We purchased the fire pit for use in the Southern Arizona High Desert. A major consideration is fire safety. The screened cover for the top is heavy, fits well, and keeps the sparks in the pit. The animals outlined on the side of the device are also totally screened. We have used the pit several times now with just my wife and I as well as to cook and roast marshmallows with visitors. The grill fits very well and food cooks quickly. We burn only mesquite wood, cut on our property. The pit drafts very well and I start the fire with just one wadded full sheet of newspaper. Charcoal lighter fluid is unnecessary. The fire burns well, the sparks stay behind the screens, and ash dust is all that remains after it burns out. The animal outlines on the sides of the pit are just beautiful in the darkness. The pit is large enough to provide a warm and beautiful fire without approaching its considerable capactiy. The poker that comes with the unit is heavy and works well. The pit itself comes almost totally assembled. Attaching the legs is the only thing required. When you want to move the unit, the rail around the top remains cool and makes it easy to reposition it.

My wife and I are very pleased with the firepit and highly recommend it.

This is a great product which has expanded the use of our backyard and created fun family time. There's nothing like roasting marshmallows to bring all ages together. I especially enjoy this design because the fire is completely contained. I'm confident in leaving the fire without dousing it with water.

Good size for small backyard fire.

Cut outs add to aesthetics.

Works well as a BBQ with a fairly large amount of charcoal. Small grilling jobs are better done on a smaller BBQ.

Fit and Finish is good but not excellent. The protective ring around the top does not line up cleanly leaving a small gap. Otherwise sturdy and well made.

I appreciate the added depth compared to what some other brands offer. Allows for a satisfying size fire.

I recommend this item.

I have been looking for a good firepit now for the past few months and had Narrowed down from this model to another Landmann favorite the illustrious Landmann USA 28925 Ball of Fire Outdoor Fireplace.

The reason why I didn't choose the Ball of Fire is for one big reason, I didn't want to fork over 50 bucks more for what seems to me a very gimmicky/flimsy firepit. I mean sure it looks cool and all but I am looking for longevity and practicality. Cause lets face it not every homeowners association might fancy themselves with this item so close to other neighbors. Whereas this model seems more enclosed yet offers a very unique experience with the animal cut outs.

Lets get down to brass tax, this product is very well put together, the look and feel of it is heavy and is pretty much what you are looking for in terms of long term prospects. It took me maybe 15 to 20 minutes to get it fully setup. There was one cosmetic issue with mine preventing me from screwing in a section of the ring handle, but after man handling it, it went through with no issues.

I actually haven't taken this thing out yet for a spin as I just got the item today but I plan to use it in the next week as the weather improves. Once I do that I'll be sure to update this review and let you all know if it truly is worth a 5 star rating.

Also on a side note, and a pearl of wisdom. Buy yourself some Rust-Oleum 241169 High Heat Ultra Enamel Spray, Black, 12-Ounce. Put yourself a nice coat on everything to help prevent rust. Also invest in a Grill cover..a good one, not that cheap stuff that can't keep the rain out. Be sure to buy some regular play sand to put in the bottom of the bowl too, it will help ensure you have this thing for many years.

The reason I say these things is because the negative reviews I've been seeing from various users, is really on their part for not taking care of their pit. If you put in the effort to take care of something you will get more out of it. Hope this review helps you in your decision in purchasing this item. Any questions feel free to ask!

**After using the Firepit, I have to say the experience is well worth it. The animal cut outs were definitely a conversational piece and it just looks really nice, the spark arrestor did its job well and I just cannot wait to continue using this pit. Be sure to get that Rustolem and a pit cover!**

I have had this item for 2 years, and it still very sturdy. Does great out in the weather. Glad I didn't put a in gound fire pit, you just pick this one up and take the fun with you.

From the moment I opened the box I realized how well made this item is. Packaged neat and properly and all the pieces fit together perfectly. It is made from heavy sturdy material and my experience tells me it will last for many years. Cooked dinner on it the first night we got it and the grilling grate is a terrific bonus. Then added wood to the coals and enjoyed a long night of fire. The extra depth adds both a level of safety and it also helps tremendously with drafting to keep the fire going. The cut out allow tons of air to feed the fire. It is a nicely made, decent sized fire pit that was worth the money on the first time using it. I highly recommend!

I live in a newer home that has a vent tube going up from the fireplace and not a traditional brick or stone fireplace. This works great in between professional cleanings to help keep the creosote from building up inside the vent tube. Make sure you follow the instructions and only throw it on hot coals, not a newly lit fire. If the coals are not really hot it will extinguish the fire.

We were in the process of remodeling our living room and finally upgrading to a flat screen TV form the old tube version. Looking for a simply, yet nice style tv stand and this fit the bill. Overall, I am satisfied with the piece, delivery through Amazon, and quality of the unit. My issues lie in that not all parts were in the box (missing screws, the magnets to hold the doors closed and the covers for the locking pins). The instructions were good, one aspect was backwards, but I figured it out before getting to far long.

As for the missing parts, a quick trip to Home Depot for the screws and magnets, and I was all set. The cap covers for the locking pins, eh, not the end of the world.

I have been searching for months for the perfect entertainment center. I would have liked to find one cheaper but this was well worth the extra money. This has been one of the easier pieces to put together, it took me 2 hours but I was also watching a hockey game while I was putting it together. You can see why it cost a little more then most stands and I'm glad I spent the money on this one. I am very pleased with my purchased.

This unit looks great and was easy to assemble. It is heavy, so I'd recommend two people. If for no other reason than the fact that the comments in other reviews regarding the fragile finish are NOT understated. It is a solid piece of furniture and everything you need to assemble is included. I managed to assemble it without a scratch with the help of my wife. Took us about 90 minutes.

The color is stunning. However, when I slid my phonograph on the lowest center shelf (it has soft rubber feet), they left a mark. It touched up but that's an example of how light the finish is. I also had to use a filler on the top because from certain angles in bright light the finish looked porous. Easy fixes, but not a piece of furniture I would recommend for a busy household.

I have received several compliments about the piece. So, for the cost I feel like I did well. Just expect what you might expect from any piece of furniture you assemble yourself.

I am very happy with this item as a fire starter. I only have one complaint, and it is minor. I would have liked to see the sticks wrapped in paper. Red paper preferrably, but any paper would do. The reason is two fold. One, functionality. It would be easier to just light the paper surrounding the stick and allow it to start that way. Two, looks. It would look closer to the Real McCoy if it was wrapped. All this product is is your standard fire log you buy at wally world, or home improvement stores. It is exactly the same as a duraflame box of fire logs that last 4 hours or however long they are lasting these days. These are just smaller, and in stick form. Which is cool, I only bought this product because it was supposed to look like dynamite, The box is awesome! I love the wood box, and all the markings. It is filled with wood chips/sawdust to complete that look. They also serve as tinder if need be. All in all a great product. I will be wrapping mine in red paper though so as to complete the look. Might even make fuses, who knows.

I didn't care much for all the saw dust that came in the box, but the sticks work great. I would recommend not using a whole one to start a fire. Rather, you should break them in half, since that is all you need to start a good fire. The box comes in handy for storage too.

We received a box of Dynamite Fire Starters as a gift three years ago. They are fantastic! The sticks are actually pretty, and half a stick is all we need to start a fire. This does NOT have candle spikes or even level cups. It came poorly packaged and in fact the front cup was bent way back. My hundand had to put it in a vise to straighten it out. Its kinda cheap for the $. I had expected better quality. I do like how many candles it holds and the arragement.

I cannot speak firmly enough when I say do not buy this item. I got this as a present to keep my apartment warm. It was cute and easy to use so it seemed perfect. The first time I used it, it made strange noises, like a popping sound and it smelled funny but I figured it was just "settling" and that the smell was dust or something burning off. I used it for about an hour. The next night I lit it up and was watching tv when my boyfriend came over and said that my apartment interior was hazy and smelled like chemicals. We looked at the fireplace and noticed that the coating on the outside was bubbling and flaking away. We tried to put the fire out by closing the lid on the little firebox part but it had become warped by the heat and the fire just burned around it. We eventually did get the fire out but my apartment smelled for two days afterwards. I will be returning this. The smell of the fumes made both my boyfriend and myself sick. I got the fireplace to keep my apartment warm and ended up having to have my windows open to get the fumes out. In a smaller space, I think the fumes would have quickly become overwhelming and hurt someone.

To be clear, this was not the smell of the ethanol burning, it was a distinctively chemical smell and my apartment was actually hazy.

Bought this fireplace about a month ago and have used it at least 5 times. Looks great in my mid century modern home. Did not have any problems with melting or smells. Brings great atmosphere. Easy to assemble, easy to use.

I am very frustrated with this product. When the box arrived, it looked liked it had been opened previously and then resealed with new tape. My first thought was, I hope this isn't a product that has been returned by another consumer this could be a problem. So I was pleasantly surprised when I set it up, it came on right away had a nice look and the heat output was good. This lasted for little more than 20 minutes, then it went off. I reviewed the troubleshooting portion of the instructions and tried a couple of the suggestions but nothing no light, no heat nothing. If nothing else works, I have no choice than to return it!

We bought it for our bedroom, heats up the bedroom very nice, and thats just on the low setting. It is also is nice to look at. The only problem we have is that when it was shipped the back of the remote that covers the battery was in pieces, the heater was packed well, but the remote wasnt. All in all we like this heater.

I love it. I bought it for my bedroom. I leave the flames on all night. The heater is great but I wish it has either a timer or a thermometer on it. The remote came crushed but it was promptly replaced. Easy to put together if you lay it on a bench, etc to screw on the base. I have it setting on a desk under my wall mounted TV. Nice ambiance to my room.

We purchased the Duraflame Portable Infrared Quartz Fireplace from Northern Tools, via Amazon. This is one of the best purchases ever; we love it! We live in Michigan and wanted something to warm our family room where we spend most of our time without turning up the main furnace. Duraflame is one of the top brands for safety and dependability. The unit is cool to the touch, and the flames are surprisingly realistic. The 1500 watts is more than adequate to heat our family room of 26 feet by 12 feet with a 9 foot ceiling. There is a low hum from the unit, but it isn't annoying. The Duraflame was purchased in late September 2012 and has been in use every morning and evening October through December (about 8 hours each day). Duraflame says their basic units will cost approximately $30 per month if used 8 hours per day. This unit has a programable temperature, so the unit will use less energy. Come warm weather, we'll wheel the unit into the spare room. We highly recommend Duraflame's Portable Infrared Quartz Fireplace thank you Amazon, and kudos to Northern Tools for their great service and incredibly fast shipping.

Works very well to make our 3 season room almost 4 seasons. We ordered ours in medium oak, however it arrived with a different wood. A call to the supplier and we were offered to receive the correct model or accept a rebate. I have been in business long enough to know that there will be occasional problems and this one was handled professionally.

I'm a bit puzzled by the bad reviews. Either 2 different carriers are being shipped when this product is ordered, or some buyers are mistaken about it's fabric. The small tight weave of the canvas and the slight sheen of the material could cause some to think that it's nylon; however, mine is definitely a canvas carrier. In addition, the inner nylon liner is waterproof (keeping water and dirt from leaking through and staining my carpet). I hauled in a 2'x 2'x 6' stack from the woodpile upon receiving it and its no worse for wear. This carrier should last at least 3 seasons. It's not the deal of the century, but its easily worth twice the price (and no shipping cost with Prime). I hope that this helps.

I've been carrying firewood in my arms for years when I saw this and scoffed, why? But I now wish I had got one a long time ago. It has proven to keep the floor cleaner, I can make fewer trips since I can carry more without dropping any. For the price, this is very tough and I'm very satisfied with the quality. Since it doesn't take much room, it is easily stored the rest of the year. This is a a handy carrier and would recommend it if you burn much firewood. I keep mine burning most of the winter so it gets lots of use.

I purchased this log tote mainly to save my jackets from splinters. I usually bring in wood to burn from our "log bin" and it gets pretty messy. Now I just take this tote out with me, lay it flat and start stacking! I can bring in a lot of wood in one trip. The tote gets awfully heavy, but has never ripped or torn in the month I've used it. I use it atleast 2-3 times per day! I highly recommend this tote. Nothing fancy, but it's large enough to do a great job! The handle straps are sewn the entire away around the material so they will never tear away.
