They look real on our fire pit. I surrounded them with course cat litter to provide the ash affect.I do not know why these logs are so expensive but there are no cheap ones out there.

I bought these with some pine cones and glowing embers to make my propane fire pit look so very realistic. People cant believe the fire isn't a wood one except for they cant smell the smoke. Very realistic when burning.

I rated these a 4 as I haven't actually "burned them" yet. The look is very real and when arranged properly (with a good BTU burner), they provide the perfect, final touch to our fire pit. They also go great with the crushed, grey lava rock crystals.

The thermostatic wheel has no cut off for the fan when the fire in the stove goes out. Only has a over heat safety cut off at 200deg. The manual switch button not included in the kit. The hardware to attach blower to stove has to long screws. Bottom left screw is nearly impossible to install.Can't get any help from manufacturer on any of the issues this is the reason for going down to 2 stars. Look for a different brand if possible...or get ready for headaches.

As some of the previous reviews stated the directions do leave a bit to be desired, but if you look closely and read it step by step you'll get it installed without much difficulty. Installation took a little longer that I had anticipated. End result is fantastic, I'm very pleased with the function and burn results.

Just installed this yesterday, it did a great job of conserving coal and keeping the fire going through the night nice and hot in the morning. Seems like a quality built, will update if there should be any issues...now the bad part, the directions that come with it are absolutely terrible...they have you referencing pages that they don't provide you with...fortunately I'm an electrician so I didn't need them to wire it and had it together in about 10 minutes but your regular homeowner would never be able to get this working properly without calling customer care. Also there is a jumper that must be removed to allow the thermostat to control the fan (this isn't even mentioned in the instructions) if you don't remove it the blower will simply run regardless of thermostat setting...I'd definitely recommend the product, however prepare to get angry when installing

This product works great with our wood burning furnace. My husband just sets the temperature upstairs on the temp. control panel and loads the furnace with the wood and this "draft thing" just does its thing and in the house is comfortable warmth. We usually set it at 72 F and this product just keeps it that way. Before we got this item the house sometimes got so hot we had to open windows and doors in middle of the winter because in the house was 82 F. We couldn't control how much warmth would go inside house before. But now we just load the furnace every 8-10 hours, so pretty easy.

I would recommend this product to everybody with wood burning furnaces.

I have some background in electronics, and was able to install this myself.

But the documentation was sparse, a single sheet with a schematic.

There's no reason an amateur couldn't install this blower safely, except for the complete lack of instructions.

That lack required me to go buy a replacement thermostat when the supplied thermostat melted.

Bought this to replace a 47 year old Vestal #49 ash dump. New one is slightly different with the hinge. Had to chip away a quarter inch of masonry so it would fit perfectly. Well made cast iron product. Looks like it should last another 47 years or so.

I need to do some work to get it to fit snug in the opening and also the dump door doesn't want to stay closed completely.

I mounted this fan at the top of a doorway to move warm air from a room heated with a pellet stove to the rest of the house. I choose this model because of its rating of 105 cfm, which is twice that of similar fans. I liked so much that I added a second one to the doorway to further increase the air flow. It is very quiet compared to other fans. It seems to have excellent bearings it takes about 60 seconds for the blades to stop moving after it is turned off!

The other reviewers are correct about it being quiet but I am not finding it very powerful. Maybe the room is too large but I thought it would move the hot air better than it does. I am not sure if it makes any difference.

I purchased this electric fire place for my new house and none of the buttons on the controll panel on the fire place works. Foutunately it comes with a remote, but sometimes you have to touch the button to turn it on and of several times along with the heater control. The flame and log adjustment on the remote seems to work fine. I am conssidering buying a different one and putting this one in my bedroom.
