I needed a small grate for my very small wood stove and this was the smallest that I could find. I found it to be almost perfectly what I wanted surprisingly so. It is much sturdier than I expected so I anticipate it's lasting as long as I do. I needed a way to keep logs from too easily coming out of the stove when refueling it and it does that as well or better than I could have expected. The only thing about the grate that posed a slight problem was its height. While being quite functional as it was, the height limited the firebox more than I wanted. An angle grinder with a cutoff wheel made short work of shortening the legs and now it's perfect!

Our fireplace has gotten a lot of use over the past five plus years and due to the screen being rather difficult to slide, it had become a bit stretched and worn. Doors aren't an option on our fireplace so new screens were in order. These were a perfect fit and seem to be an exact replacement for the existing screens. They changed out in less than 5 minutes with the only tool required being a nut driver to release the existing valance rods, which simply drop right down after releasing the single fastener on each rod.

The quality of the screen material feels comparable to what came original on our fireplace. I can't say if that's great, good, or not so good, but I'm satisfied.

Overall we're very pleased with the results of this relatively inexpensive update to our living room and would encourage anyone with a worn screen to consider this as well.

We bought this to extend the life of an aging fireplace front and it did the trick. The installation was a little tricky, but after a few tries I figured it out. In hindsight I should have just bought a new front, but this is one good quality screen for sure.

I guess I should have learned by now that you get what you pay for. I should not have expected much from this unit. Sometimes you can get a great deal and save a lot. Not in this case.

The box arrived really damaged. I honestly don't know how the item itself was not damaged. Among the other less severe damages, there was a hole all the way through the box on one side.

Once we got it installed, I would say "cute" is the best way to describe its appearance. I realize most electric fireplaces don't look like the real thing, but they have gotten much more realistic in the last few years. This one looks more like they did when they first came out, more like a toy than most late model electric fireplaces. We turned the heat on high to see what the heat factor might be on the wall behind it (it's wood). After a few minutes it did get a little warmer. But, I don't think it will do much for the room it's in. Maybe we will be pleasantly surprised but I am not expecting much there. The heater blows from the the top, just fyi.

It started out relatively quiet, but after running for about 15 minutes you could hear the "squirrel cage" inside the unit. Something is a little out of balance I suspect. It's not horrible, but definately noticeable.

The unit I am comparing this one to is a wall mount dimplex. The dimplex costs 3-4 times as much but the quality difference shows. I have seen other units that would compare favorably to the dimplex but they were all much more expensive than this unit.

If you get this unit, be aware it is cheap for a reason.

This product looks great! Very modern looking and can be placed almost anywhere. It's pretty heavy, the only thing I'm not really impressed with is the amount of heat it pumps out. I have a condo, that has wall heaters, and it's the first place I've lived without a fireplace so this was a must. HOwever, my heating bills are very high, and so I try to keep it off after the first two months. The flames look pretty nice, and the rocks inside are a nice touch.

I am very pleased with my new electric fireplace. It was easy to mount on the living room wall, and heats the both the living room and dining room on just the low setting (approx. 450 square feet). It makes a bit more noise than I expected, but no more so than any other room type heater. All of my guests have commented favorably regarding the look, and I love the cozy feeling it lends to the room. I did at first have an issue with the remote, but the seller worked quickly to resolve the problem.

This is the smallest fireplace type space heater I have seen. I have used the larger size in my bedroom, but even on low, it was too much warmth for the space. This smaller Dimplex unit is just right. In about a 12'x12' room, a few hours of this heater on low warms us up on nights when it's in the low 30s, upper 20's. I'm very happy with it; the style is great and it isn't hot to the touch. Unlike the larger types, the heat on this one comes out of the lower front panel instead of from further underneathbut that's the only difference. The power is wonderful and the flames-look, relaxing. It's also very quiet.

I was disappointed that the first cube package that I opened was defective so with that in mind, I decided to return all three Dimplex Mini Cube Freestanding Electric Stoves. The three packages were picked up by Fed Ex on January 29th and to date have not received my refund. Not at all satisfied with this transaction. We like our new FP hearth unit...its ok. We did not like Fed ex losing the first one in shipping and we do not like the fact that its fit on the brick leaves gaps and voids that you must fill with insulation (somewhat of a disappointment for such a expensive door unit) and the fire rated insulation is not cheap.

Installation was easy as stated did not take us long at all to get it mounted and secured (no tool were required to accomplish this).

The finish and color is exactly as stated and the looks are a good fit for our room and area.

I replaced a dated brass screen with the Pleasant Hearth Craton Fireplace Glass Doors. It was an instant update. They look great! The doors are sturdy. Nothing flimsy about it. The installation was easy. I did it by myself (64 yr old female) with no problem although it is probably even easier with a helper. Like others, I would have liked a bit more insulation included but that's a minor complaint. You can't go wrong with these doors.

Easy to set up and works great, I have a 20x12 little cabin in upstate NY and its perfect. Heads up, make sure you burn it a few times outside before you set it up, it has some kind of protectve coating that smokes and smells wierd on the first couple of fires. Also you have to cut the wood in about 12 to 13 inch lenths. As for coal, NY only has clean burning anthracite coal which burns to hot for this stove. PA has Biuminous or dirty coal and thats what this stove takes, so if passing through PA pick up a load.

We bought this to add to our prepping. Hard to find in Florida but if a hurricane comes through you could still use one for cooking if electric is out for days. I was looking for an old one with the oven but am glad I have this for now. Bought the coleman camp oven to set on top of it for baking but havent tried it yet so not sure how it will work out. I do know it is getting a little rust on it even though it is under shelter and has not been used yet so will have to get the black paint for hot cookers and spray it down. We want to be able to take care of ourself if things go south and not count on anyone else. Still have a long way to go but every step is one step closer. We bought this on amazon and did not have any problems..

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program When I hit the power button on the remote for the first time and this unit fired up, it lit up my bedroom and completely transformed the feel of the room. I felt I was in an expensive hotel room. I couldn't help but have a huge smile. I love it. The flames look real. The stones look like they are glowing orange hot. It's really surprising how real it looks. The unit is only about 5 inches deep, so it doesn't stick out far from the wall at all.

The box is quite large but I was able to move it by myself (about the size a 50 inch TV would come in). The unit is very well packed and protected. The unit is in two main pieces that are a lot easier to move and carry than the box. I carried each of the two pieces upstairs and leaned them against my bed. The instructions were straight forward except for the fact that they said to take the mounting bracket out of the box. My mounting bracket was screwed to the main firebox and had to be removed so I could mount it to the wall. This was a good way to package it, it just was different than what the instructions said. The mounting bracket was over 32 inches wide and has screw hole every couple inches. This allows you to position it to hit two wall studs. That is what I did. You can also use the included drywall wall anchors. I like to hit a stud whenever I can.

I made sure the mounting bracket was level and attached it to the wall with 4 screws (included). Once that is on the wall installation is super easy. The firebox fits onto slots/hooks on the mounting bracket. Just lift it on and it stays there. Then replace the two screws that held the firebox to the bracket on the bottom. This assures that it will not come off the wall. You also need to remove a small access panel on the bottom of the firebox and pull out the larger of the two wires. The smaller one is for an in the wall installation kit. The wire will extend through the hole in the access panel, so the panel can be put back on. Now you put the included two sets of stones along the bottom of the firebox on the little slanted shelf. There is a set of clear plastic like stones and a set of white real stones. On the first layer I put one white stone then one clear stone. This used up all the clear ones. Then I added a second row on top of the first of the white ones. The clear stones will pick up the orange light and glow orange hot like coals. Pretty cool.

Next the front glass panel fits on the firebox it fits into another set of slots. Push the bottom of the glass in and it will snap two pegs into spring loaded brackets. Almost done. Now stick your head under the unit and connect the wire coming out of the access panel to the one on the back of the glass panel. Finally plug her in and stand back. Hit the power button on the remote and watch your room be transformed.

The remote is awesome. On it you can:

Select 1 of 4 flame modes. Mostly the brightness changes. And yes the flames look real. I was really surprised.

Select 1 of 12 back light colors including one that cycles through all of them as well as off.

Select a timer to turn the unit off after x hours (variable number). A sleep function like on your TV.

Turn the heater on Level 1 (750 watts) Level 2 (1500 watts) and off. You do not need to run the heater.

Set the thermostat for the heater.

The remote has an LCD display.

Notes:

Installation was easy for me. I used a drill, screwdriver, level, and stud finder (battery one and long finishing nail to confirm).

The instructions refer to the mounting bracket as if it is loose in the box. Mine was screwed to the fire box and had to be removed so it could be mounted on the wall.

There looks to be an add on kit for mounting this fireplace in the wall.

The instructions say the unit needs 13 inches of space on the bottom and none on the sides and top. Bottom is due to the heater.

The heater on the high setting will use all the power on a standard household circuit, so be aware of that so you're not blowing the circuit breaker all the time.

The firebox has power and mode buttons on the side.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I was really intrigued by this, because I've never seen a wall-mount LED fireplace before. "Would it look like a TV? Would it heat like a fireplace?" the anticipation nearly killed me.

It showed up in a box that seemed to scream "I'm a 50" TV! STEAL ME!", though I happened to be home when it arrived. I was a bit surprised by how heavy it was -certainly heavier than a 50" LCD / LED television, arguably heavier than a similarly-sized plasma TV.

As far as looks go, I want to love this, and being an 80's kid, I absolutely do. It's like watching the Fire Channel on an HDTV, which reminds me of the old VHS aquarium tapes. The backlight is... prominent, making me want to fish out my old neon telephone, paint my walls turquoise and pink, and rock some Miami Vice: Season One. But therein lies a fairly serious problem. Even for contemporary style aficionados, it's hard to overcome the gadgety feel GreatCo seems to convey. And if you're not single and embracing your midlife crisis, you may find that your interior decorating committee objects to the style.

On the functional side, I was fairly impressed by how heat was radiating. It isn't like a fireplace, but it's less obvious than an electric space heater. Where it's just like an electric heater, is in the expense. Even with light usage, I noticed my electric bill climbing upwards.

In the right house with the right decor and the right person, you could pull this off. If you're not dead-on, you're going to find yourself stuck with a dangerously kitschy appliance that's expensive to run. Be careful, Crockett.

The large second floor master-suite has about 450 sq. ft. but, does not have a radiator. This fireplace makes it toasty, there are two different heating levels to choose from. The flames look real and the ambient LED lighting looks great. installation is pretty straight forward, attach the bracket to the wall (first remove it from the fireplace), hang the main unit and attach the glass portion. Great addition to the room when adding a vented fireplace is not an option.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program My box was delivered with a big dent in the front side where the glass was packed. When I opened the box, I fully expected the glass to be cracked or broken but it was perfect, which speaks highly for the shipping container.

I was thinking this would be the size of a 50" TV but it is a bit larger. The dimensions are 50" wide and 26" tall, which is probably the size of a 55" TV. It can be mounted on or recessed inside the wall. Personally, I would never build something like this into the wall because if it ever breaks or you get sick of it, you now have a huge hole in the wall. Fortunately, it is pretty slim (6" deep) so mounting it on the wall is perfectly fine.

The instructions are definitely lacking but fortunately, it is pretty straightforward to install. To install, you will need a drill, 1/8" drill bit, Philips screwdriver bit and preferably a level and stud finder. Also, you will need a few paper towels and glass cleaner to clean the glass front. Be sure to clean the inside of the glass before you mount it as it is quite dirty from shipping. A helper is recommended but you could install this yourself if need be. The unit is quite heavy but the weight is mainly due to the glass front. The firebox is separate and that is what you mount to the wall. Once you mount and level the box, you add the included clear and white stones to the bottom frame, then the glass front hangs over and attaches to the box with 4 hooks and snaps into the bottom. You must connect the backlight cable before you snap the bottom into place. There are two screws to lock it in place and you are done. I would strongly advise against using the wall anchors, as this weights about 70 lb. so be smart and bolt it to two studs with the 4 screws (included).

The glass front is elegant and the look of the flame is more realistic than other electric fireplaces I've seen. From across the room, it looks fairly realistic. Up close, it is not going to fool anyone but I've never seen an electric fireplace that would.

The remote has a temperature display, which defaults to degrees Celsius. After pressing the power button, you can hold the temperature button for 3 seconds to change it to Fahrenheit. The remote also controls the flame brightness (toggles between 3 levels), heater high or low, backlight color and timer. You can also turn heat and flame on and off from 2 buttons on the right side of the unit.

Overall, this is a nice fireplace. I think it is expensive for what you get but the front is a piece of solid glass so I'm sure that is a good part of the cost. I took a star off for the terrible instructions and the fact that the mounting bracket was different from what was shown in the instructions. Also, the bracket for mounting inside the wall was not included, although the instructions said it was. I doubt many people will mount this inside the wall anyway.

This is the first time ever we've had to give a negative review for an item purchased on Amazon. We've been Amazon customers close to 15 years now, and buy most all our items online.

First and foremost the quality of the item is substandard. Instructions are poorly written and printed so small a magnifying glass is needed to read it. My husband is a pretty handy fellow overall with a mechanical engineering background and was ready to throw the "thing" into the dumpster after less than 10 minutes. We would have shipped it back had it not been for the fact we had a family emergency which took us away suddenly for almost a month. The packaging and wrappings had been gotten rid of in the meantime, and by the time we returned we had no choice but to put the "thing" together. And it looks like hell on top of it all.

I use this tv stand to hold a 32" tv and a vide game console. The stand comes in a low profile box, with all the shelves and components. All the screws and mounting hardware are in a single bag, not organized or separated. The instrunctions are

not impossible to read, but do require some interpretation and visualization of how the tv stand will be put together. I would highly recommend a power screwdriver to put this together. The screw holes are pre-tapped, but it's alot of work to hand screw everything together, which is what I did. A couple things to be aware of: all the shelving was dirty and dusty from the warehouse so I had to wipe it down before assembly. It pays to take your time and visualize how the tv stand will look when it is put together, because it is

possible and easy to make a mistake. Have a power screwdriver handy or be prepared to do some physical work. Also, the holes for the 4 rollers on the bottom weren't pre-tapped deep enough so I had to tap mine with a nail first. This is a manageable assembly for someone with average mechanical aptitude, but for someone who doesn't work with tools this probably would be too much to handle. When it's done it looks very nice in a corner, the wood is a dark brown mahagony color. I thing this item is fairly priced.

I have tried many bells over the years and they all eventually wear out; however, I do recommend that if you purchase a wireless bell, you purchase one which has a plug in Ding Dong.

This GE 19216 has been in use for a couple of months now and works just fine. I was impressed enough with it to buy a second one for my next door neighbor. It was fun opening up their bell and pulling out one of the little plastic thingies to alter the frequency codes so that our bells do not both ring at once.

Installation is simple and the bells work just fine. I cannot determine the distance that the bells can transmit because both installations are well under 50 feet.

I do recommend this product for its quality and ease of installation. Enjoy your Ding Dong!

I had few problems with this product as soon as it arrived. You can not put this door chime to far from the button control/door. It will still work at 15 feet, but not any further in my apartment. Chime switch is inside the button control. So you have to open it(with something really sharp) to switch a chime tone. It was very inconvenient.

To conclude: product works well under some limitations but was not designed with consumer in mind.

Originally purchased it with one button, then bought the lighted button, sold separately on amazon. I think it looks much better. When I first received the alarm and the optional lighted button, I was fairly pleased with it. But after a few weeks it would only ring about one out of every two pushes. As a few more weeks went by, the odds increased to 1 time out of 10 and then eventually zero. I tried moving the chime as close to the button as possible. Even at 8 feet nothing. I dismounted the button and found that it would work at the stupendous range of 2 feet with no obstructions... most of the time. I tried different codes, no effect. I have an MSEE from Caltech, so I know a bit about electronics circuitry. I disassembled the chime and found that the RF circuit is tuned by a tunable slug inductor. In this day and age of digital VCO's and PLL's, I found it hard to believe that the unit would be based on 1960's technology. I found that the button transmitted at 868 MHz. I started tuning the inductor slug in the chime and found a point where I could just barely get 18 feet range. The temperature in my basement where I tuned the chime, was about 63°F. When I moved the chime back upstairs, where the temperature was about 72°F, the range had again dropped to about 2 feet, indicating that a temperature increase of only 9°F had completely mistuned the chime RF circuit again. What a piece of junk!

So if you still insist on buying this unit, be prepared to do the following;

* Buy a temperature controlled chamber so you can keep the chime at a very tightly controlled temperature, probably ±1°F

* Be prepared to mount the chime less than 2 feet away from the button, preferably not obstructed by any object.

* Better yet, mount the chime directly beside the button, outdoors.

* Print up a nice sign to put on your door that says KNOCK LOUDLY

I had a lot of fun playing with the many different sounds and choosing one. I tested the doorbell near the door to make sure that it wasn't too far from the receiver. Then I attached it to the frame next to the door, following the mounting directions, only to find that it suddenly did not work. Looking at the 'troubleshooting' section of the instructions, I learned that it cannot be mounted on metal. You'd think that this important detail would have been in the main part of the instructions, before one is told to mark the location and to drill holes! My home has aluminum siding, and metal trim around all of the doors. My only option was to mount the doorbell onto the door itself, which is made of wood. As far the bell itself goes: the sound is very tinny.)

I purchased this item to help my wife clean out our home fireplace, but did not realize two shortcomings: 1) The unit requires a second vacuum cleaner to provide suction--it does not have its own motor (I probably should have known this by examining the product info. more closely), and 2) The filter, when filtering ash, requires frequent cleaning to allow enough suction. Basically, I'm disappointed in the product, but can't send it back because I tried it once.

After one wood-stove-burning season, the connector between the metal tube and the hose split, causing the vac to lose suction. Duct tape solutions for a product after one season (3 months) of use is not a mark of quality craftsmanship. The design requires frequent emptying/cleaning to keep the suction strong enough to pick up ash.

we burn wood to heat the house and being able to clean the wood stove without having to let the house go cold first is a big advantage, I did get a hot ember in a regular shop vac once and the vac itself caught fire-not fun-so this has made cleaning and relighting the wood stove much safer and eaisier.

I have a woodstove that has to shoveled out manually, putting lots of dust into the air in the process. I shopped around but was hesitant to spend $300 on a motorized dust vacuum. The selling point for me was: why by another vacuum when I could use this device with one I already own? That was the theoretical "Pro".

The reality was there are no "Pros" to owning this, only "Cons".

Cons: Looks like a sturdy 5 gal. metal pail. It is made of flimsy metal.

Looks like it has a decent capacity. It fills up and shuts down about 1/3rd of the way up. I had to empty it twice while cleaning the stove. The suction power also drops off rapidly.

Your vacuum's suction hose connects by sticking it through a fragile foam ring and falls out easily.

The inside cannister filter tends to fall off its connection, is covered with a cloth bag and is a nightmare to remove clean and reattach, unless you don't mind getting covered with ash. I would try to shake it out on the end of a stick.

The hose and nozzle are indeed sturdy but the plastic union where the nozzle goes into the hose is cheaply made and split.

I've ended up taking more time and doing more work by using this item and have gone back to my shovel until I can find something better.
