overall I am quite pleased with it. I think it looks better in person than in the picture. A review on another website mentioned it not being sturdy and the reviewer had reinforced it with wood glue; we did not find that we needed to do this. It is plenty sturdy for us and the directions for assembly were easy to follow. We were also happy with the price, as it seems silly to spend a lot of money on technology housing when the technology changes so often (e.g. giant TV armoires of the 90s.) Is it the most solid, high quality stand you could buy? No. But, if you need a TV stand that is deep enough for an older (5 years old haha!) flat screen TV with a trapezoidal footprint and/or to house larger accessories and hide wires AND looks nice at a good price, this is your stand.

This is real wood veneer, not plastic wrapping that looks like wood that you find on similarly-priced items. Very solid, heavy, and looks like a quality piece of furniture. Only issue is the drawers are not the most heavy duty. Other than that very happy with it.

This is a very nice piece of furniture for the money. The construction is solid. It did take a few minutes to comprehend the instructions for putting it together, but once I got the idea, it was quite straight forward. I had to return the first one I received because it was marred inside the packaging by a nail that rubbed through the thin layer of foam separating it from the top piece. The return process was pretty easy. I think the packaging could be improved, but otherwise I am completely satisfied with this tv stand.

Purchased this for my new 50" TV. Easy to out together, took about an hour, and looks really great. Does NOT look like a piece of furniture that cost less than $200. and had to be assembled! Fits in well with my mid-century modern furniture. Very happy I didn't go with something premade from a furniture store for 3 times the cost.
