This is a great mantel. I searched the big box stores and could only find mantels with 7.5" deep. I have an antique clock that required at least 9 inches. This mantel fit the bill. I didn't install it myself, but had a handyman install. It appear easy (after he was able to locate the studs). My only suggestion that was not in the instructions was to put screws at the bottom of the shelf into the hanger board, it gives it added support.

Purchased this poker for my 36 inch steel and brick backyard firepit. It is the perfect lenght in that it is long enough to reach to the far side of the circle but not so long as to be awkard to handle or overly heavy. The manufacturing is excellent, as seen in the handsome wood grip and solid stainless steel. As a practical matter, I use my poker several times a week for over a month now and it is still straight as an arrow, despite moving 9-inch diameter heavy logs around. Bottom line, worth every penny.

I love this fire poker! My wife surprised me with this as a gift. I had mentioned once I wished there was a poker to use with our fire ring outside. Well there is and this works perfectly for moving around large logs. Solidly constructed and expertly crafted in the USA. My only complaint is that the handle is smooth and glossy as in the picture. In my opinion, it would've been nice if the handle were treated with an anti-slip coating or grooved for enhanced gripping. I just believe the enhanced grip would help with controlling the poker. The poker is of a nice weight and being extra long the weight is noticeable when handling it. That's the only reason for the four-star rating. This truly is a great addition to our campfires.

We purchased this poker earlier in the year for our new large firepit. We absolutely love it it works perfectly. We used to use our standard fireplace poker and it was a bit of a scene to watch. Now my husband has more control of the fire and our friends ask us where we found it!

We have a 6' diameter fire pit in our back yard, and I have searched for something to move the logs around with. Fireplace tools were always too short, so I was using a 4' stick to move the logs as needed. I had almost purchased a cast-iron item similar to this at a local art/craft festival, but I am glad I didn't pay the $75 asking price now that I have this.

My wife an I have used this to push/pull 4" to 12" diameter logs around the fire several times, and we are very happy with it. The quality is high enough that we are not worried about hurting it, and the wooden handle is very comfortable to work with.

All in all, one of the better purchases I have made here.

In defense of Aqua Cone, there appears an asterisk on the packaging which states: " not recommended for vacation watering" Fair enough, but also precisely why I bought them in order to deliver precious drops of H2O to my balcony plants while away for couple of weeks or so.

Well, I punched out two holes under soil type "clay" and inverted the water bottle( 2-liter used ginger-ale) and within 20 minutes, the plant had slaked its thirst and I stood aghast. Two weeks away, how will this ever work? Enter the lowly house sponge: I cut a sliver from a big floor sponge and wetted it and then jammed it into the cone with a screwdriver and inverted the 2-liter container and rammed her home. I marked the high-water mark on the side of the container and sat back to observe. Well, now some 5 hours later, the water is slowly, but surely irrigating the plant. I'd say, at this rate, it should go a week, maybe longer, so progress is at hand and I feel product might work. Other thoughts, if you want to slow water delivery, punch out just 1 of 2 holes or punch it out with very fine nail for small-bore hole.

These cones are a cheap solution if you need to water your plants slowly. My solution to the cones draining water too quickly from my two liter soda bottle is to put about a teaspoon of Soil Moist Granules in the bottle before adding water. The granules will expand and absorb the water and float to the bottom of the cone. The expanded granules will block the water in the bottle from coming out quickly but still releases the water slowly. One 2L bottle should easily last at least a couple of weeks.

This system of watering plants does not work well!. It seems that they either drain the water TOO FAST or NOT AT ALL!. I still have some Spikes that I have not/will not attempt to put to use.

This is my 2nd attempt to use a product of this kind. I have talked with friends who experienced poor results also.

We have an old coal fireplace which is only 8" deep. We could not find any type of gas flame logs that would fit at all. This product installed easily and fit almost perfectly into the space. We still get the look of a fire and additional heat. The heater aspect of it has a high & low setting and is very quiet. Last summer I had our wood burning medal fireplace chimney removed and the fireplace capped. This left our fireplace useless. I looked at gas inserts and gas logs but didnt like the way they looked or they wouldn't fit. Then I saw this Dimplex electric in a furniture store. I was amazed how real it looked. I ordered it.It only took 3 days to come. Took it out of the box and put it in the fireplace opening and had it going in 20 minutes. It looks far better than any gas unit. I love the look and feel of fireplaces, but they are very rare in South Florida, where I live. An artificial fireplace was the answer for me. I bought this insert to replace a unit that burned gel cans in a freestanding fireplace. This electric unit is beautiful! I like it so much more than the gel can type. This unit has a very realistic look. The logs are "real" (3-dimensional), not painted onto a screen like some others I've seen. The embers seem like they are really glowing and the "flames" dance realistically. And it is nice to be able to use it without heat if you wish. I highly recommend this fireplace insert.

I bought two of these inserts to fill fireplaces that have been capped off in an old house. The cords are very short & per the safety instructions you can't use extension cords to reach an outlet. The units look nice and provide ambience when it is dark. During the day they look exactly like what they are, fake. They do not put out any significant amount of heat. I tried to use it in my 6x4 hallway last week to take the chill off in the morning. It took three hours to raise that small room 10 degrees.

Bottom line-if you are buying them just for decoration, great, you'll like them. If you want them to function as heaters, these are not for you.

This very real looking fireplace fits nicely into my fireplace opening. My cats like to sit around it so even they are fooled. My only issue is that the heating element is at the top of the unit. I was hoping it would be at the bottom. So the heat it gives off is not as much as I would have liked.

I did a lot of research before ordering this particular unit. I was very pleased at how quickly it was shipped and the condition it was in. It took just under three hours to assemble with the heating unit packaged in one piece. All you have to do is put it in the unit. The shelf part has two openings for the cords, one opening for cords going up to the television and one going down to the electrical outlet. The actual fire is very easy to watch and the temperature and heat settings are adjustable, both on the unit and with the enclosed remote control. An added bonus is a marker the same color as the unit to cover any scratches.

All in all, this has been a great addition to our living area.

I am very impressed with this entertainment center. It arrived on time, had easy-to-follow directions for assembly, and looks beautiful. The finished is very nice and the wood pieces fit together perfectly to give it a very professional appearance. The flames look very realistic and the heater definitely helps to warm our room. I have a VERY small living room and didn't have a lot of space for my entertainment stuff. This looks wonderful and has a very small footprint. I have a 42" TV on it and I wouldn't recommend it for anything larger than that..I didn't have any trouble putting it together. There was one part on the front that didn't line up flush but it's the same way on the opposite side so I think it may have been a bad idea rather than a defect. However, it's not the sort of thing anyone would notice.

These had a very realistic flicker. I enjoyed these in several holiday tealight and votive holders. I really enjoyed not having to scrap wax and clean everything before I stored it away for the season. I have a few tealight houses and a porcelain sugar plum tree that holds tealights and get covered. Real candles always made these items very HOT. These flameless tealights didn't get hot. I didn't have to worry about my year old or my cat knocking anything over or getting burning. I can't wait to use them around the house now that the holiday season is over.

It's only 4 stars because they can't use them in a clear holder. But they looked quite realistic in metal, ceramic or frosted glass holders and luminaries.

I'm returning these overpriced things and will never buy anything from Lily's Home again, as I feel their marketing of these was deceptive.
