This clock is awesome, and it's been going for three years strong. The only complaint that I could think of is how flimsy the hands are, but they probably needed to keep them really lightweight for the motor in the clock. I really like the look of it, and it's held up to the test of time. I'd recommend this to someone else.

Love this piece, it is exactly as described and looks amazing above my fireplace. There is not a back to the clock so if you have it on a darker wall color like i do it may be a bit hard to tell the time. This is not an issue for me because i got it more for the look. (i can still tell the time it just takes a few seconds longer to locate the hands) If this style matches your house you won't be disappointed with this clock!

This set is your basic gas log set. No pilot lights, no valves, no nothing but a burner tube, rack, logs, and gas line feed. Why 5 stars? The logs are terrific. The quality of the logs is second to none. They look as real as they can. And I expect they will last for years and years.

Installing this set isn't too difficult, provided that you are able to follow the basic, one-size-fits-all instruction booklet. My gas inlet is on the left side of the fire box, and the instructions assume the inlet being on the right. So I improvised by adding a 12" flexible extension pipe and coupling that to the feed line supplied with the kit.

The next thing to watch out for is the aluminum tubing that they expect you to bend without kinking it. There is a trick to doing this right and that is to fill the tube with sand before bending it. Still, be careful.

You will need Teflon tape for the couplings (or pipe dope.) So get your tools and supplies together before you start.

Anyway, this is a beautiful set that works as great as it looks. (The picture on the web is an accurate representation of the product.)

We installed these gas logs into our existing "real" fireplace with chimney and absolutely LOVE them. everyone that comes into my house comments on how realistic the logs are (once they realize it is a gas set) it is easy to create that firelight ambiance with this product. my only comment is that i did not realize this set did not include a safety valve until the set was installed. that information was included in the description, buried toward the end, and i didn't notice it. it would have helped me if that information would have been much more prominent! the safety valve was an additional $140 so that significantly increased the cost over what i was expecting. other than that, the experience was excellent. shipping was fast and the set arrived in great condition.

Real value for the money, set came within days of ordering, complete with all components including flexible gas line kit with connectors. Instructions are very thorough, installed set easily in 45 minutes. Arranged the logs per the recommendations provided, they look fantastic, very impressive! The ember kit gives you the real look. Finally, these are more than just gas logs, they provide a wealth of radiat heat, the ceramic logs give off a termendous amount of heat into the family room. Have run gas for approximately hour and a half in the evening then shut the gas off and allow the ceramic logs to continue to emit residual heat for up to an hour and a half. I bought two of these in the same order and neither one of them worked properly. The threaded fittings were loose, making the fit of the two pieces wobbly. Eventually, they both just fell apart. Woodland Direct was really good to deal with and has agreed to refund my money without making me mail the things back. I wish I could say who does make a good blow poke these days, but I am still searching. Too bad Plow and Hearth changed their design. Those were great ones.

The blow poker looks good and the "blow" function really helps get a fire going. It ships in 2 pieces with a threaded connection between the lower tube and the handle/mouthpiece. This is a weak point, both in terms of manufacturing tolerances and strength of the poker. We had to replace the first one, which came with the threads stripped. Minuteman was great about doing the replacement no objections and fast service, and the second one fits together snugly. However it will never be a heavy duty poker: neither the thickness of the steel tubing nor the threaded connection are designed for use as a lever on big logs.

To be fair, it isn't priced like a heavy duty unit either. So, as a moderately priced unit for the weekend fireplace user, it's fine.

I don't often leave reviews. Sorry, not worth my time to share insight. However, I had such high hopes for this product (given its premium price point, among other things) that the disappointment I found led me to the motivation to encourage others to look at the Mfg pictures and go it alone. The design is as simple as it appears.

To comment directly to the previous poster, the reason you can't find the leak is because you have to move the plastic around where the inflation tube meets the plastic bag to expose it enough to bubble obviously (this isn't 32 PSI in a car tire after all, it's 2 PSI in a plastic bag). The concept is excellent, but, using what must be a 2mil plastic bag (typical "Zip-lock" bag thickness) attached directly to hard plastic hardware is a bad idea.

Mine held up great the first time I put it in place (for nearly 6 months it held air, no problem). However, after deflating it, taking it out (to use the fireplace) and putting it back in place days later, it developed a leak and started deflating within hours. I too (as the previous poster noted) sprayed it with soapy water trying to find the leak, only to find it was too slow to easily locate. However, based on a suspicion I had from the initial unwrap, I eventually started to move the plastic hardware around slightly and then the leak was obvious.

The Mfg has apparently tried to address this issue by connecting a rubber band between the top and bottom hard plastic hardware, conceptually distributing the load pressure across the hardware while inflated. However, because the sole "handle" to position the "balloon" is it's own air inflation valve, it eventually stretches/tears into the cheap plastic bag balloon. In the previous poster's case it apparently occurred in the initial installation; in my case after one removal/replacement.

To the Mfg: Thanks for the idea, I will take your concept and improve upon it (I need a solution that will last for years to come). That being said; I have plenty else on my plate and my time can be bought. Send me a handful of 12" x 12" bags (saving me the production effort) and I will remove my negative post and send you some recommended design changes.

If you are going to charge $45 for something that can't cost you more than $1 in materials, at least come up with a "Better than you can do in Two Hours" design.

The Chimney Balloon sounds like a good idea, but mine doesn't stay inflated. I understand that the instructions say to "check every 3 months to make sure its still doing its job and that you may very occasionally need to top up the air". But I thought that meant it would partially deflate every few months. My balloon deflates within a few hours. I removed the balloon and checked it for leaks. I even placed it in my bathtub and used the soapy water test to check for holes. No luck. I couldn't find a single leak. I suppose it could be the cold winter air from inside the chimney that's deflating it. Hmm, so what can I say? From the online reviews it seems to work for others, but not so well for me.

30" BLK WI Fire Grate Review

This is a very sturdy fire grate with thick bars running the length of the cradle. Since buying I've dropped it, dropped 30lb logs on it, and burned about a cord of hardwood sitting on it. It has held up with no issues now going on three months. Overall I'd say it's performing better than expected. It certainly beat our old grate that had skinny little tines and completely collapsed after a year.

Made for cleaning the white build up on the inside of gas fireplace glass, this product works well when following the instructions closely. I have read reviews that claimed it didn't work. I think the reviewers either did not "rub vigorously with a new paper towel" per the instructions or the residue was allowed to build up for so long that it was impossible to clean off. It took me 10 minutes of rubbing and wiping to make my glass fireplace window clear as new. I would recommend this product.

I ordered this item and used it to replace the extremely wore ash dump in my fire place. It fit the opening much looser than the old had. In a side by side comparison, the replacement is about a sixteenth inch smaller on both length and width. I cant say that it is not what I ordered but it is definitely not what I had expected. I am to say. less then happy with this item .

The old ash dump cover had rusted through in this 50 year old bungalow. We put in this new item, which fit well, then repainted firewall with heat-resistant paint, then refaced brick veneer with marble (surprisingly inexpensive), and put house on the market. Constant stream of oh's-and-ah's.

I didn't see noticeable difference in the house on it giving a fresh clean scent, but it does help with the central vacuum main collection bin.

Feather Lite Carpet & Vacuum Freshener is made by Huff Industries. The medium used to hold the fragrance is Perlite, a very light Styrofoam-like material the size of aquarium gravel.

I'm not a big fan of "sprinkle this on the carpet, only to vacuum it up," but if that's how you roll this product performs very well. I'm using it two ways. I place a couple of tablespoons of it my vacuum tank (bagless-style vacuum cleaner) which then gives the air a fresh scent as I vacuum. Also, I place a tablespoon of this in my indoor trash receptacles to keep them fresh.

I chose the "Fresh and Clean" fragrance as a personal preference over the more fruity or herbal scents.

I like this product and the price is great as well.

The pit looks great just like in the picture. Sturdy construction and nice attention to detail. It's probably the best pit you can get for the money. However, the main reason why I'm writing this review is not because of the product, but what happened when I ordered. Yeah, I know this is supposed to be a product review, but bear with me.

FedEx had delivered the box in a sorry state. The deliveryman basically gave me a tattered ruin of a box and said sorry. When I opened it all up, the table was missing a leg and the mesh grille top was dented and mangled. Who do I call about this? FedEx? Amazon? Uniflame, or the distributor in Illinois? I decided to call Uniflame first and I'm happy I did. Within three minutes I had ordered new parts for free, and was told to expect them within a few days. The customer service reps were extremely friendly and understanding and trusting of their customers. What a company should be. Thanks!

It's like having a campfire in your yard. I have a wood burning fireplace but the ashes, some smoke, and worrying about the tv have me hesitant to use it much. This firepit for the price is fantastic. The stone edging looks great. I was worried it would be too small, but it fits 3 pieces of wood just fine which is all you need. You COULD put 4 or more but it would be crowded and the fire would probably be too large. Put your feet up, sit a mug on the ledge and enjoy. DO keep some tongs or a poker nearby to keep stirring the wood but that's normal when burning real wood. It went together very easily though I used a 12mm(?) socket wrench instead of the included flat wrench. I have not used the cover while the wood is burning it doesn't look like it will stand up to much heat. But I think it's great for covering once the wood has burned and you have ashes/coals left. My wife and I can't stop talking about it and enjoying it and the kids like it too.

Some details:

The bowl does have a few holes in the bottom for airflow.

There's only 1 bowl so the bottom will get hot. Just watch the kids running around. Wonder if a double bowl would help.

The legs have rubber feet but are not adjustable in height so you have to rotate it until you find all 4 legs are touching the ground at the same time.

The copper accents are little copper squares inlaid in the tile.

The metal is painted and if chipped, might possibly rust.

Assembly is 2 screws for the handle on the cover, 4 cap nuts on each leg (16 total). All use lockwashers.

There's a small circular grill for holding the wood off the bottom (to promote airflow I presume).

I recommend getting a cover that has elastic or buckles. The cover I purchased has both.

I look forward to many evenings in the backyard.

I bought this fire pit as a result of the positive reviews. I have used this fire pit for only one season. I am able to bring it into the cellar so it doesn't sit out in the rain. (although i did purchase a cover for it too) I have had maybe 15-20 fires in it thru the spring and summer and it is slowly coming apart! The tiles are coming loose and then falling off! The material used to keep the tiles together is disintegrating with each use! Pretty soon I am gonna be left with a black shell and a bowl. VERY DISAPPOINTING!

We have enjoyed using the firepit, which is attractive and functional and easy to assemble. The carton arrived somewhat worse for wear, but the parts were all present and undamaged.

The main limitation is that the screen is fairly coarse (roughly 1/4" mesh), so small sparks sometimes rise in the air for some distance, and occasionally land outside the firepit while still glowing.

We have the firepit on our deck, over a fireproof mat, which is in turn on top of some concrete pavers. That is quite enough to keep the deck safe, but the firepit should not be used over bare wood, given how hot the bowl gets. It would probably not set a deck on fire, but it might well scorch it a bit.

This Infrared Heater works very well in my 1300 sq ft. home. So far it has gotten down to the mid's 30's and I can heat my whole house with this unit and keep it around 74 degrees even the back bedrooms! I don't even use my new heat pump anymore but I still keep it set to 69 degrees. Another reason why this works so well in my home is because 7 months ago I had insulation blown in my attic and 2 years ago I had new windows put in. The insulation made a huge difference in saving money and holding heat longer in the house. I have all tile floors throughout my home. By having tile floors it will make your home colder so by having carpet this unit would work even better. When I put the unit in my living room and turn it on, it only takes about 5-6 minutes (during the day/ set on high) for it to raise the temp by 1 degree. The unit cycles on and off correctly even at night. For me, there is usally a 1 degree difference between the temp reading on my heat pump (thermostate placed in hallway) compared to the infrared heater placed in my living room. I am more than pleased about this unit. I was amazed how small the infrared heater was but yet it heated up a lot of living space.

This infrared heater will heat up to 1500 sq ft. easy as long as you have good insulation in your home. The most compliants that I have heard about this unit is that it will not heat a garage. Duh! Just about all garages doesn't have or very little insulation. So if your home has poor insulation then don't expect much from this unit or any other unit.

I actually bought mine from TigerDirect because the price was $159-179.99 but TD has been selling them like crazy and has been sold out a lot too. I'm happy that I was able to get one before December month started. My family is also looking to buy a infrared heater and I am going to recommend this one to them. Mine works so well that I am thinking about buy another one so that I can control the heat better.

This Infrared Heater needs 15amps to power it. I can plug it into my living room outlet and everything is fine but I plugged the unit into my hallway outlet which it connected to 2 of my bedrooms and the lights dimmed. 1 of those rooms I have my gaming PC/ 2 LCD monitors with my LCD TV, Surround Sound Theater, and PS3 all running the same time. So if your lights dimms then change the unit to a different outlet. Do Not continually run the Infrared Heater off that outlet because you are pulling too many amps and the electrical wiring is heating up and if your breaker doesn't trip then it can catch fire and burn your house down. Run the unit first during the day to make sure everything is fine before you run it at night while you are asleep. This Infrared Heater is very safe to use but you still have to use some common sense with it.
