I ordered this grate for my wood stove. It turns out to be much too large (my fault, I thought the smallest I could find--18" inch--would fit but it doesn't.) However, it is a very sturdy grate and would order again if I had a bigger woood stove. Because it's heavy, the shipping was more that I thought.

I build a fire in my wood stove every night during winter. I got this grate about 2-3 weeks ago and it's already sagging about an inch and 1/2 on the front cross bar. Normally I can get two years out of a grate. I'm estimating two months for this one.

It probably would be fine for a fireplace as they do not burn as hot.

UPDATE: My two month guess was correct. My grate looks as if it were made of clay and someone stepped on it. Legs are splayed and tines are resting on bottom of wood stove. I would add a caveat to the description of item, "Keep away from heat. Do not place heavy items, such as firewood, on grate".

material is very rugged; very happy w/ this product other than its size (my fault, though)

even though the fireplace insert measured larger than 18" x 14," I overlooked a 3" inset on the base of the insert making the effective flat insert surface on the bottom only about 11"

have to angle the grate b/c of the elevated inset in the front

WELL DONE! i'd buy more from this company eventhough made in thialand only real negative USA.

I purchased this console somewhere else right before Christmas to put my new 42" plasma tv on. It looks nice and is a heavy piece of furniture. Unfortunately, it has started to scratch, warp and buckle already. The only thing on top of it is the tv. I know it cannot be from the weight. Unfortunately, it is too late to take back to the store and the manufacturer says it is our fault because it must not have been level. My husband is not new at putting things together...he has a lot of carpentry experience. It looks like we got a defective one and the manufacturer does not stand behind their product.

First of all the service from Amazon was great. It was shiped and delivered nearly a week sooner than I expected.

As for the TV stand it met my expectations for quality of materials and finish. The color matched the online illustration and my living room furniture almost perfectly. All the visible outside veniers are oak some inside are birch but stained to match the oak. The assembly instructions were easy to follow and the piece went together with relitive ease. The only time I needed an extra hand was to drop the top on. The only tools needed were flat blade and philips screwdrivers.

The hardware was of good quslity (all metal, not plastic) and there were no pieces short or missing. In fact several extras of various pieces were provided.

The only real problem I had was the hinges on the doors were set too high and they rubbed the top when closed. In fact one door wase bound and would not close. As a quick fix I shimmed up the top to correct the problem but the hinges realy need to be reset 1/8" lower for proper clearance, which I intend to do soon.

All in all I am pleased with this product and it looks great with my new 47" flat screen on top.

Honest reviews on Home Styles Arts & Crafts Entertainment Console

Shipping was very quick. I do take issue with the hardware. The screws didn't fit to attach it to the doors. The screw didn't seem long enough, so that was no problem. Purchased another longer screw(s) and it still wouldn't fit. The problem is the threads on the pulls wouldn't allow me to set the screw all the way for it to stay on the doors. I plan to fix this myself, as I feel contacting the company would take too long (my husband is a general contractor and can fix it himself). The look and finish of the wood is good.

Overall we are very satisfied with the finished product, it looks wonderful in our great room. Assembling was fairly resonable except it was missing steps 3 and 4. Obviously they weren't required steps to assemble the stand because we got through it fine. My hubby who is very particular about furniture was very happy with the end result. HOWEVER, BE AWARE OF THE COLOR IN AD. If you're looking for a nice light maple or light oak type finish this is not for you!!! The color is a rich, darker oak finish almost cherry bu very attractive and rich looking. VERY HAPPY!

Good fireplace screen for the price. It's not super sturdy but does the job. I didn't know that 'antique iron powder coated' meant that it was a grey/silver color. It looked black on my computer (which is what I wanted). Needless to say, I had to spray paint it (which was not a big deal).

Honest reviews on Panacea Products Corp Fireplace Screen/Doors 15832 Fireplace

The fireplace screen was sturdy and easy to put together. I like the magnetic doors. The magnet is strong enough so a small child could not open it. It is a great product for a reasonable price.

The fireplace screen is really nice. But it came with a broken hinge. I called the company and their message said they would contact me the next day. BUT I have not heard from them 1 week later. If the home center has the right bonding I will fix it myself. But I wish the company had returned my call when they said the would. I would order it again but hope that it would not be broken.

This is the worst item I have ever ordered on Amazon. After 2 uses, most of the brush bristles just broke off. Most of the rest of them just fell out. I was replacing a brush that I had for 4 years that still has bristles left, but had caught on fire several times and the bristles were too short to do any sweeping.

The epitome of "made in china" crap

Brush bristles started fallingout first day. I'm sending the handle and a handful of bristles in the box back. Glad Amazon has an easy return policy. Hope they drop this product from their inventoryleave this garbage for Walmart to sell. I'll just buy a whole new fireplace set when I find one made in USA.

Every time I clean out the fireplace ashes the bristles split and break. It won't be much longer and the broom will be bald. If you need it for looks only, it will suffice. However, it won't last long as an actual tool.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This is conveniently portable, you can carry it from one room to another, even if you have been using it for sometime. The heat is coming from the bottom and doesn't heats up the handles that are on the top. It uses two 40W E12 lamps that can be replaced from the back.

Pros:

wonderful magical fireplace display. It looks like an authentic fire unless you are very close to it.

no assembly required

Cons:

Not extremely loud but still makes noise even no heater is on.

No authentic fire log crackling noise. Fireplace DVDs give you better experience on audio.

It is blowing air on the bottom but not enough to spread the head across the room

Energy consumption:

I used a Kill-a-Watt to measure how much energy it consumes. This electronic fireplace has three rocker switches. The first one is for light display only. The other two switches is to turn on the heater. There are two rotating knobs. The one on the left is for the light display intensity. The one on the right is a dumb knob for the heater temperature. It is actually just a two step switch. It doesn't adjust gradually. Nothing happens until you turn the knob past halfway before the light on the second heater switch turns on. After passing halfway, the heat will not intensify more even if you turn the knob all the way to the highest setting.

Light only, dimmest setting = 53W

Light only, brightest setting = 78W

Light + 1 heater switch = 731W

Light + 2 heater switches = 1,311W

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have not had an electric fireplace before. But, I was certainly surprised at the heating uniformity this one produced. I was suspicious that it would heat in one spot, like those small space heaters.

I placed this in the lowest level of my home. I have a Tri-level and the basement level is the coldest. Although it is not too cold yet, this electric Fireplace threw out some instant heat. The heat soon radiated into the room, and it kept the heat in the room uniform.

I liked the look of the flames and the wood, as it is quite realistic. The flames are high, and consistently producing nice images of fire.

My only concern is that the flames are placed in the back, and I would like the flames to billow out of the "logs" also. So, the logs are lit, and the flames are in the back.

The unit, itself, does not get hot, and there is an auto safety feature. You can operate this with or without the heat. PLUS, you can operate one heating element or both for greater warmth.

I placed the Fireplace in the Living Room, and I got a very nice uniform heat. I will, of course, raise the fireplace for more of a level to eye view and enjoyment.

This one is smaller than my other unit Frigidaire CMSF-10310 Cleveland Floor Standing Electric Fireplace Black. It is compact and easy to move. It certainly does not take up much space.

But what I do not know yet is if this uses more electricity than normal. I will test it out, But, in the meanwhile, it is wonderful!! Works great, looks better! Rizzo

Best Deals for Frigidaire DSF-10302 Dallas Floor Standing Electric Fireplace

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program We are thoroughly enjoying this electric fireplace. First of all, it's an attractive piece and appropriate for our bedroom, den and living area. One of the best things about it is its portability we can move it wherever we wish.

Since we live in the Southwest we've yet to experience any real winter this year so have just used it during the cool mornings of late. We cannot wait for real frosty winter to arrive as we have visions of toasty evenings watching TV.

We're pleased that we don't have to heat the entire villa to make us comfortable in one room. What a boon when the bill comes around!

Think the price for it is quite reasonable and for us a Frigidaire product is a good, dependable one.

Honest reviews on Frigidaire DSF-10302 Dallas Floor Standing Electric Fireplace

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This fireplace is a bit small to do anything with. Since it's a 'fireplace,' you want it out in the open to admire it, but it's too small to act like a fireplace. If you end up putting it close to you to act as a space heater, you lose a lot of the ambiance of the fireplace and starts to look really fake. I do like that it has two heat settings -and can put out a respectable amount of heat for its size -but I think I'd opt for one of the bigger, more expensive ones over this one. It's really too small and 'space heater like' to really appreciate as a fireplace.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This floorstanding fireplace is easily moved from location to location. It gives off a pleasant orange glow in addition to the heat coming from the bottom of the unit. The control that operates the fire appearance is a rheostat on the back panel the visual effects cannot be turned off if the unit is turned on. That is, you can't have just the heat without any visual effects; even at the dimmest setting, the effects may be too bright in an otherwise dark room. The heater control can be run at half power as there are two heater switches. Leave one off and you get half the heat at half the power. I found that to be sufficient in most cases.

The only downside of the unit is the noise. The white noise from the fan is considerable in a quiet room. It isn't grating in any way but would require that you turn up your music or watch TV at a higher volume than you might otherwise in the same space. I'd prefer a quieter fan.

In comparing this with other portable heaters that I have, this unit produces the same amount of heat but costs considerably more. You're paying here for the fireplace appearance. If that's what you are looking for, there's no question that visually this product is far more appealing than your run of the mill beige colored heat generating boxes. But if the heat is what you're looking for, and visual effects are secondary, look elsewhere.

One final point of concern is the warning in the product brochure: "This fireplace is intended for supplemental heat and/or decorative purposes. Continuous use for several hours can impact the performance and life of the fireplace." This may be of concern for those who might think to use the product, say, in their home office for 7-8 hours a day during the winter or who put it in their bedroom to keep the room warm at night after they turn down the house thermostat.

Discount Stainless Steel 5-piece Indoor/Outdoor Hearth Tool Set

Customer Ratings:

I purchased this set to use with an outdoor fireplace. The styling is a little more rustic than pictured but that was okay for my purposes. The description says indoor/outdoors and that it is made of stainless steel so I assumed it was safe to leave in the elements. After one month and a few Pennsylvania summer rains, the set was pitted with rust spots. I was able to remove the rust with steel wool and rubbing compound but it took some time and a lot of elbow grease. I also waxed the set with car wax in hopes of avoiding future rust. The set in now cover with a lovely trash bag next to my hearth. Not the look I was going for.

I really like the way the product looks and feels, however, the pad for the seat of the rocker seems a bit small. Otherwise, the colors look great and really fit in my living room. Also the pads make the rocker more comfortable in which to sit.
