BRECKWELL P2000I Deluxe WOOD PELLET Insert with SURROUND FLASHING Reviews

BRECKWELL P2000I Deluxe WOOD PELLET Insert with SURROUND FLASHING, GOLD Door

Use to heat the 1800 SqFt house all winter. Just set to "2" and it runs perfect. Use 4 ton of pellets each year. Get a good ash vacuum and clean 2x / week (turn off stove, let cool for 2 hours, vacuum for 10 minutes be sure to get the baffles using a fish tank brush). As long as you never turn it off, you can make it all winter (mid October mid April) without cleaning the chimney (FYI they recommend chimney cleaning every ton and I'm not suggesting you do anything different) after 2 months if you turn it off for even a day all the ash will come off the vent pipe (4 inch 20 ft vert.) and clog the chimney. Taking the insert out for annual maintenance is a bit of a pain. Have had this for 5 years and replaced the auger motor once and the convection blower. Even considering this, the stove has easily paid for itself.

I've done firewood my whole life (until now). You don't get as much heat out of the pellets, but feeding and cleaning (no bugs/no bark) is so much easier. Fill every 12 hours.

Spend the extra $ for the fake firebricks in the back, skip the fake logs.

Kettle Moraine Hardwoods Walter Natural Rustic Walnut Mantel Shelf Reviews

Kettle Moraine Hardwoods Walter Natural Rustic Walnut Mantel Shelf

Item was initially desribed as rustic, but finished, and the picture depicts a finished fireplace mantel. However, it arrives as a totally unfinished piece of wood, that I suppose with much work and skill could be made in to a mantel. I don't know why anyone would want ot pay $300-400 for an unfinished block of wood. Also. be careful aboout which vendor you order this product from. Hayneedle fully paid return shipping when I first ordered it through them, but its' subsidiary, Plumstruck (through Amazon.com) would not pay return shipping for this incorrectly advertised and totally unsatisfactory product. (Note: I tried ordereing it again through Plumbstuck/Amazon because I thought Hayneedle was having problems with matching their inventory for shipment with the item ordered, as what was received was so different than what was advertised/depcited. I ordered it again because I really wanted the nice fireplace mantel depicted in the photo, but apparently it doesn't exist).

Best Achla Designs Hammered Copper Bowl with Rim Deals

Achla Designs Hammered Copper Bowl with Rim
Customer Ratings: 3.5 stars

I just bought the bowl and don't know what the "rim" is that is referred to. It is smaller than I expected but big enough for the birds. I didn't have a way to mount it so I just put it inside of a larger bird bath. The birds give it a thumbs up.

I did my research, read the reviews, and purchased this product. It completely met my expectations. I love it, and I think the birds love it too. If you just want a plain copper bowl, this will do the trick.

The picture for this birdbath clearly shows a stand on which to place the beautiful hammered copper bowl. However, the item I received was just a copper bowl. I sadly had to return this item to the shipper. It was just a copper bowl -it needs a stand!

Honest reviews on Achla Designs Hammered Copper Bowl with Rim

Did not work as a birdbath or anything else.

The birds were frightened of the glare, or sonething, as not one attempted to use it.

I purchased this copper bird bath bowl, knowing full well that it was just the bowl (and not a stand). I purchased it to fit an existing stand which once held a mis-guided purchase of a beautiful, glass bird bath. The copper bird bowl from this vendor was described as "used" but in "very good condition"; it was exactly that, and in fact, I would never have known it was used. It is very good quality for the price paid, has a very evenly placed "hammered" texture to it, and is gorgeous. It is exactly as described at 12.5" diameter and 2.5" deep, with approx. 2" rim. I paid less than $40.00 for mine, which is an excellent price for a solid copper bowl. Very happy with this purchase!

I don't like putting holes in my dry walls as much as I can. These picture hanging hooks with Command strips work great IF and only IF you follow all the instructions. In particular, the mounting surfaces (both wall and and hook) must be clean and dust-free before installation. Also, it is tempting to hang your pictures soon after installing the hooks, but you really should wait at least an hour for the adhesive to 'cure' before the hook can take its stated load.

It's been more than a month since I've used them and so far, none of them have failed me. Great product!

I've used several 3M products. I usually don't have problems. The picture hanging strips with velcro are awesome. These, however, are just the plain 3M sticky strip. This means you have to know EXACTLY where the teeth are on the back of your frame, and be sure that the strips' hangers are EXACTLY level on the first try. There aren't any second chances. I went through 2 extra strips before getting my second hook in the right place. The velcro would've been better, but I don't think they do that on the sawtooth hangers.

Yes, I did the prep correctly (rubbing alcohol and everything!) Yes, I waited the correct amount of time. No, I didn't overweight the hooks OR strips.

I have now had 3 sets of the hooks and 1 set of the strips completely fail on me, to the tune of 3 drywall patches, a very banged-up print mounted on foamcore, a couple of dinged frames, one completely destroyed frame, and a huge chunk of 100+ year wooden baseboard. It's happened on drywall and plaster, on interior and exterior walls, in winter and now in summer. I'm so frustrated I could spit.

THESE STUPID STRIPS ARE NOTHING BUT A RECIPE FOR MISERY. Some fail overnight. Some wait weeks or months to fail. It's not worth it. It's far easier to spackel and fix a nailhole than it is 1-2 3/4-1" drywall paper chunks out of my walls.

I'm so ticked off. I used a couple of these with some success and then ordered a ton of them from Amazon. Now they are all failing left and right.

--

Now I read other reviews that say that these don't work well with Behr paint. I don't know if it's Behr or if it's the Primer-and-Paint-in-One thing, but looking back the only time these have worked (the first two I bought) were on walls painted with regular paint. All of the other failures have been on the paint-and-primer walls.

If this is really the case, I'm even more frustrated than I was before.

Honest reviews on Command Sawtooth Picture-Hanging Hooks, 3-Hanger

Love them!!!! They work great and can allow me to hang pics without feeling committed to damage my walls with a hole if I don't like where it is. However, you must follow the directions--as in hold the tape down for 30 seconds and then wait an hour. If you

don't follow the directions, your pics will fall down. I did it a few times without following the instructions and the tape did fail--but then when I did all the steps, everything stayed and works great!

This is one of the worst products I've ever used.I've just renovated my whole house and didn't want to mark my newly painted walls. I have several pieces of old, much loved art which I've never been able to display. I used Command hooks for wire hanging as well as sawtooth hangers. I applied them exactly as instructed. The pictures hung for all of two weeks and all fell off the wall. None was over the weight limit for the product. Fortunately, none was damaged. Apparently this is one of those instances of "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". Never again will I use anything but nail on hooks.

First let me affirm that using a chimney balloon makes a significant difference in terms of heat loss and drafts from a conventional fireplace with a modern safety damper that does not close all the way. This tool is very useful for inflation because it allows you to place the balloon higher in the chimney, well past the damper, while still being able to reach whatever device you are using to inflate it. The original balloon design has a very short valve, which if you are to reach it to inflate it, might not allow the balloon to be out or range of interfering with the operation of the damper itself. This extension allows you to position the balloon much higher to avoid this problem.

However, you still need to make sure the balloon is within reach, since once you remove the extension, you will still need to close the valve at the bottom of the balloon before you can seal it in place above the damper. So there is still the need for fireplace gymnastics once you have the balloon inflated in place to remove this extension, close the balloon valve, and then close the damper off. Not a perfect solution, but perhaps better than nothing at all. In principle, if you could leave this in place, you would not need to do that, but the stiffness of the rod will probably prevent many dampers from closing, and it also could detach at the balloon end, leaving an exposed valve there so the balloon would lose pressure.

The ideal design would be a telescopic one, so you could leave the extension rod attached and shorten it if you want to close the damper, but then reach up and extend it when you need to inflate or deflate the balloon. Undoubtedly, such a design which was also reasonably airtight is beyond the price point that would be required for an accessory such as this.

Buy Carved Wooden Fireplace Screen, in White

Carved Wooden Fireplace Screen, in White
Customer Ratings: 3 stars
Buy Now
We bought two (2). We were looking for dog gates for our senior 80lb. dog. for our staircase. Didn't l like most of the gates out there, and I started looking for fireplace screens. Most of those looked unsightly -and found this -a faux fireplace screen (faux bc it's made of wood).

Works well at the top and bottom of the staircase -perfect, size too (allowing enough space on the side to allow our cats to continue access to staircase).

Note: Our dog is well-behaved, and won't try to push aside this gate (doesn't even try to push open doors -usually peers in and waits until a command to enter is provided) so I'm not sure if it'll work with more ambitious dogs.

* Pro/Con: It's quite heavy -good for a stand-alone dog gate. The construction's a bit shabby -looks better in the photo/advertisement -and the white paint is chalky (?) and kind of sands off (at least the paint on the stands/legs). We bought two but both stands/legs for each screen are poorly constructed and do NOT fit well at all. In fact, both sets are weak/wobbly for the screen which is quite heavy (as above-mentioned). I've had to add shims but since I do move it frequently (but not roughly), I'm going to have to nail the stands/legs to the screen base. If the legs/stands didn't wobble, I do believe that the screen can be quite stable (because it's heavy).

* I'd prefer to pay $20 less bc of the construction,

Review of Lightning Bugs Firestarter 36 ct Box

Lightnin Bug Fire Starters 10 Oz.
Customer Ratings: 5 stars

I light one and put under my chimney starter which I place on flat rock. Every single time the fire starts. Sometimes I light 2 and put them an inch apart. No newspapers, no lighter fluid. I can use charcoal that does not contain lighter fluid or wood charcoal. You hold a match to an edge of the lightening bug and once a flame begins place it under the chimney starter. You just need one for every time you barbecue so my box has lasted 3 years.
