How many times I have lit a fire, not knowing that the damper was CLOSED. Now it is perfectly obvious when the damper is closed. A secondary benefit is that one does not have to touch and grab the soot-covered handle of the damper in order to open or close it. I saw a similar product in a local fireplace store at twice the price. THANKS Amazon.

The item arrived a day early and I installed it in about 45 minutes. Checked out works as expected. Was going to throw out the Amish fireplace but I am glad I waited. It has a new life now . My last blower went out and I thought I was going to have to throw away my electric fireplace. I had a heat surge Amish wood built electric fireplace and we loved it. The blower started making terrible noises, thumping loudly. I knew the blower went and when I tried to get the part replaced through Heat surge they first told me they wouldn't sell me any parts, then told me $90!! I found this on amazon and now my electric fireplace is working perfectly. My kids get up in the morning and turn it on, we run it most of the day as we live in an older house with no insulation. Installation instructions didn't exist, and getting the fireplace apart took some time but taking off the old one and replacing the new was self explanatory and easy.

I have a ventless gas wall heater that needed a little circulation. This unit is so quiet and efficient. I bought an 80 degree thermal switch to allow it to turn on when warm and off when no heat is produced. The unit has a thermostat so everything is automatic. Our house is 115 years old and made of adobe and brick with plaster. The furnace does really well until it gets to be 10 degrees or below outside and the extra heat from this unit is great. Also, I feel better having the backup in case I am away and the electricity goes out. Of course, the little fan won't blow but the pipes won't freeze. The price was great and was shipped well packed. It can be attached with sheet metal screws easily and with the automatic thermostat it is self maintaining.

Replaced an old wood burning fireplace in a 12x15 living room with this. I'm not one for tacky or gaudy; this is neither. Unbelievably realistic, attractive, and great source of heat. Couldn't be used to heat the house, but def takes the chill out of the room. Would recommend to anyone!

The imagery is real good and makes for a good fireplace insert. The problem comes from is when it's time to change the light bulbs. It requires some dis-assembly which should be no big deal but it is. After you dissemble the parts to get to the bulbs, it is still tight to get your hands in to unscrew the bottom bulbs. One was so tight

It blew up in my hands. leaving the screw part in the socket. Could not get it out. Tried to disassemble the box further to get at it better to no avail. Frustrated I bought a new one, to replace it. There was no guarantee, if I was able to get to it better that I would be able to get it out without breaking the plastic socket. I found it on sale on Amazon. So I bought the replacement. I have all the parts of the old one, I have another unused fireplace downstairs, when I get my basement ready I will reassemble it for looks...

I bought this last week with the intention of only using it when guests came over. Well that went out the window as soon as I got it home. It's so warm! It really takes the cold bite out of the australian winter air.

It warms the living room up much faster than the TWO fan heaters we were running put together. The flame certainly doesn't dissapoint. If anything the videos don't do it justice. At full blast the flames are bright yellow and climb up about 30-50cm from the base (you can turn it down as you please). Plenty enough to light the room and put on a good show.

At the moment the only complaint is trying to figure out the ''scent channel'' feature. Basically under the slider cover they've knocked a big dent in the metal where you can drip in some girly scented oils etc.

The problem? If you leave the dent uncovered the oils instantly catch fire, if you cover it they don't evaporate properly and you end up with a burnt brown mess under the cover when you slide it back. I've emailed the company, I'll let you all know what they say.

Still giving it five stars for performing better than imagined in every other respect. Can't believe there isn't one of these in every home.

If you'd seen it work, you'd want one.

I purchased this about a month ago and have been using it almost daily ever since. The winters here in South Florida don't last much longer than this month so I'm using it while I can. It burns clean with no soot,smoke, or odors and can heat a medium size room several degrees in a fairly short period of time. The fireplace is well built and very heavy and has inside the burner a ceramic cloth that controls the usual flareup when you first light it. The liquid ethanol fuel (unlike alcohol gel fuel) lasts forever in storage and is easy to store since it stores at any temperature. The flames are bright yellow and quite lively which again is much better than gel fuel fireplaces. Overall the unit is high quality, thick, stainless steel and I think well worth the money.

I love this product but I wish it was a bit bigger! I have two dogs that hang out on it when the fire is not going and it still looks great and vacuums easily.

This screen was a great addition to the fireplace without the cost of adding glass doors. It looks nice and is very sturdy and I can leave a small fire or embers burning and go to bed without worrying about a hot ember jumping out of the existing mesh screen.
