Discount Rutland Log Bright® Vermiculite 5 Oz. Tub
This goes a long way and is very effective with the gas products to spread your flame out over the area.Placed vermiculite outside the burner pan to cover sides and gas connections. Looks good and was very easy to use.

Imperial Mfg Group LT0171 Ash Shovel Review
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $71.88
Sale Price: $4.29

I bought this little shovel for use in my chicken yard, and am quite pleased with it as it is very sturdy and well made, and much better quality than previous ones I have owned. I believe it will last a long time, as it has a nice galvanized finish.
The shovel is a light weight galvanized tin I suppose. It's not real sturdy for doing anything heavy. But it's plenty good for the light work I put it to. If you keep it clean and dry, it should last for several years. The handle is long enough to keep from getting burned by the hot coals.
I paid less than $4 for the shovel, and less than $2 for the shipping. I didn't know anyone shipped for that amount. If they can ship a small shovel of this size for under $2, it makes you wonder why other things cost so much to ship.
I give it 5 stars because it fits my needs very well. A four year old kid digging in a sandbox with heavy wet sand could probably bend the scoop part of the shovel. The round, rolled handle is a little sturdier. If you let ash, or other material that could stay wet, stay on the shovel, it will probably rust up fairly fast. But even then it should last a few years.
great quality for the price i paid.
I bought it for a homemade wood burning camp stove.

I kept wondering what I could use to scoop charcoal out of the bucket and into my grill. Couldn't find the right size scoop. Then I found this. Works great. Perfect size. Bonus: I also use it to clean out the ashes.Best Deals for Imperial Mfg Group LT0171 Ash Shovel

This shovel is light enough to easily control with one hand. The handle is long enough to let you stir the coals and not scald your knuckles. The handle is short enough to stay out of the way. I can ask for little more in such a reasonably priced tool.Monday, June 23, 2014

In defense of Aqua Cone, there appears an asterisk on the packaging which states: " not recommended for vacation watering" Fair enough, but also precisely why I bought them in order to deliver precious drops of H2O to my balcony plants while away for couple of weeks or so.
Well, I punched out two holes under soil type "clay" and inverted the water bottle( 2-liter used ginger-ale) and within 20 minutes, the plant had slaked its thirst and I stood aghast. Two weeks away, how will this ever work? Enter the lowly house sponge: I cut a sliver from a big floor sponge and wetted it and then jammed it into the cone with a screwdriver and inverted the 2-liter container and rammed her home. I marked the high-water mark on the side of the container and sat back to observe. Well, now some 5 hours later, the water is slowly, but surely irrigating the plant. I'd say, at this rate, it should go a week, maybe longer, so progress is at hand and I feel product might work. Other thoughts, if you want to slow water delivery, punch out just 1 of 2 holes or punch it out with very fine nail for small-bore hole.
Happy watering...
This is my 2nd attempt to use a product of this kind. I have talked with friends who experienced poor results also.

These cones are a cheap solution if you need to water your plants slowly. My solution to the cones draining water too quickly from my two liter soda bottle is to put about a teaspoon of Soil Moist Granules in the bottle before adding water. The granules will expand and absorb the water and float to the bottom of the cone. The expanded granules will block the water in the bottle from coming out quickly but still releases the water slowly. One 2L bottle should easily last at least a couple of weeks.Best Deals for Achla Designs AQC-01G Green Aqua Cone, Set of 6
I like these because you don't have to screw them on like ones I bought from another company. Plus you have a choice of 3 levels to punch holes in, and they're very sturdy, I use them in my topsy turvy tomato planter and strawberry planter.Honest reviews on Achla Designs AQC-01G Green Aqua Cone, Set of 6

This system of watering plants does not work well!. It seems that they either drain the water TOO FAST or NOT AT ALL!. I still have some Spikes that I have not/will not attempt to put to use. This is my 2nd attempt to use a product of this kind. I have talked with friends who experienced poor results also.

Buy Command Sawtooth Picture-Hanging Hooks, 3-Hanger
Customer Ratings:
List Price: $7.58

I don't like putting holes in my dry walls as much as I can. These picture hanging hooks with Command strips work great IF and only IF you follow all the instructions. In particular, the mounting surfaces (both wall and and hook) must be clean and dust-free before installation. Also, it is tempting to hang your pictures soon after installing the hooks, but you really should wait at least an hour for the adhesive to 'cure' before the hook can take its stated load.
It's been more than a month since I've used them and so far, none of them have failed me. Great product!
I have now had 3 sets of the hooks and 1 set of the strips completely fail on me, to the tune of 3 drywall patches, a very banged-up print mounted on foamcore, a couple of dinged frames, one completely destroyed frame, and a huge chunk of 100+ year wooden baseboard. It's happened on drywall and plaster, on interior and exterior walls, in winter and now in summer. I'm so frustrated I could spit.
THESE STUPID STRIPS ARE NOTHING BUT A RECIPE FOR MISERY. Some fail overnight. Some wait weeks or months to fail. It's not worth it. It's far easier to spackel and fix a nailhole than it is 1-2 3/4-1" drywall paper chunks out of my walls.
I'm so ticked off. I used a couple of these with some success and then ordered a ton of them from Amazon. Now they are all failing left and right.

Now I read other reviews that say that these don't work well with Behr paint. I don't know if it's Behr or if it's the Primer-and-Paint-in-One thing, but looking back the only time these have worked (the first two I bought) were on walls painted with regular paint. All of the other failures have been on the paint-and-primer walls.
If this is really the case, I'm even more frustrated than I was before.
don't follow the directions, your pics will fall down. I did it a few times without following the instructions and the tape did fail--but then when I did all the steps, everything stayed and works great!

I've used several 3M products. I usually don't have problems. The picture hanging strips with velcro are awesome. These, however, are just the plain 3M sticky strip. This means you have to know EXACTLY where the teeth are on the back of your frame, and be sure that the strips' hangers are EXACTLY level on the first try. There aren't any second chances. I went through 2 extra strips before getting my second hook in the right place. The velcro would've been better, but I don't think they do that on the sawtooth hangers.Best Deals for Command Sawtooth Picture-Hanging Hooks, 3-Hanger
Yes, I did the prep correctly (rubbing alcohol and everything!) Yes, I waited the correct amount of time. No, I didn't overweight the hooks OR strips.I have now had 3 sets of the hooks and 1 set of the strips completely fail on me, to the tune of 3 drywall patches, a very banged-up print mounted on foamcore, a couple of dinged frames, one completely destroyed frame, and a huge chunk of 100+ year wooden baseboard. Love them!!!! They work great and can allow me to hang pics without feeling committed to damage my walls with a hole if I don't like where it is. However, you must follow the directions--as in hold the tape down for 30 seconds and then wait an hour. If youdon't follow the directions, your pics will fall down. I did it a few times without following the instructions and the tape did fail--but then when I did all the steps, everything stayed and works great!

This is one of the worst products I've ever used.I've just renovated my whole house and didn't want to mark my newly painted walls. I have several pieces of old, much loved art which I've never been able to display. I used Command hooks for wire hanging as well as sawtooth hangers. I applied them exactly as instructed. The pictures hung for all of two weeks and all fell off the wall. None was over the weight limit for the product. Fortunately, none was damaged. Apparently this is one of those instances of "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". Never again will I use anything but nail on hooks.Wednesday, April 16, 2014

I bought this bellow online because I liked the flowing shape and reasonable price. Within 3 weeks of using it the leather cracked in several places around the tip and sides. It now leaks so much that it focuses very little air out of the tip and into the wood stove. in my opinion this item should only be used as a fireplace piece of art. it wont work well as a real bellows it doesnt blow much air and 19" puts you close to the fire. as a bellows it gets 1 star, as art it gets 3 more.

I bought this fireplace for my bedroom which is on the opposite side of my house from the furnace. By the time the warm air from the furnace reaches my bedroom in the winter time the warm air is not so warm anymore. So, I am using this for the ambiance in my bedroom as well as functional heating that has been working quite well. I love the height because it is perfect for my 42" plasma TV. Also the warm look of the oak adds a nice look to my bedroom. I was slightly disappointed that not all the woods matched when putting it together but, unless your a perfectionist like me you really don't notice it. Also the holes in the top piece were not drilled properly and had to be re-drilled. It was well worth the effort because the fireplace looks fabulous! I put it together myself and it took me about 2 hours to complete. If your looking for a little extra heat somewhere I highly recommend this fireplace.

I can't even tell you how many of log picker uppers we've bought. This is the only one we will ever need. It arrived when said and in perfect condition. This baby is heavy...I mean made to last. I can't ever imagine them falling apart. You have to work the first few times to open them because they are stiff BUT they will hold any log without fear of breaking. They cost a little more but were worth every penny.
no wobbling and twisting when you are trying to maneuver logs

These work great for moving logs around on an open campfire. They were very stiff and hard to open/close when they first arrived, but after working them in they now open and close nicely and are strong enough to move typical firewood around without difficulty. Highly recommend!Honest reviews on The Perfect CampfireGrill Heavy-Duty Log Tweezers
These are great fireplace tongs. Pretty stiff to start out, but I put a little gun lube on the joints and exercised it for a while and now they are perfect. Can't wait to go camping again to have a chance to use them. Very sturdy tongs, no concern at all that they will bend like lesser tongs do. Discount Copperfield 78100 Speedy White Hearth and Stove Cleaner-22 oz
I bought this product to clean the glass on my wood and pellet stoves. It is expensive, but it makes cleaing the soot and grime off my glass very easy. After experimenting with many other glass cleaners,we have purchasing this exact wood stove glass cleaner for years, locally. But everyone charges $12.99/btl. It is a MUST if you burn wood for 8 months/yr and want to see / keep an eye on how your fire is doing. Purchasing by the case is the absolute best way to get the best price for the best cleaner. The order was received within a few days and packed well. NO negatives!
