The Dandas Jafine MFX38X Aluminum Duct works well. I bought a portable dryer and my 4" duct was too large. Using this 3" x 8' duct and a 3" to 4" taper/converter, I was able get the job done. As with all ducts, extending it to the maximum length (8 foot in this case) damages it. I got 6 feet out and I could feel it stressing.

Review of Pleasant Hearth Electric Insert with Heater

I searched for quite awhile and looked at many different models of electric fireplace inserts before deciding on this one. It was a tough decision because I couldn't find a video of it in action so I decided to post one of my own. I'm sorry because it is dark but hopefully it will give you a little bit of an idea what this insert is like when its on.

I expected it to be brighter, although, as I said, I looked at a lot and I found that they pretty much all have the same level of brightness. I kept looking for that truly "real" fire look in an electric model and quickly had to realize it just doesn't exist, that is, unless you're willing to spend about a $1,000...I THINK NOT!

So for the price this is a very cute model and I love the way it looks inside our mantel. The arched top is an especially cute feature. I also enjoy that the heat comes out of the bottom as opposed to being top mounted as it is on other models. It heats up the room nicely and shuts off on its own when put on a lower setting, which is also very nice. We enjoyed having ours set up just before Christmas and I look forward to continued use in the warmer months since you are able to have the option of just flames with no heat. To me that makes it much better than a real fireplace that is only usable for a few months out of the year. Can't beat it.

This insert is very nice. With a screen in front of the fireplace it looks very real. It's nice because you don't have to worry about going to bed and leaving the fireplace burning. If you use the heat factor, it warms up a room very nicely.

This well made hearth won't replace your central heat, but looks good and really saves all that heat loss when you burn the fireplace if you don't have an expensive glass door. We only used our fireplace a few times a year and while real wood smells nice and real flames do look better, more heat went up the flue than into the living room. This product puts out an adequate amount of heat, but you may want to raise it up two or three inches. I used a row of old bricks and the heat being directed into the room, rather than directly on the floor improved significantly.

It has a nice metal back and the flames are very realistic. Higher priced products are often cheap wood and plastic. As for a real smoke smell, short of setting fire to the ricking chair I can't help you out.

I purchased these although there were a few poor reviews. I had been using the standard Duraflame logs. My opinion is the Gold logs burn much brighter and hotter. If the fire dies down a quick poke in the middle of the log will bring about large flames. I have found the burn time to be accurate. If you make fires as much as we do and want a more realistic burn, I would 100% recommend these.

PS, I have a sensitive nose and did not notice much of any fuel smell. I do keep a close by window slightly propped just for fresh air.

Got tired of using a bunch of paper to light my fires. Mine arrived in fine shape, but was missing the rod that connects the soap stone to the handle. Not a big deal, the factory sent me a replacement very quickly. I use lamp oil in mine and have had no problems. I did have issues getting it to take a flame in the beginning, but I quickly found that if I stuck the stone in some ashes and then lit the ashes, it worked great. The ashes acted like a "wick" to take the flame, because the straight lamp oil wouldn't. Used it for 2 winter seasons and no issues.

Even though I haven't had an opportunity to use it yet, this product looks fabulous and I bought the candles at Bed bath and Beyond and they will fit just fine. I do not like leaving negative feedback and there was not much to read on this Candelabra.

I hesitated writing this due to my bum right leg and no vehicle to travel the distance to our Post Office to return it but I must confess this was a "toss up" between a 2 and the 3 and this is why...

The front legs are very wobbly and there is no way to tighten them. Half of the round disks that are supposed to simply screw in to hold the candles screwed in crooked after many attempts to straighten them therefore, the candles to not stand or burn in a correct manner.

I thought I could purchase this at the wonderful price offered but do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to get a better one.

I hope this feedback helps others.

This is a nice substantial piece high quality. Everyone comments on it when they first see it "wow you have a fireplace in your bedroom" I live in FL, so fireplaces are not common. It's a fairly inexpensive way to add sophisticated decor to a room. It's not going to heat up your room, but that's not its purpose. I think it's more impactful in a place where you don't expect a fireplace like maybe a dining room or master bath. It's very heavy, and needs to be hung on a support beam or stud or whatever that's called. My husband said he couldn't hang it exactly where I wanted because the drywall wouldn't support it.

I've learned that it's important to buy a good quality grate as the cheap ones will disintegrate within the season. What a fantastic looking log rack!

Basically, since we just bought a house I didn't want to spend the money on an expensive log rack, and this turned out to the be the perfect thing for storing the wood that I am splitting. So many people toss good burnable wood away because they don't want to pay tree service professionals extra to cut the wood down to fireplace size.

I built this log rack with pressurized wood from Lowe's. The base is made with 8' 2x4's, the verticals are made with 4' 2x4's, and the width is made with 2' 2x4's which totals a half cord of wood (8' x 4' x 4'). It works great. I put deck screws in the pre-drilled bracket holes for added stability.

I also put a piece of plywood on top, and since it was angled (I didn't care about cutting the vertical pieces to size initially, so I just trimmed them up afterwards), I put shingles on it, and now I have a gorgeous looking covered log rack. I will probably buy a second bracket kit next spring once I split the rest of the wood and want to store a whole cord for next winter.

I would advise you to try and find some cinderblocks to put the rack up on, so air can circulate around the bottom of the wood and will dry it out even faster.

All in all I would highly recommend this log rack kit regardless of your experience with wood-working in the past!

I assembled mine using pressurized wood and exterior screws. The base is made with 8' 2x4's and one cross 2x4 added to the center of the base for stiffing. The verticals are 4' 2x4's. It works great.

Works as advertised. Got a 10 x 11.5 heavy duty tarp from Home Depot, some pressure treated 2 x 4's a couple of bungees, and in no time I had a log rack measuring 9.5' long by 4' high. I used a couple of screws to maintain width, but that was not necessary. These brackets are plenty strong, and should last a long time.

I have been using these for several years to build stands to season firewood. I use two lengths of 8 foot 2x4's spliced together with Simpson strong ties to make each stand about 16' long and use 6' uprights at each end. I elevate the entire setup on surplus masonry blocks to keep it about 1' off the ground and support about every 2'. So far the 2x4 have not rotted as they did when I first had them set directly on the ground. The only other improvement I will make is to put a rope across the top of my uprights to keep them from splaying outward under the force of the stack of wood. Each setup holds well over a cord of wood if cut in 18" lengths.

Check price at local farm store and save some money. I haven't used it yet because I bought the wrong brush. Only use wire brush on masonry chimney and use poly on metal chimneys.
