The Dandas Jafine MFX38X Aluminum Duct works well. I bought a portable dryer and my 4" duct was too large. Using this 3" x 8' duct and a 3" to 4" taper/converter, I was able get the job done. As with all ducts, extending it to the maximum length (8 foot in this case) damages it. I got 6 feet out and I could feel it stressing.

I just received this fireplace screen. It is of average quality at best (kind of like something you might find at Garden Ridge). The screen is made in China, the hinges don't open smoothly, and the welds are bumpy, unpainted, and often not even complete. Some of the other glowing reviews of this screen are suspect in my opinion. If you click on the 'see all my reviews' link, you will find that many of the reviewers have only reviewed this one item. It is possible that someone with a financial interest in these screens is posting bogus reviews. I regret this purchase and will return it once the seller, American Home Furnishing, replies to my e-mail (strangely, the seller didn't include a receipt or return instructions in the box).

I just received this fireplace screen and it is awesome! It's much more beautiful than the picture. It matches my furniture perfectly. It is solidly built and it will last for years. It's probably 20-25 pounds at least. The f/p screens you buy at the store are really flimsy compared to this one. I was suppose to receive it by April 20th and I actually got it by April 3rd! It came wrapped in bubble wrap with fragile on the box.

This screen was beautiful and sturdy; a good value for the money. But it appeared that the screen had been repaired. On the first screen we received there were several large areas where the mesh had apparently been repaired. Most of the spots were very conspicuous. I contacted the seller, and they very promptly sent out a new screen and had fed ex pick up the original screen. When we received the second screen, it was in worse shape. It did have a few spots that appeared to be patched, but they were much smaller. Right in the middle of the main panel there was a hug cut in the mesh about 6 inches long. I contacted them about the problem with the second screen. They did send fed ex to pick up the screen and issue me a refund. Unfortunately I really wanted this particular screen, but they would not send out a third. They do not have the screens in their warehouse, they have a third party manufacturer send it out for them. They have no way to know what condition the screen is in when it ships.

After shopping the home stores and Fireplace specialty shops and even the internet I settled on this screen. Don't be fooled by the price! It is beautiful, it is not one bit flimsy. It has a nice weight to it. It is solid Black just like I was looking for and the workmanship is excellent. Much to my surprise I recieved the screen well before the estimated shipping date and in perfect condition. As always shopping with Amazon was a great deal this screen was a steal it compares to the $200 screens I saw in the stores.

I was so excited to find this fireplace screen and especially for the price I didnt even think twice before whippin' out my credit card and BAM--it was on it's way. Then I realized how impulive that was for me so I thought I would take a look at the reviews (hoping they would all be good). Most of them were, but there are a few that had me worried, but I figured I would just see what it was like when it arrived. It came within less than a week and I LOVE IT!!! It's seems to be good quality, has a nice weight to it, and wasn't damaged at all. It looks beautiful with my fireplace and my new mantel. Trust me, this was my FIRST time to ever buy something like this online becuase I generally like to see it in person, but what can I say--something got into me that day and I'm so glad it did.....Now, what else can I buy.... ;)

This cart has changed our lives. We heat totally with wood. Our woodstove has room on either side for stacks of wood that will last approximately 4-5 days. I have used this cart for three seasons now and it is the best way to haul firewood! It handles heavy loads with ease, is well built and balances nicely. Perhaps the best feature are the large, spoked wheels. They will negotiate steps or other obstacles easily and contribute to the overall balance of the cart. If your wood storage is a distance from your stove and you want an easy way to haul your wood, this is the way to go. I also maintain some chickens and turkeys and this also serves well to haul feed bags from the truck into the barn. You can't go wrong with this cart.

UPDATE: Excellent customer support from Carts Vermont. Responded next business day. They are replacing this pellet pallet with one that's preassembled since I'm not the only customer with this issue. On the assumption that this process will run smoothly, I've updated my rating. If you order it, make sure it has the preassembled pellet pallet.

Original review:

This wood carrier is well made but it comes with a "pellet pallet" that is virtually impossible to assemble into the cart. A separate set of instructions are included for the pellet pallet (this is the wide plywood piece that sits above the wheels in all photos). It's clear that the pellet pallet is post-engineered onto the cart. The assembly of it is a complete kludge. You're supposed to clamp some cross bars onto the bottom of the plywood but the ends of the bars are flattened which makes them too wide for the clamps provided. From all appearances, the plywood doesn't add anything structural to the cart, so toss it or use it for firewood. If you need the flat surface that the pellet pallet is supposed to provide, you're almost certainly out of luck.

Received as a gift. Dump liner, the piece of wood one would remove to dump the load is warped. Upon further inspection, the sides, bottom and back liner made of cheap, and I mean cheap press board. I called the company headquarters in Vermont...NSA Industries and dealt with two very unfriendly people, Kathy and Jeff. Jeff asked me to send pictures which I did. I was told the unit was at least two years old and looked like it had been used outside. How foolish of me to think a yard cart would be used on outdoor projects. As for the quality of the unit, I looked for the label "Made in China". Jeff refused to warranty the piece and I was directed to their web site where I could purchase the piece for 27.00 and 15.00 shipping.

So much for this company. Cheap product, poor customer service equals a trip to the John Deere dealer where at least they are friendly, sell quality merchandise, and back up what they sell.

One other item...I can't believe how stupid I was to use an outdoor cart outdoors.

Jeff I am guilty and understand fully why you would not honour a warranty.

I bought a version of this cart that was sold without the pellet pallet (NOT from Amazon!). It was fine initially, but it is NOT durable. The tubes collapsed and bent, and I called to get them replaced. The cost of replacement of the parts was nearly the cost of a new cart, so I had a friend solder the joints and put on a metal stabilizing brace to give the cart more support. That lasted less than a season and now I have a useless cart once again. I would not buy this cart again.

I bought my fan in January 2012, and it shipped from Hardware Sales. The fan worked fine out of the box. It warmed up and started spinning in a matter of minutes. It only took a few more minutes for me to notice the difference it makes. The fan is virtually silent, and it does not produce any noticeable air movement (you have to put your hand rather close to it to feel the air move) but it works! I've been having trouble with very cold corners of my house, but this fan really spreads the heat out. It should pay for itself pretty quickly as I will be able to turn off supplemental electric heat in various rooms.

The down side:

My fan worked for less than 24 hours. It slowed way down, though the stove temperature was still hot enough to be powering the fan. Confused, I checked Caframo's website and found a question about slowing down on the FAQ page. It asks you to enter your model, and if you select 812 AirMax (this model) it then asks for the serial number to your fan. I entered my number and a page popped up saying that this particular fan was part of a bad production run and that it needed a replacement motor. It asks for address info and then confirms that they will send a replacement motor free of charge. They have a video on their website to show how to replace it (simple task).

So. . . if the product had worked properly, I would have given it 5 stars. Since Caframo seems to acknowledge the problem and makes it easy to remedy, I'm willing to give it another shot. Until it's up and working though, I have t give it 1 star.

What's a little bit irritating is that they know which ones are problematic, but that did not stop it from arriving at my doorstep. With more organization, I would think they could make an effort to recall the product from their distributors and replace them before they get into the hands of customers. In the meantime, I'll be paying for heat for a few more days.

In addition, Caframo should have informed me of the defect when I registered the product online (which meant entering the serial number).

I am glad I checked their website, otherwise I would have just thought it was poorly designed and that I had wasted $130. I feel bad for customers who might not check up on it and are stuck with a poorly working fan.

I'll update my review once the problem is fixed.

I bought this hoping it could replace the blower that is built-in to my woodstove, because the blower is very loud and uses electricity. This fan does look very cool, uses no electricity, and pushes a decent amount of air. I'd probably need 2 of them to come close to replacing the blower.

However, there are some issues with this fan that prevent me from using this as I had hoped. It's still a useful purchase, but I figured I'd spell out some of the issues so other people can be aware of some of the limitations before they buy this.

-as far as I can tell, the fan does not automatically start. I've waited until the stove was 550 and the only way to get the fan going is to manually give it a spin. I have a thermostat on the stove top

-it takes a while for the heat from the stove to reach the fan, so you have to wait like 20-30 minutes after the stove has reached temperature before the fan will work.

-the fan spins very slow at lower temperatures. It really only pushes a good amount of air at like 500-600.

Unfortunately, this vastly limits the fan's usefulness to me, as I usually start a fire before work or bed and leave while the stove is still at 250-300. I don't have time to wait another 30-60 minutes for the stove to be at a high temperature and the heat to have reached the fan to manually spin and start the fan.

It's a neat little device and works great on days that I am home. It also works great when I have company over and I can turn off the loud blower. But it doesn't work so great for the reason I bought it. I don't regret purchasing it, but I do wish it did more.

This worked great the first couple fires or so, but then it slowed down dramatically. The instructions that come with it warn you to not use it above a 600 degree fire or so. I have a thermometer on my stovetop that goes to 850, and my fires sometimes get that hot, depending on what kind of wood I'm burning. I'm usually around the 700 range as a high temperature, but I'm sure I've been up to 850. I don't know if I damaged it, or if it just wore out. I certainly don't want to babysit my fire just to have the fan.

Living in northern Vermont yields some very cold weather, wind, snow & very poorly insulated houses, which is precisely our problem. We'd been looking to purchase one of these fans for several months & finally jumped on it after seeing one at a friend's house on their gas stove. They LOVED there's, had it for several years without incident & said the fan really does make a huge difference. We are so thrilled with this little fan; it works SO well, whirring right along, moving all that cold air that comes in right around across the stove for an outpouring of so much warmth, pushing it throughout the house & reaching even the coolest areas. KICKING ourselves for not buying one earlier in the season! NO noise! Perfect!!

I have read reviews about people holding tinsel & paper in front of the fan and not seeing any movement, which I think is either one of three things; either your fan is broken, misplaced on the stovetop (directions tell you exactly where to place it) or simple ignorance. If you want to SEE movement, don't hold your paper or tinsel or tissue directly in front of that fan, hold it to the outer sides of the fan where the blades are actually moving the air from & wait until your fan is really whirring (stovetop temp 450-650 degrees). If you can't feel the warmth moving across the stovetop, you're doing something wrong or your fan is broken.

I also don't think that this is overpriced. We're saving on electricity, we're heating the whole house, the tornado of a fan we had plugged in before did nothing but cool the stove down & keep the house nice & cold in the morning when the fire had died down with the electric fan still blowing across it. This little guy keeps going & has made the most tremendous difference in heating our 1800 sq foot, very poorly insulated home. We have a big pot of water on the opposite side of the stove, too to help with humidity & the fan helps disperse the water vapors more, too, which also adds to the warmth & comfort level. SO should have gotten one sooner!! If this guy quits on us, we'll definitely be back for another one. Seriously a great product!

Fuel burns clean. We use it in a portable fireplace in a yoga studio and there is no appreciable smell to the fuel when burning and there is only a slight smoke smell when extinguished. Unlike many of the bio-ethanol products it appears to be mostly ethanol and iso-propanol. There appears to be no methanol content and as such the unburned product smells more like moonshine compared to the methanol which smells more like acid.

We tried the fuel out in our Brasa fireplace last night. It works very well and burns clean. There is a slight smell, however nothing overwhelming ...use the differenct scents to lessen the fuel smell. This does give off some heat, which surprised us..

Easy to set up and works great, I have a 20x12 little cabin in upstate NY and its perfect. Heads up, make sure you burn it a few times outside before you set it up, it has some kind of protectve coating that smokes and smells wierd on the first couple of fires. Also you have to cut the wood in about 12 to 13 inch lenths. As for coal, NY only has clean burning anthracite coal which burns to hot for this stove. PA has Biuminous or dirty coal and thats what this stove takes, so if passing through PA pick up a load.

We bought this to add to our prepping. Hard to find in Florida but if a hurricane comes through you could still use one for cooking if electric is out for days. I was looking for an old one with the oven but am glad I have this for now. Bought the coleman camp oven to set on top of it for baking but havent tried it yet so not sure how it will work out. I do know it is getting a little rust on it even though it is under shelter and has not been used yet so will have to get the black paint for hot cookers and spray it down. Pieces are heavy and there is a lot of glass involved. It looks ok to display small things. The light only lights the top half, by the way. Not the bottom two shelves. They are dark. It took me almost 5 hours to put together with my sons help. Every piece is screwed together, and almost nothing is pre-assembled. Some pre-drilled holes were not done correctly, so I would need to use a lot of effort to make the screw go in. It would have been much easier if I had and electric screw driver. The over all look is nice when done...and you really feel like you earned it. Ha,ha!
