I ordered this fireplace 2 month ago with promice to ship whitin 48 hours. I recieved it in 3 weeks. When I opened the box, the top panel was completely crashed and broken due to the bad packaging. I requested to replace the fireplace. For two weeks I got a lot e-mail with request to make a picture of the broken part and so on. Finaly I provided a full information with sku and number. In one week and half I recieved a box with replacement part. When I opened a box I was shocked, they sent to me a top panel from corner fireplace (it is obviouse from the picture and order description it is a flat mantel). After two month I paid money for this order I still have a lot of problem and there is no solution.

We really like the look if the fireplace. However, ours is a gel fuel fireplace which looks exactly the same but doesn't use electricity. Either way we are enjoying the look of it.

No matter how well you tighten this thing up it's still rickety and does not have a solid feel. The other thing I did not care for was the amount of debris left on the floor, as I had not thought of the wood shedding I didn't think this would have been a problem but I think the next one I buy will have a little larger catch for the wood bits, instead of just being a rack.

This product is not stable! it sways back and forth when you try to put logs on it. Plus it just hooks together essentially using gravity to keep it together. For 100+bucks I expect it to be better.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I've owned about a bazillion different fireplace lighters and I've hated just about every one of them. But not this one.

I expected this to be another lightweight poorly built semi-disposable lighter. Wrong. This lighter is awesome. It's very solid and much heavier than I expected. I guess I should have known it would be solid, because that's how every other Zippo product I've owned has been.

So why bendy? Honestly, I don't know. I'm really not sure why I would want to aim my flame around a corner, but now I'm glad that I can.

The safety and ignition switch are easy to use. It generally lights on the first flick. The fluid level window is easy to see.

The flame level adjustment works well. It's actually a solid metal wheel with a good knurl on it.

It also has a clip thingie that flips out of the base. I can't tell what it is. I don't think it's a belt clip, because that would be weird. It can't be a stand, because who would want to stand their bendy lighter on end (too dangerous--plus it wouldn't stay lit).

The head is very elegant. It doesn't look like any lighter I've owned before. I guess the closest comparison (in looks) is one of my high end Calibri lighters.

So I suppose the unidentifiable clip and the bendable neck make this lighter slightly enigmatic. And why not? Why shouldn't your good lighter have a touch of mystery to it?

All in all, I really do like this lighter. I like the look and feel. It's utilitarian and elegant, plus it's a great conversation piece. Your friends will fight for a turn to play with it.

TIP: If you've never owned a refillable lighter like this, turn the whole business upside down when you fill it. Turn your canister of butane upside down (with the spout facing down) and turn the lighter upside down (with the fill hole pointing up). Couple the two together and then push the canister in bursts. Some of these bursts will fail and some will succeed. After a few good bursts, your lighter is full and you're ready to light something (in a well ventilated area).

The Zippo does light, but not easily. The safety mechanism and trigger are difficult to operate -and I am a man with large and reasonably strong hands. I got the Zippo to replace a Bic pistol style disposable lighter. I am sorry I did not get another Bic. I suppose there is a reason pistols are shaped the way they are -long experience has found this to be an effective and simple design. In the Bic, the hammer is replaced by the safety switch. A similar design is used by my electric hedge trimmer. I suppose Zippo was taking extra care to make their device child resistant (and for something that starts fires that is not a bad idea), but they did an awfully good job of making it adult resistant as well.

I've purchased and fueled up (remember it does come empty on butane and get a canister as well) my new zippo flex neck lighter and have a couple useful notes to prospective buyers:

The design is good, and thankfully the type of rubberized coating doesn't have a sticky feel like many other products in similar coatings. It's much more like a matte black milk gallon in texture.

The electronic ignition uses an wire filament which runs across the mouth of the unit about 1/8 inch deep inside the opening of the fuel nozzle. It does seem robust, but not terribly durable. So if you're looking to be able to drop this safely out on a rock or tile flooring often, consider a more rugged product.

To further support the "multiple clicking" ignition failure other reviews are talking about: to a point they're correct. You need to hold the slider a second longer than should be strictly necessary to allow gas to begin flowing before completing the motion and hearing the "click" for the most reliable ignition. Much like on a gas stove where you can hear the low hiss of moving gas before applying the spark to ignite. If you just run the slide in a quick motion (which admittedly works great on most cheap Bic lighters with long necks) you'll need as many as 3 to 6 clicks before enough fuel has collected at the nozzle to get a flame. If you've come to expect fast lighters like the classic Zippo box that fail uncommonly per strike, I'd urge you to look at a different model.

The bending neck is as flexible as I'd like and the filament is still holding well considering I've already dropped the unit several times. That plus the lifetime warranty should keep me in good shape.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This lighter can be handy to light flamable products where you do not want your hand close to the flame. It feels solid, has an ample butane supply and its piezo-electric starter worked for me without fail. However, it did not work for my wife because the safety button and starter switch that must be pressed simultaneously are too difficult for someone with smaller or less strong hands to operate. I believe the strength required to operate it makes it virtually useless for many of those who do not posess strong hands. For this reason, I cannot recommend it. There is no reason the safety button and starter need to be so hard to work for safety reasons because their placement on the lighter are far enough apart to prevent an accidental flame for a child or an adult. I would recommend this lighter highly if the springs that provide resistance on the safety button and starter were weakened to permit all adults to be able to ignite the butane. Hopefully Zippo will be able to fix this problem and reintroduce the lighter because it seems to be a quality product in all other respects.

I've been completely happy with this item. The fire is very realistic for an electric option. The heater cranks out the warmth and its contemporary design fits great in my modern home. It looks nice and puts out good enough heat for a single story room. However the mounting hardware was useless to we who have drywall instead if concrete or block walls. The hardware provided was concrete anchors. So you will need to head over to the nearest Lowes to buy any other type anchors you may need for the wall it will be placed on. I heat my house with wood and have a wood stove (that has glass door) and a fireplace. For me there is no other way to get warmreal wood is the best. I built my man room by cutting off part of my garage and I have all the manly stuff one could want (big tv, bad ass music system, bar, reclining chair, etc...) so when my mother in law suggested that I put in an electric fireplace below the tv, I was really skeptical! She has really good instinct for style and decoration, and I trust her advice all the time. I settled on this electric fireplace mostly because of it's looks. Now that it's in, it's really pretty cool! It puts off good heat, and I would of given it 5 stars, but it is a little noisy. I think someone else reviewed that noise as "crackling", but it's notit's the fan turning. The flames look fake, but, for what it is it's really cool.

Only takes one thin layer off at a time. In one location there is a big black mass and this doesn't do much for it. The black mass is maybe 1/4-1/2 inch thick in one spot. If there is a thin amount of black it will take it off. Comes off in thin layers. Spraying and wiping with an old t shirt. Doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere. A little at a time. Should have a tray underneath as well. This is last years mess, I am cleaning.

If you get it on your finger it is like bleach. Gets slimy like.

The smell is not too bad for a cleaning chemical of some sorts. When you spray it within a fireplace it can get misty or somewhat in the air. I would back off for a little bit after spraying and then come back to it.

When I spray it I can see brown/black coming off or mixing with it. It doesn't work magically though. You don't want to ruin the brick as well. Some masons clean with acids. That can be extremely dangerous however.

Also, I would recommend rubber gloves of some sort. Maybe safety glasses as well. Bottle I think tells you that it is an irritant.

I ordered this because of it's clean, simple design. I don't like the ornate curlicues that most of them seem to have. It looks nice, and was easy to put together (you have to screw the handles on to the rods). My only complaint is that it's just painted black (over stainless steel, or something, I guess). We haven't even really used it yet, and the shovel has a couple of chips where you can see the silver underneath. I don't imagine anyone is going to be inspecting it up close, so it probably (hopefully) won't be a problem but I was a little disappointed.

We have an outdoor fireplace and use natural wood (not the chemical log things like duraflame). Our old tongs bent and the shovel broke after 10 yrs, so we needed to get the set replaced. The tongs on the uniflame set seem quite durable. We've used them several times now and they work for small and large logs. I was worried they would be bendy after reading a couple ratings but they have done well so far. Only had them a bit over a week. The broom does seem flimsy and too soft for a fireplace but we rarely ever use the broom so we don't care. The stand does wobble a bit but not enough to irritate me...which is easy to do. We love that the tongs have the two equal handle levers instead of the long and short (I hate those things). I hope it lasts 10 yrs like the previous set. Oh, we also keep them inside the garage instead of outdoors because our area is so windy they'll blow away like our swing & umbrella.

I can't think of anything bad to say about this fire pit. Great construction quality. Sturdy. Good ventilation on the sides. Make sure you put some sand in the bottom before you use it (the instruction book probably tells you to too).

I received the Lexington Anywhere Fireplace as a Christmas gift. I love the way the product looks on the box, but have not yet tried it as the color (the white) doesn't match my decor. As the gift was purchased direct from Anywhere Fireplaces -not through Amazon -I called Anywhere Fireplaces to determine the best way to exchange the gift for another more expensive model, while ensuring that I would pay the price differential, rather than the gifter being billed the additional amount. Anywhere Fireplaces stated numerous times that I COULD NOT EXCHANGE THE PRODUCT FOR ANOTHER MODEL BECAUSE I HAD OPENED THE BROWN SHIPPING CARTON, AND THUS THEY WOULD BE UNABLE TO REUSE THE CARTON TO SHIP A PRODUCT TO ANOTHER CUSTOMER. This is a great fireplace. It provides ambiance, especially to a condominium, or smaller room. If you want heating for a larger room, obviously this is not what you should get the small size makes this apparent just by looking at it. It will provide some heat for a moderate-size bedroom, or smaller room. But mainly it is great for a visual effect, and to provide a little coziness and charm. I really like it, and recommend it.
