We have a large living room/kitchen/hallway, all open. This product lets you feel a little more heat coming from the fireplace and would work better in a small enclosed room. But the bottom line is that if the fireplace is vented, most of your heat is still going up the chimney. It does look attractive in the fireplace with its reflective sheen and was easy to install, but don't count on it for a lot of heat.

This fireback is awesome. The inside of my fireplace is jet black and dark. The fireback brightens up the room and reflects the flames. It's fun to watch. I'm 100% happy. I also added owls with glowing eyes to add whimsey. Perfect!

A while ago I purchased a ceramic "fire-pot" at Plough and Hearth along with the recommended "gel fuel". The pot holds a metal "cup" into which the fuel is poured and comes with a metal "snuffer" -a lid that will quickly extinguish the flame.

Subsequently, I was unable to find the isopropyl alcohol-based "gel fuel" for sale through any vendor. With some trepidation I ordered the CO-Z Fire product. On first use, I noticed that it was less viscous than the original gel fuel. However, it burns for about the same length of time as the original product with excellent effect. The fuel reservoir in this pot is not large so the flame generally lasts about an hour. Furthermore, when the CO-Z Fire flame finally burns out it doesn't leave any odor while the original fuel often produced a lingering chemical smell. This product has made useful again the fire pot that I was beginning to think was no longer useful for want of a suitable fuel.

The only consideration might be the reduced viscosity of this product compared with the original fuel should the pot (or other portable fireplace) be accidentally knocked over. Such an event can be prevented by awareness and careful placement of the fireplace when in use.

Overall, I'm delighted with having found this product.

Can't find Bio Ethanol, just anywhere. This stuff works great for mobile fireplaces. Has a little odor, so it makes sense to burn this in a mobile fireplace outside or indoors with a window open.

This is a thinner, less viscous product than the gel we used to be able to find, but it burns just as well and seems to last about as long. I would give it 5 stars, but I prefer the thicker gel since it won't flow anywhere in the event a pot gets knocked over.

This fireplace is fabulous! It arrived sooner than promised and in perfect condition. All I did was remove it from the carton and plug it in. It is a very solid, "real" fireplace. The fire is amazing. I stare at it and can't get over how realistic it is. The heat is optional which is great in Hawaii. The remote serves all my needs. It's so wonderful to enjoy a beautiful fire in the evenings!

I needed additional heating in my bedroom and this fit in the existing old fireplace perfectly! I was so excited because it looked so nice and couldn't wait to plug it in and get it going. Then, as we attempted to use the remote, or find control panels on this Yosemite model, we resorted to the instruction manual. The manual did not even match the heater. The remote described in the manual was not the remote with the unit. The control panel described in the manual was not on the heater, nor was there any control panel. Then I found white tape over a certain section of the manual. I held it up to the window to be able to read through it and it was the name of a company in China that made the heater and the directions to the street and building where it was manufactured. Someone had tried to hide that! There was an on/off button, that's all. We couldn't even get it to turn on! I feel like this was the same deal as the individual that bought a Coach purse at a "deal" online, and it was a fake made in China. Except this heater was expensive, and I believe I was sent a fake! I repackaged this heavy thing and I have asked Amazon to reimburse me.

I purchased this hearth grate to go along with the faux logs. The package came VERY quickly but, when I opened the grate, it was broken in pieces. The only packaging was a thin box and bubble wrap that was just wadded up; not even around the grate. I tried calling the company with no luck so simply returned the item and reordered (as Amazon can not replace third-party items but can offer a refund). I am hoping the new grate will be delivered in better shape as I very much like the look of it!

I ordered this grate along with the GHP L-20W Pleasant Hearth Electric Crackling Log. They go together perfectly. It arrives dissembled and requires minor assembly. My only issue with this product was that my grate was missing one of the two bolts required for assembly (but it included an extra nut, go figure).

The crickets arrived in oversized boxes and the legs of both crickets were off. Luckily the screws were in the boxes, so I was able to attached them, however, the screws would not stay tightened. I needed to order two more crickets, but I didn't order this brand.

I received my cricket today -it made about as much noise in the box as crickets do in the basement in summer. How does something so small make so much noise, anyway? But I digress.

I'm glad that this item has a nice clear picture, since I will need it as a model when I put the cricket back together. It arrived in 5 pieces. I could be thankful that it didn't arrive in 7 pieces.

The cricket itself is a nice item and it *appears* that I will be able to put it back together. However, it's the packaging that was an epic fail.

The cricket (pieces) arrived inside of a plastic bag inside of a box WAY too big for it. That box was carefully air cushioned inside of an even larger box. Thus, the cricket could rattle all around in a big box anchored inside of a bigger box. I am thankful for the plastic bag, though. That, at least, kept all of the pieces together.

What are my chances that the seller/shipper will see this review and adjust accordingly? About as great as your chances of catching and silencing a pesky cricket in the basement.
