The crickets arrived in oversized boxes and the legs of both crickets were off. Luckily the screws were in the boxes, so I was able to attached them, however, the screws would not stay tightened. I needed to order two more crickets, but I didn't order this brand.

There was little protection in the shipping box to keep the antennae from bending. I bought two of these for friends' hearths and was a bit disappointed in the presentation afforded.

I received my cricket today -it made about as much noise in the box as crickets do in the basement in summer. How does something so small make so much noise, anyway? But I digress.

I'm glad that this item has a nice clear picture, since I will need it as a model when I put the cricket back together. It arrived in 5 pieces. I could be thankful that it didn't arrive in 7 pieces.

The cricket itself is a nice item and it *appears* that I will be able to put it back together. However, it's the packaging that was an epic fail.

The cricket (pieces) arrived inside of a plastic bag inside of a box WAY too big for it. That box was carefully air cushioned inside of an even larger box. Thus, the cricket could rattle all around in a big box anchored inside of a bigger box. I am thankful for the plastic bag, though. That, at least, kept all of the pieces together.

What are my chances that the seller/shipper will see this review and adjust accordingly? About as great as your chances of catching and silencing a pesky cricket in the basement.

I love this set It's nice and modern, black with a modern, silver tone finish on the handles... Makes a lovely addition to my fireplace! Also came wrapped extremely well, with individual pieces wrapped so they wouldn't scratch. Would definitely recommend!

Oh my God!!! I moved to a small home after living in a huge house with a stone fireplace, which I had burning all the time. I have a prefabricated fireplace with a 6 inch flue of metal pipe. Not only do I need to control HVAC efficiency in my home, I need to stop the wasps and yellow jackets from getting in my house. The fireplace has a flue damper but it has a tiny opening near the pivot and it lets them in. One option is to get a closing chimney cap but they are $200+, $700-800 if you have it installed. The Chimney Baloon does work as advertised but it is a pain to install in my type of unit. You need one hand on the extender (yes you need the extender) one holding a flashlight and the tube in your mouth all while positioning your body so you are watching what you are doing and making sure the ballon is positioned corectly. Be careful inserting it into your flue beyond the damper and watch out for sharp sheet metal screws. You inflate it to the point of beginning to seal then pull it down in order for it to seal properly. Otherwise if you dont watch it while inflating, it will inflate lop sided and leave a gap. If you pull it down gently it will seal but you have to have the right amount of pressure here. If the balloon was more rounded this would be less of a hassle. (hint hint to the manufacturer) It does work as advertised so I give it 4 stars. Wheather or not the unit leaks air over time and deflates remains to be seen but it appears to be of respectible quality.

This worked very well, exactly as described. It stopped the draft immediately and the room is much more comfortable to be in now. It did take a couple tries to seat it correctly. Also, I recommend wearing disposable gloves, your hands will get messy.

I bought this screen because another review said it was too dark. I wanted to use it as a patio screen to hide some pottery items and dark was what I wanted. The screen isn't at all dark. For me, it's way too light, but it's lovely, and I will find a good use for it.

We love this fireplace screen. However, the color threw us for a look. When we openned it up and set it out we were suprised that the color was more oreange than a dark rustic brown or green color we were hoping for. I guess that is one of the things we have to deal with when we purchase things online. It is a nice screen.

Ordered this for my wife for Christmas. She always wanted a fireplace in our bedroom and this was the way to go. I was excited...the package arrived before Christmas as promised and voila! No fireplace. The item came with just the mantle. The mantle is well made and fairly easy to assemble. As I unpacked the box I assumed the heater would be in the box. Nope. Nada. Zilch. I called Amazon and they were great in helping me resolve the problem. According to them, the item was under review, so hopefully it is fixed and the heater is included.

What threw me off was the BTU's given in the description...not too many mantles I know of have BTU's unless the heater is included! The item shipped was the mantle only and no electric fireplace. Hopefully Amazon found the heaters!

I too only received the mantle the first time I ordered. I called Amazon and told them that the firebox was missing and that there had to be 2 boxes because all of the order would not fit in one. They sent me another one and it did come with the firebox. I have it in my bedroom and it looks very nice. It has 3 levels of flame and 5 levels of heat on thermostat. They also work independently of each other and that was very important to me. I found this at other stores for much more money plus tax and shipping so it's a really good deal if they can get the order right.

Mantle looks nice and as described with easy assembly.

However, I believe the item description is wrong. Firebox is not included with this item. I ordered 3 different times after not receiving the firebox and each time a new one was sent all you get is the mantle and not the firebox/heater. I even had one shipped from manufacture and no firebox. I believe there should be two boxes as part of this delivery or the item description is wrong and you are only getting a mantle.
