The item arrived a day early and I installed it in about 45 minutes. Checked out works as expected. Was going to throw out the Amish fireplace but I am glad I waited. It has a new life now . Will see how long it lasts The others are 3 years old and still running. At least there is a place to buy parts for repair. .

My last blower went out and I thought I was going to have to throw away my electric fireplace. I had a heat surge Amish wood built electric fireplace and we loved it. The blower started making terrible noises, thumping loudly. I knew the blower went and when I tried to get the part replaced through Heat surge they first told me they wouldn't sell me any parts, then told me $90!! I found this on amazon and now my electric fireplace is working perfectly. My kids get up in the morning and turn it on, we run it most of the day as we live in an older house with no insulation. Installation instructions didn't exist, and getting the fireplace apart took some time but taking off the old one and replacing the new was self explanatory and easy.

I have a ventless gas wall heater that needed a little circulation. This unit is so quiet and efficient. I bought an 80 degree thermal switch to allow it to turn on when warm and off when no heat is produced. The unit has a thermostat so everything is automatic. Our house is 115 years old and made of adobe and brick with plaster. The furnace does really well until it gets to be 10 degrees or below outside and the extra heat from this unit is great. Also, I feel better having the backup in case I am away and the electricity goes out. Of course, the little fan won't blow but the pipes won't freeze. The price was great and was shipped well packed. It can be attached with sheet metal screws easily and with the automatic thermostat it is self maintaining.

This product is easy to install and blocks virtually all of the draft in my fireplace. It took me longer to clean out my hearth than to position and inflate the plug.

I purchased one of these about two months ago, and was glad it was so easy to install. I'm not very good at assembling things...very little patience. Even after two months, the seal is remarkably tight. Some cold air still gets through, but it has reduced the volume of the cold air into the living room by about 95%. I recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a quick and inexpensive (relatively) way to block the cold air that comes down the chimney.

I bought this for a client. It did not work for their door. It had too many layers of moldings. The pads could not get a strong grip and could not support the weight of the garland. We ended up using 3M sticky hooks. I did keep it for myself and plan to try it next year for myself. The quality is very nice and it looks good above the doorways.

NOTE: just make sure you have about 3-4 inches of flat surface to mount it. Then is will be great!

I totally love this item, I used to have hooks to hang my Garland but with this holder now, I don't need them, very easy to set up and once you have it set up, you will not need to do it again, because it has a nut and screw that come off at the center that allows it to fold a little, allowing it to release from the area that is on, but you do need at lease 2" on each side for it to grab against. Love it and would recommend to anyone

The product description of this cover is WRONGit says it will fit most 4 foot racks, then has "48" implying the cover is 48" (or so I assumed). This cover is NOT 48"it is 90"it is NOT designed to fit a 4' rackit is designed to fit a rack that holds a full cord of woodnot a half cord like a 4' rack would. Make sure you need a cover for a FULL cord rack if you are ordering this!

You'd have to be a moron to blame the manufacturer for you choosing the wrong dimensions. Read the dimensions which are clearly marked on the ad. They're designed to fit over Brookstone's Log Racks and they fit perfectly. Whether that happens to match the amount of wood you want to stack or not is certainly not Brookstone, OR Amazon's fault.

That having been said this is a moderately flimsy material, but not like cheap tarp. It holds up well in Michigan winter and even seems to resist a few inches of frozen clumps of snow pressing down on it without tearing. But it's not going to be your heavy gauge, Sunbrella quality vinyl. We usually go through a rack of wood (one of Brookstone's 8 footers we have two lined up along the house). So what we do is just bring the cover in as soon as that rack's empty. Fold it up, put it downstairs and let it dry out while we're working through the second pile.

Doing this for a few months and they really seem to be holding up to the abuse smashingly. I especially like the velcro tear away fronts. I would hate having to run out to the woodpile in my slippers in 10 degree temps and have to fight with the cover before I could reach some wood. This velcro feature elliminates that.

The downside to these covers, aside from the fact that some folks require that they be a particular size before they'll buy one and just be happy with it ... is the fact that they have a tendency to sag as the wood depletes. Brookstone would have done well to ask its manufacturer to attach some grommets or a couple of bunjees for tying the bottoms down to the legs of the rack to keep it taut. But we're just going to throw some grommets on there ourselves because it looks like as durable as they are it will be worth it to upgrade them ourselves.

These seem to be the most affordable, most durable and best design on the net right now, as I don't particularly care for the top-only covers. We get some nasty snow drifts and I need coverage right to the ground.

These are a good buy at 35 clams a pop as long as you're not expecting Yacht grade vinyl.

I received this order today and was extremely dissapointed.When purchasing this item , there were no previously written reviews .When unlit the logs

look very black and blend in with the black grate making it look like one heap of badly burned wood ( very unattractive ).I have to take the fireplace screen down to get to the insert in order to turn it on which is not convenient . When lit , the light movement is so subtle you barely notice thus you don't get the warm ambience of a fire. The crackling sound is obnoxious with a loud annoying pop ( to similute the pop of burning wood I Imagine ) that occurs constantly sounding more like a cap gun and is not realistic .You can opt for no sound but I wanted a crackling sound !

I just got this fireplace and I love it! Very impressed with the realism of the flames and logs.

I bought this for the ambience it gives my living room and not for the heater so can't really comment on how well it will heat a room as I haven't used it.

Pros: Realistic looking flames and logs. Well built and sturdy. Open shelf is wide enough that it holds both my cable and home theater plus my center speaker.

Cons: The open shelf is only 14" in depth. So make sure you measure the components you plan on using. Mine stick out a bit but doesn't ruin the looks. This is the reason I have given it 4 stars instead of 5.

Cannot comment on shipping as I found this in a little shop. However, I had been looking on line and Amazon has the lowest price I have seen.
