I ordered this because of it's clean, simple design. I don't like the ornate curlicues that most of them seem to have. It looks nice, and was easy to put together (you have to screw the handles on to the rods). My only complaint is that it's just painted black (over stainless steel, or something, I guess). We haven't even really used it yet, and the shovel has a couple of chips where you can see the silver underneath. I don't imagine anyone is going to be inspecting it up close, so it probably (hopefully) won't be a problem but I was a little disappointed.

We have an outdoor fireplace and use natural wood (not the chemical log things like duraflame). Our old tongs bent and the shovel broke after 10 yrs, so we needed to get the set replaced. The tongs on the uniflame set seem quite durable. We've used them several times now and they work for small and large logs. I was worried they would be bendy after reading a couple ratings but they have done well so far. Only had them a bit over a week. The broom does seem flimsy and too soft for a fireplace but we rarely ever use the broom so we don't care. The stand does wobble a bit but not enough to irritate me...which is easy to do. We love that the tongs have the two equal handle levers instead of the long and short (I hate those things). I hope it lasts 10 yrs like the previous set. Oh, we also keep them inside the garage instead of outdoors because our area is so windy they'll blow away like our swing & umbrella.

Wasted hard earned money. This item is too heavy and magnetic force too weak to stick to vents it's inteded for. Tried it on several types of vents, even purchased new vents to accomodate it. It falls off quickly or within a minute and that's w/o any air pressure!

Great idea. Easy to size & fit, but they're just barely magnetic. By itself it would not work with a ceiling-mounted vent -even with vent fully closed the air flow blew the magnetic cover off.

Although other reviews mentioned the lack of magnetic sticking ability, I found they work just fine. My cold air vents have not been painted...other than the factory paint. Perhaps poor results are found if the vents have several coats of paint? In my case, I carefully placed them over the correct size vent, and they stuck. Still sticking..........

I was skeptical based on the reviews, but gave them a try. And these do work in the right application, meaning, for wall mounted RETURNS, not on vents.

I imagine if they are used on vents on walls or certainly on ceilings they will blow right off. But on my wall mounted returns they stay exactly where I put them and the results in the balanced cooling in my home have been great.

Definitely worth a few dollars. Use them in the right application and you will not be disappointed.

These tools are well made and attractive, much better looking than the picture shows. We purchased a different set for $26 which was a piece of doodoo. Returned that and upgraded to these. My husband purchased this set and we were both disappointed in the smallness of the set. We had to go out and buy a "real" set of tongs to go with the set as we realized that the one provided with the set was for show only. No way could you use the tongs on a fire without heavy gloves to protect your hands as they are not true tongs no handles or hinge so you have to manually squeeze the two arms together to pick up anything.

Pretty good value for the price. I do wish it were one piece, as opposed to three. The poker, shaft, and handle are all separate pieces that screw together. They always seem to loosen on mine. I use mine for outdoor campfires, so I may be a little rougher on mine than most.

P.s. If you use yours outside, I've found that a couple pieces of reflective tape on the shaft will help you find it in the dark.

I have a firepit that came with a poker that had a plastic handle. One evening I stepped on it and it broke. I needed a replacement and bought this. This has worked great. It is all metal and the handle is wood so I cannot step on it and break it and it is not real big so it fits perfectly for storage in my fire pit.

The color of the wood is exactly like the picture. Easy to assemble and very sturdy. I also had purchased the matching end tables and now considering buying the matching sofa table. One thing the description did not tell you, it has adjustable feet to set it level on any surface. The only bad thing I have to say is about the allen wrench they send to assemble the table, it is so poorly made it is just enough to do one table. I was a happy camper with this purchase. (I created my screen name when I wasn't so much.) It's beautiful, sturdy, and easy to put together. My only hang-up was stretching the "stretcher bars" (that connect the legs at the bottom), so my tip for that is to attach the legs loosely at first, and then tighten them once the stretcher bar is finished.

The initial set of tools delivered had the top of the tool stand broken (where the tools hang) off the upright. Contacted the seller and had a new set delivered with all pieces undamaged. The tools themselves are very solid and functional although they may be a tad large for most wood stoves . . . perhaps more of a true fireplace tool.

The only thing I wasn't very happy with was the quality of the welds holding the stand together. As I said, the first one had a broken top due to poor welds and the second, although not broken, could certainly have been welded better. For the price, I would have thought there would have been a little better quality control.

Aidens Hearth was great about getting the replacement tool set. I would definitely recommend the seller.

I ordered this rack mainly because we needed a fireplace tool set, and I didn't want one of those tool rack sets where the tools are always swinging around and the whole thing is so easy to tip over (especially living in a house with dogs!). The log rack part of it was a bonus.

This is exactly what I was hoping for. The rack was easy to assemble, and is extremely sturdy and nice-looking. The tools are heavy and have nice long handles; very functional. The bottom section of the rack, though pictured empty in the product image, is perfect for keeping our kindling stacked separately from the bigger pieces of firewood. The top section holds plenty of wood for either a couple of small/short fires, or a nice raging all-evening fire on a cold winter night.

The only reason I gave this four stars instead of five is because when it was first assembled, it didn't quite sit level; something in the construction wasn't quite square, so one foot sat slightly off the ground. My husband was able to remedy this by drilling a screw into the bottom of that foot (it would also have been easy enough to just put a piece of cardboard or something under it, but we wanted something more permanent). Aside from that minor setback, we're very happy with it.
