I was concerned for the price this mantle would look cheap, but it is very classy and comes with a wonderful Cherry finish that has an oil rubbed satin look. This will go well in any high end custom fireplace application. Great value

This is a great mantel. I searched the big box stores and could only find mantels with 7.5" deep. I have an antique clock that required at least 9 inches. This mantel fit the bill. I didn't install it myself, but had a handyman install. It appear easy (after he was able to locate the studs). My only suggestion that was not in the instructions was to put screws at the bottom of the shelf into the hanger board, it gives it added support.
