First of all, I was expecting the fireplace in about 2 weeks when I ordered it and received it in only 6 days. When I opened the box, I was impressed at the way it was packed to prevent any kind of damage. The assembly instructions made it extremely easy with no questions. When assembled, I turned it on and the flame is so real like and very beautiful. The product is great quality and plan on ordering another one for the bedroom.

Cheap Acme Miami 95004 4 in. Motorized Damper - Silver

This product works as billed. It opens when powered, and closes when the power is shut off.

However, it looks and is cheaply built.

For starters, I had to remove the damper and straighten it by bending it back in shape and placing a couple of washers on the damper bar to shim it and make it close properly against the cheap foam weatherproof strip. Then I had to carefully peel off and reapply the weatherstrip against which the damper rests when closed. It was put on crooked. It's a cheezy setup.

When looking to purchase a motorized damper, I reviewed the different products on line and chose this one because it was $20 to $30 cheaper. Their are not a lot of options for a 4" motorized damper.

The more expensive dampers looked to have a better weatherstrip design, as well as a smaller motor. Some seemed to incorporate a flange inside the vent, against which the damper firmly rested. Not just a dinky piece of foam crookedly slapped on the inside.

But in the end, it cost me more for this product, because I had to purchase the 24 volt transformer, which cost me $27 dollars at Radio Shack. This is important to consider.

In the end, had I bought one of the better designed dampers, I would have paid less, because they ALSO provided a transformer in the package.

This damper is doing the job ok for me, I'm just saying that there are probably better designed products out their for the same money.

Purchased this poker for my 36 inch steel and brick backyard firepit. It is the perfect lenght in that it is long enough to reach to the far side of the circle but not so long as to be awkard to handle or overly heavy. The manufacturing is excellent, as seen in the handsome wood grip and solid stainless steel. As a practical matter, I use my poker several times a week for over a month now and it is still straight as an arrow, despite moving 9-inch diameter heavy logs around. Bottom line, worth every penny.

I love this fire poker! My wife surprised me with this as a gift. I had mentioned once I wished there was a poker to use with our fire ring outside. Well there is and this works perfectly for moving around large logs. Solidly constructed and expertly crafted in the USA. My only complaint is that the handle is smooth and glossy as in the picture. In my opinion, it would've been nice if the handle were treated with an anti-slip coating or grooved for enhanced gripping. I just believe the enhanced grip would help with controlling the poker. The poker is of a nice weight and being extra long the weight is noticeable when handling it. That's the only reason for the four-star rating. This truly is a great addition to our campfires.

The firepit poker arrived just as described. The handle's wood is beautiful, and the pointed design is excellent for simply stirring coals, while the hook works well for turning or moving large pieces.

We purchased this poker earlier in the year for our new large firepit. We absolutely love it it works perfectly. We used to use our standard fireplace poker and it was a bit of a scene to watch. Now my husband has more control of the fire and our friends ask us where we found it!

Item is very high quality and customer service is terrific as well. Highly recommend this product.

We have a 6' diameter fire pit in our back yard, and I have searched for something to move the logs around with. Fireplace tools were always too short, so I was using a 4' stick to move the logs as needed. I had almost purchased a cast-iron item similar to this at a local art/craft festival, but I am glad I didn't pay the $75 asking price now that I have this.

My wife an I have used this to push/pull 4" to 12" diameter logs around the fire several times, and we are very happy with it. The quality is high enough that we are not worried about hurting it, and the wooden handle is very comfortable to work with.

All in all, one of the better purchases I have made here.

These tools are well made and attractive, much better looking than the picture shows. We purchased a different set for $26 which was a piece of doodoo. Returned that and upgraded to these. We didn't want to spend a lot of money because it's going into a vacation rental. These are perfect. The stand is well balanced and doesn't wobble. Very happy with the purchase.

Flimsy and cheap looking. I should have returned it but my husband had opened it and thrown away the packaging. It's going to the Salvation Army or Habitat Store.

Although I read the description in detail, I was still surprised at how small and flimsy this was. I really hoped it would be more substantial. It will work, but temporarily. We will want to find something better and let the children use this to learn how to clean the fireplace.

My husband purchased this set and we were both disappointed in the smallness of the set. We had to go out and buy a "real" set of tongs to go with the set as we realized that the one provided with the set was for show only. No way could you use the tongs on a fire without heavy gloves to protect your hands as they are not true tongs no handles or hinge so you have to manually squeeze the two arms together to pick up anything.

I am so disappointed with this product. The space alotted in the unit for gel fuel cans is way too small and narrow to accommodate the Real Flame cans that I bought it for. Even more, the logs look painted. Total useless for my needs. But I guess you get what you pay for. The $58 was a rip-off. Can't even use it as a door stop.
