Discount Rutland Log Bright® Vermiculite 5 Oz. Tub
This goes a long way and is very effective with the gas products to spread your flame out over the area.Placed vermiculite outside the burner pan to cover sides and gas connections. Looks good and was very easy to use.

I wanted a firepalce with realism and this one fits the bill. The only thing I would add is some crackling sound. Overall, I am very pleased with this insert,it looks great.

We are on a budget and wanted a fireplace insert for our custom fireplace surround that we were building. Our major concerns were price (of course), realism and depth of unit. I knew the price and size were good from the description but I was a little leery about the flame effect. I unpacked it and fired it right up and was quite impressed with the effect, it is better than I thought it was going to be.On the heating ability I would describe its heat output and noise level equivalent to a ceramic heater.
My wife now wants another one for our bedroom.

This toolset is very well made. Heavy duty and made to last. Way better than anything I've seen in the fireplace stores. The design is also very eye-catching and attractive. I'll have a difficult time wearing out the set.

This item is poorly made. Lightweight, flimsy, almost miniature in size. I was embarrassed when my husband opened it as a Christmas gift. If you need a tool set to pick up and move fireplace logs do not purchase this set. My hairbrush would do a better job than the broom included in the set.

The set is smaller than standard poker set, but it does have a home here with my new coal stove. heavy weight, nice design,Best Deals for Uniflame T18070BK 5-Piece Black Wrought Iron Toolset
Classic style and lines. We have a smaller fireplace and this one fits great! Has all the things you need to make and keep a great fire going (p.s. wood not included :)Honest reviews on Uniflame T18070BK 5-Piece Black Wrought Iron Toolset
I was not really thinking there is much of a difference between fireplace tool sets, other than design, but I suppose, like everything else, there are better and worse ones. I bought this set because it was from Amazon and therefore had free shipping (these things are heavy) and it is passable. The major complaint I have is the tongs (or grabbers) require two hands because of the way they hinge, and that is a bit inconvenient, and also makes them easier to allow you to burn yourself.Other than that, a fine set of tools and good deal for the price.
Reviews of SkyTech Thermostatic On/Off Remote Control
List Price: $193.00
Sale Price: $149.00

I bought this remote to control my firegear ventless gas logs since I decided to switch to heating my house primarily by propane instead of my heat pump. This remote control units works well for my needs. I can set it to 70 degrees and it will cycle the logs on at 68 and off at 72. The only reason I did not give this item a 5 star rating is that you cannot adjust the swing setting, which is the +2 off and -2 on setting that controls the logs. I should have done more research, but I was able to compensate by playing with where I put the remote. I placed the remote a little closer to the fireplace, which effectively cycles the logs on/off how I prefer. According to my central heat/air thermostat, the effective swing is now only 1 degree. My actual temperature varies from 69-70 degrees.

One review said they ordered two clocks and both arrived broken. I almost didn't order because of that review, but I'm glad I did as the clock arrived in perfect condition. It's beautiful and just what we wanted.

The clock arrived completely in pieces, broken glass everywhere. The seller immediately had a replacement sent and it arrived in the same shape; completely shattered. We tried a third time, hoping Sterling would ship it in better packaging, but the third one arrived in exactly the same condition. It was shipped with the same flimsy packaging each time which kind of blew my mind. They blamed UPS but that was not the problem. When you ship something with glass, it should have extra cushioning but this only had one layer of small bubble wrap and a thin piece of styrofoam each time. We all know the delivery companies are rough on packages so I don't blame them.I was very disappointed, as the clock would have been beautiful if not broken.
The seller was great to work with, responded immediately and apologized. I would buy from them again, but never a Sterling product.

I was looking for fireplace tools that would not get loose and wobbly and fall apart and these were the perfect find. They're both rugged and good looking, old world styling. The tool set is exactly as pictured. It came well packaged. It's solid I was worried it would look cheap in person, but it's not. I'm happy with my purchase.
