I think showing the list price of $99.99 is very inflated. The "On sale" price of $37.00 is more in line with what I think it's worth.

I'll have to wait to see how it stands up to use. The black part part is hopefully not going to be scratched up by laying wood on it. We can't tell by looking how the metal is colored and I won't let hubby try scratching it to see how strong the color is.. ÜÜÜ

For what we paid I think it's a fair purchase but I do resent it being passed it off as something much nicer then it is.

Well, we've used this for a couple of months now and it's holding up great! No scratches on the black surface at all which was my main fear.

Still think the 'sale price' is the honest amount to pay and can't imagine who, in good faith, would give it a $99.99 price listing.

If you are going through heavy wood use, which we do in the winter, this is not the item for you . Kindling yes, logs NO . I use it to hold logs and the handle pops off all the time, needed to put super glue on the threads . Probably last another winter.

I use this for holding my kindling, fire-starter wood, and don't carry anything in it. It is made sturdy enough for filling with kindling but I wouldn't put heavy pieces of wood in it. I have another holder for those. It was easy to put together, which is a plus for me, and it looks nice.

The craftsmanship of this mantel is terrible, even taking into account the low price. The edges are not aligned at all--1/2 an inch off in some part, and the nails had already split some of the wood. I had to return the item and am grateful that the return process was fairly smooth.

Fan feels like a quality product. Adjustable speed is a very nice feature. The fan can be a little loud at full speed so I dialed it back a bit. My only complaint is the installation instruction. It was fairly easy to install, but had to ask an electrician friend of mine to look at it because I was unsure about where to put the ground wire, and duh, it just clips on any part inside the fireplace. It blows really well for its small size and really pushes a lot of hot air into the room. I feel like our fireplace, which has a thermostat, runs half the time and heats the room twice as well. The sensor works perfectly. There are no instructions for someone who is not technical, just a diagram of what goes where, so if you are that person call a really smart friend to help.

The blower arrived but didn't have the right "hook-up" instructions to connect the wires to the existing wiring in my fireplace. So--thanks to the internet: fireplaceblowersonline-top of page 2) I found the instructions that perfectly showed me the way, and 15 minutes later, the blower was up and running. Works good!

I knew that it would look darker than the picture because the picture is backlit but I didn't think that it would be more green than blue. That said, it is still a beautiful piece. Bought this item thinking it would work on gel fuel cans, well was I wrong thanks to the misleading ad. Sellers ad does not say that it, ONLY TAKES GEL CARTRIDGES and nothing else will work. So beware gel cans will not fit in the hole, the space is big enough for gel cartridges only.

But the other problem is noone online carries Gel Cartridges you will have a hard time finding them, which makes these logs useless.

Also this seller (OCProducts) will not give full refund, he wants 20% restocking fee wants shipping cost going and coming. By the time you are done sending product back you are out 60% of cost which to me is worthless if you are trying to save a buck. And thats a rip off. I would rate this 0 stars but you can not so he gets 1 star not worth it.

Seller has no customer service number will not return emails. So you should think twice before buying from this seller OCProducts.

I do love this log and only wish it was easier to find the gel cartridges. I have been able to find them at smokelesslog.com but wish I could get them on Amazon. Other than that hassle, the cartridges seem to burn well and without the nasty alcohol odor that can happen with some of the cans. Heats up my living space 2 3 degrees and I love the "crackle".

This is just what I was looking for...a log to accommodate the cartridge gel. I dislike the can gels as they give off an awful odor. I found the cartridge type gel that is scented with Pine, Vanilla and Cinnamon. Unfortunately, you have to change the log to accommodate the cartridge. I used the cartridges when I lost electricity for 9 days during hurricane Sandy. It gave off enough heat to bring the temperature up from 58 degrees to 65 degrees. I have another free standing fireplace that uses gel so I'm converting this one of the cartridges also This log is a much better price than the original and it's exactly the same.
