I just received and assembled this product and am very pleased with the quality. It is made in the USA and includes directions written by a fluent English speaker. It was very easy to assemble and is forged of solid, heavy steel coated with a wax finish. It is quite small and probably only holds an evening's worth of wood for a small stove, but it is perfect for my small house.

I picked this thermometer since the picture shows that it has hash marks around the entire face allowing a pretty accurate read of the temperature no matter where it is. Instead, I received a thermometer that only has two labeled temperature points: at 235*F and 475*F :-| I received the same model number as advertised. The contents are just different.

Two stars since it still works just fine, but I wanted more delineation on the pointer. I can extrapolate the temperature, but I shouldn't have too.

This woodstove pipe thermometer is almost exactly like the one it replaced (also by Condar) which finally broke after 19 years. Hope this one lasts as long. It was the best priced of all thermometers I looked at. Easy to see temperature ranges marked "best operation", "too hot", etc.

If you were buying this specifically for the incremental numbering (as pictured), be advised that the actual product has a gray zone that indicates best operation, but you will not get a specific temperature read. It obviously works in the sense that you can still keep an optimal operating temperature, but some of us geeks like hard data, down to the degree. Otherwise, seems like a great product.

I have been looking for a nice large electric fireplace for about 2 years under $500. This one came and it is great! It is large enough to make a statement and have a prominent place in the room. The assembly took me about 1.5 hours and was not that difficult -you just need a screwdriver. The heater on the fireplace produces heat immediately and warms a room about 20'x20' nicely. Various settings for the flames, logs, and heater -it's simply wonderful for a snowy day!

This is a very nice fireplace bought to put in a finished family room in the basement and it looks great. Although it has been very hot this summer, I tried the heater for about 30 minutes and it puts out nice warmth think it will be pefect to keep the room cozy this winter. HOWEVER, beware Amazon advertised this as 12 month free financing and it was not. When I called customer service, they told me that I was at least the 5th person they had talked to that had misunderstood the way that Amazon was advertising the deferred financing.

I really like this little guy. It was easy to assemble. It cranks out some serious heat. So far so good. The only complaint I have about it, is that the grill on the front gets REALLY hot when it's turned on. I guess it makes it more like a real fireplace! :)

I would recommend this fireplace to anyone who is looking to supplement their furnace heat to save on costs. And also for anyone who wants to add a little coziness to any room in their house.

Product was shipped in timely manner. Easy to assemble. Functions OK, gets the job done. That's the good part. Now tune in for the bad.

1. One of the wheels was badly warped, out of round. To me this is evidence of poor or non-existent quality control. Actually the cart functions OK w/ the wobbly wheel, but it irritates the crud out of me to have a piece of equipment that looks so shoddy when it is rolling.

2. Shortly after using it a while, one of the wheel bolts fell off. Fortunately this occurred on a cement pad so I saw it. After that I checked all the bolts and tightened them just to be safe. Again, lousy quality control.

3. Other carts sourced in China have been shipped with a plastic cover and buyers have complained about the foul odor when they unpacked the box. Well guess what, this unit had the same odor. I hung the cover in my barn for a few days and the odor seemed to go away, but someone who was unpacking this thing in a house would not be happy.

4. Most serious issue is the PRICE vs. components and quality. I was looking for an inexpensive cart just to haul wood up to my porch, one w/ wheels big enough to navigate steps. Other units cost up to $225 and did not seem to be that complex. So I went with this one. So folks, here is my assessment. I think it is overpriced by a factor of about 2X. At $75, given the quality issues cited above, and the simplicity of the design and the strength of the steel, etc. this is a rip off. If were priced at $35, I would be pleased and not complaining too much. I figure it has about $2 of direct labor, about $9 of materials, and maybe another $10 for packaging and shipping. In other words, a cost of 20-something landed on U. S. East coast. So the seller is making a fortune. Caveat Emptor!!

Lastly, we as Americans ought to be ashamed of ourselves for letting the Chinese humiliate us like this. It is one thing to buy a quality product at a fair price, made in China, I am fine w/ that. But the fact is, with proper tooling and workflow, this cart could have been made in the USA. Not retailing for $35, mind you, but certainly for $75, and I would much rather buy America assuming the quality was top notch.

All in all, I gave this 1 star but I would have given it a negative 2 if I could have. Didn't send it back b/c too much hassle, but I sure am disappointed.

We are really pleased with our fireplace. It looks great in our living room. We live in a small townhouse, and the fireplace keeps the living room toasty. The heat output begins immediately to move the ceiling fan on it's own, as the heat rises. The furnace now rarely runs. The bedrooms are cool, which is how we like it. We live in South Carolina, so winter nights are cool but not frigid. Our electric bill (furnace is an electric heat exchanger) was less than expected last month. Will continue to evaluate this as the winter progresses. So far, very happy with this purchase.

If you buy a Dimplex product, cross your fingers that nothing breaks because if you have to call their customer service/technical support you are in for wild ride. It will take you about 2 hours on hold to get through to a live rep (who has that luxury??). They'll tell you it's their "busy season" meaning it's wintertime (duh!)

Now, if you're lucky enough to actually get through to a live rep, cross your fingers again that your problem wont require them sending out a rep to fix it, because you will be told to expect a call in one-to-two-days to set up an appointment (they wont give you the number to call yourself, you must wait for the call). But then the call doesn't come and you realize that your only recourse is to call Dimplex. Now your back to going on hold for two hours again.

The good news though is that if your fireplace breaks down in the middle of summer when you don't use it, you'll be able to get right through to one of their reps.

I love my fireplace, it is beautifully made and keeps my living room warm. My heat is in the ceiling so it always seemed cool. Now in the evening I turn the furnace way down and the fireplace keeps the room very comfortable. I highly recommend it. It was very easy for my son and daughter in law to put together, maybe took 1/2 hour and it is beautiful.

I bought this for my 7 year old who is an avid bug lover, and crickets are his favorite. He wants to be an Entamologist when he grows us. I gave him this and he absolutely loves it. My issue with it is the screws constantly need to be tightened. I moved it to dust his dresser and both legs fell because the screws won't stay tight. I am seriously thinking about super gluing them once I tighten them. Other than that, this was a great buy and made a little bug love super happy. He loves the gold color and he also loves the verdigris color that is also found.

We have had our new fireplace logs for about 2 weeks, and we use them most nights. We had the logs installed; it would have been a big job, I think, to install them ourselves. We saved a few hundred dollars from the estimate by a local fireplace store for the logs, but for a better product. This set is a dual burner, so the fire is all around and between the logs, just like a wood fire. The G45 is recommended over the G4 on the Real Frye web site as more efficient. We went with a smaller log set and a better burner. It looks good.

We purchased this Skytech controller to replace an Ambient unit that had shorted out after only five years use. Originally, we'd planned to replace the unit with the same brand, but Ambient was double the price (?) and as we couldn't order directly from Amazon, but were redirected to the Ambient site, they wanted us to pay somewhere around $11 for shipping.

So, not seeing that there was any additional value for the extra money, we decided to give the Skytech controller a try. Voila! It works like a charm, and unlike our previous Ambient unit, was very easy to set and control. One thing though, don't try to install this if you're not qualified to do so. My hubby is a master electrician, so this was a no-brainer for him. But for a person with no experience, please ask for help. (Safety first!)

The unit is really basic, with only an On-Auto-Off Switch and the remote control also has only On-Off-Timer-Set on its face. In a world where we are inundated with fancy gadgetry, it's nice to see a simple way to warm yourself by the fire. Buy it!

Well, I'm almost embarrassed by this one. Last night, I went to start the furnace and I didn't have a match. (For those of you who might question the December 14 starting date, well I live in San Diego, so eat your heart out.) Alas, and I needed one of those long wooden ones so I could reach into the innards of the furnace to ignite the pilot light. Well, I found a box of Diamond Greenlight "Strike on Box Matches" at a nearby store and all was solved. One match did the trick. Plus, there's 299 more of them so I'm stocked well into the future. It was a bit difficult to assemble due to vague instructions. I am pretty handy with all tools and I think someone else may have had a lot of trouble putting it together. The corners were a bit crushed in 2 places from shipping and a partical board cross member needed to be re glued and re nailed. With a little tlc it looks great.

I ordered this online because theres just tons more on line than in any store. and theres savings to be made. I found this great cabinet. Upon opening it and constructing it, there were many broken pieces. All the feet were broken. The bottom board was nearly spit in half, you can see stress fractures, the wood paneling they use was chipped all over the place and peeling off of the drawers.

I love the cabinet and would have loved it more if it weren't all banged up. I spend 220 on this and its not worth the money, being as damaged as it was.

When the order finally arrived a couple weeks after ordering the main top part of the stand (part H) has a large crack in it. I sent them a photo of it and 10 days later they sent out a replacement stand. I open the box and try to locate the part H I need and it has an even more massive crack line in it. I only needed the part H, but it's worth noting that half the pieces in the box had chips and cracks. The worst possible packing job. I no longer have trust in the product or the way it is packaged. I'm now in the process of trying to get a full refund as I shouldn't have to have parts sprawled out all over the family room floor for over a month. This is flat out ridiculous.
