It looks pretty during a fire, but I don't notice much difference in the amount of heat coming from the fire. Our fireplace is dual sided and fairly deep so much of th heat from a fire escapes up rather than warming the rooms. I purchased the reflector with the anticipation that it would help defelct some of the heat out into the rooms. Unfortunately, I didn't ntoice much a difference so I don't think it is worth the realtively steep price and shipping expense.

This large grate is the perfect size for the large fireplace, unfortunately, the grating broke with burning logs in it and spilled them onto the hearth. I question workmanship and quality of material used to realize this product. Perhaps is was just "one of those things" but it could have been problematic had we not been in a position to respond immediately.

I've had this grate for two winters. The first grate arrived with a broken leg, and the seller promptly replaced it. It was obviously due to poor packaging the first time. The new grate has worked well. It fits nicely in a large fireplace. I added two andrions arount it and it looks great. I read one review of the thing breaking after burning wood. As I have said, 2 years and no problems so far. I would recommend it.

I attached it to a QuadraFire pellet stove and it works well. The only thing that would make it better would be a method to attach it temporarily to a wall like a regular thermostat. I used a peel and stick command strip, but think a piece of velcro might work better if you are taking it down a lot. Otherwise, I recommend it.

This product works well and was easy to setup and install. If you are thinking of purchasing one be aware that I sent mine back twice as it just looked plain beatup upon arrival. I was assured by the vendor they were new units. I don't understand how something new can be all scuffed up. Funtionality is great! Presentation not so much :(

We have a large living room/kitchen/hallway, all open. This product lets you feel a little more heat coming from the fireplace and would work better in a small enclosed room. But the bottom line is that if the fireplace is vented, most of your heat is still going up the chimney. It does look attractive in the fireplace with its reflective sheen and was easy to install, but don't count on it for a lot of heat.

This fireback is awesome. The inside of my fireplace is jet black and dark. The fireback brightens up the room and reflects the flames. It's fun to watch. I'm 100% happy. I also added owls with glowing eyes to add whimsey. Perfect!

I don't think I'd use this as a vase since the flowers might hide the glaze. This is the most appealing fire pot I have. I appreciate the ceramic design and finally I find my colors blended nicely.

I liked this when I first received it as a gift for my sister. Good looking accessory for any table. However, have since seen too many reports about the gel used in the firepots being dangerous. I have been stupid enough to add gel while the firepot was hot and was lucky it did not blow up back at me like the videos I have seen on the news. Too many people have been hurt by these firepots please, if you have one, just put a candle in it don't use the gel. Just google about it you'll be convinced too.

Great looking and solid TV stand. Arrived fully assembled.

One of my doors had a crack in it, but the manufacturer sent me a replacement door frame quickly without any issue (just interacted with them via email). Great customer service!

The only minor negative is that there isn't much air circulation possible in the side component areas (just a 2" hole where cords go through the back). If you put any components in these areas that generate a lot of heat (like a PS3 or XBOX), you will want to do something to improve airflow.

The stand has very nice color and good looks. But as a TV cabinet it fails somewhat. The depth of the stand is not enough for most components. My Yamaha receiver and HTPC barely fit and I had to buy angled power/hdmi cables to fit them. The height of the shelves is also not enough for a modern receivers. Also, the designer has not though about circulation at all and most components heat up in no time.

In summary, it is a great looking stand with issues with usability.

This is not so much a product endorsement as a testimony to genius. Can you wrap your newspaper tightly enough to burn for an hour or more? I don't think you can. But this can. Can you think of a gift more appropriate for earth-conscious senior citizens with lots of time on their hands, but no way to get to the store for Presto Logs or some other unholy pressed substance to stick in their fireplace on a cold and wintry night? I defy you to produce anything so fitting as this singular invention.

Get the Spin-a-Log. Thank me later. Your fireplace, your home, your very world will never be the same.

The only expensive part is the switch you push your leg up against for variable speed control and those ain't that expensive. Anyone can build a wooden jig to hold the drill in place and press the trigger that controls the drill.

The drill bit attachment is obviously a drill bit centered with epoxy or some other putty type medium and two rods coming out the other end. You painted them pink. As you did the wooden Jig for the switch and the jig for the drill itself. I would say at tops you have $10 to $15 worth of materials. To me this is not even a invention. It is just jigs anyone and his kids can make. It must have cost a fortune for those two new water hose clamps? You don't even include the main part to the product, the drill itself. That is the largest expense.

I would have used a electric motor on a platform with a half tube large 4" PVC type sewage pipe and have those rods attached on the motor and make it look somewhat like the log rollers with the hand cranks on them and have a long bar roller on top spring loaded to keep the newspaper tight and feed paper like you did. For that matter just buy a hand crank one and save electricity.

For that matter just make a attachment to the crank rollers already on the market where they have a pressure roller coming down from above to keep the log nice and tight as you feed and crank. Your deal here is not a patent, it is a jury rig log roller with a drill and jigs.

Now since I gave everyone the idea of how to change existing log rollers more than 5% to be patented I would appreciate at least 10% of the profit you make with your patent? That is if you do it.

What I learned with tight paper logs rolls is that unless you already have a fire going with some good hot burning wood those paper logs do not burn easily. You need something in it to give it more combustibility like lent form your dryer lent trap in-between the pieces of compressed paper. Or even candle wax mixed into the paper. Have your kids take crayons and draw all over the paper first then roll it up. That will work? :) What you have here is a joke and a rip off though.

The pit looks great just like in the picture. Sturdy construction and nice attention to detail. It's probably the best pit you can get for the money. However, the main reason why I'm writing this review is not because of the product, but what happened when I ordered. Yeah, I know this is supposed to be a product review, but bear with me.

FedEx had delivered the box in a sorry state. The deliveryman basically gave me a tattered ruin of a box and said sorry. When I opened it all up, the table was missing a leg and the mesh grille top was dented and mangled. Who do I call about this? FedEx? Amazon? Uniflame, or the distributor in Illinois? I decided to call Uniflame first and I'm happy I did. Within three minutes I had ordered new parts for free, and was told to expect them within a few days. The customer service reps were extremely friendly and understanding and trusting of their customers. What a company should be. Thanks!

It's like having a campfire in your yard. I have a wood burning fireplace but the ashes, some smoke, and worrying about the tv have me hesitant to use it much. This firepit for the price is fantastic. The stone edging looks great. I was worried it would be too small, but it fits 3 pieces of wood just fine which is all you need. You COULD put 4 or more but it would be crowded and the fire would probably be too large. Put your feet up, sit a mug on the ledge and enjoy. DO keep some tongs or a poker nearby to keep stirring the wood but that's normal when burning real wood. It went together very easily though I used a 12mm(?) socket wrench instead of the included flat wrench. I have not used the cover while the wood is burning it doesn't look like it will stand up to much heat. But I think it's great for covering once the wood has burned and you have ashes/coals left. My wife and I can't stop talking about it and enjoying it and the kids like it too.

Some details:

The bowl does have a few holes in the bottom for airflow.

There's only 1 bowl so the bottom will get hot. Just watch the kids running around. Wonder if a double bowl would help.

The legs have rubber feet but are not adjustable in height so you have to rotate it until you find all 4 legs are touching the ground at the same time.

The copper accents are little copper squares inlaid in the tile.

The metal is painted and if chipped, might possibly rust.

Assembly is 2 screws for the handle on the cover, 4 cap nuts on each leg (16 total). All use lockwashers.

There's a small circular grill for holding the wood off the bottom (to promote airflow I presume).

I recommend getting a cover that has elastic or buckles. The cover I purchased has both.

I look forward to many evenings in the backyard.

I bought this fire pit as a result of the positive reviews. I have used this fire pit for only one season. I am able to bring it into the cellar so it doesn't sit out in the rain. (although i did purchase a cover for it too) I have had maybe 15-20 fires in it thru the spring and summer and it is slowly coming apart! The tiles are coming loose and then falling off! The material used to keep the tiles together is disintegrating with each use! Pretty soon I am gonna be left with a black shell and a bowl. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

We have enjoyed using the firepit, which is attractive and functional and easy to assemble. The carton arrived somewhat worse for wear, but the parts were all present and undamaged.

The main limitation is that the screen is fairly coarse (roughly 1/4" mesh), so small sparks sometimes rise in the air for some distance, and occasionally land outside the firepit while still glowing.

We have the firepit on our deck, over a fireproof mat, which is in turn on top of some concrete pavers. That is quite enough to keep the deck safe, but the firepit should not be used over bare wood, given how hot the bowl gets. It would probably not set a deck on fire, but it might well scorch it a bit.

This fire pit is the best quality of all the ones I have reviewed and have seen in action. It was so easy to put together. It goes great with the patio set I have. My husband and I enjoy sitting on the deck at night around the fire pit. The only thing I could recommend is that a poker with a lever for easy handling when taking off the screen should be included. You need to keep a oven mitt handy...
