Very attractive design. However, the doors hinges were not welded properly so there is a 1/16" gap at the top of the left door, and a 1/4" gap at the top of the right door. Very noticeable. Made in China where quality control seems to be non-existent.

In this economy, I scour the net for the best quality & deal for my $ and settled on this fireplace screen after reading the specs (wanted doors so that I wouldn't have to move it to add wood or stoke the fire) & reviews and it is everything the reviews said quality metal, aligned doors (at least my doors were), legs to keep it steady & balanced, nice black color & glass inserts. Magnets hold the doors closed & there is a metal "U" piece included to insert in a metal tube behind each door to lock them so a child cannot open them nice touch & safety feature. Ready to face this winter with a much better looking fireplace!

This came in 3 large boxes, the legs are in a zippered compartment under the bottom of the pieces. The color "mocha" is literally the color of a coffee with heavy cream; it's very neutral and nice. The sectional is VERY light. That means when you sit on it, it does move. We have it on a hard floor... if it were on carpet I think it would stay still.

We searched high and low and went to the 20 furniture shops in our area, and we couldn't find any sectionals that were small enough to fit our space, that's why we ordered this one. The measurements were accurate.

I have to say that the shipping from Furniture Warehouse was awful, and I will certainly do a review of that site with a 1 star. It was shipped via "roadrunner" freight. It arrived at their closest location (2 hours from my town) 2 days after the "should arrive by" date. We had to call them to set up delivery and they informed us "we would have called you tomorrow." I contacted the seller by email because we were going out of town and wanted to track the packed... they gave me a tracking number and the message, "call if that doesn't help." I tried to call and left several messages and they never did call back. Upon arrival the truck driver looked like he didn't want to be there. The boxes were damaged.

Even after all that... the sectional was in good condition. The material is nice, easy to clean. The material is a light weight type, so we'll see how it holds up. That being said, the shape is nice, it assembled easily, it went together very solidly, it is the shape and color described, the pillows did come as described and pictured. It's comfortable, and fits our space. I think it's too expensive for the quality, but since the shipping was included and we couldn't find this size sectional locally... it's a decent deal.

I looked at this for a long time and had a hard time ordering it because it had a hard time finding any reviews on this furniture. I I would not have such good history and trust with Amazon, I would not have ordered it. If you have any questions, please ask and I will respond. This sectional really fits our space, it was accurately described, and it looks nice. So, 4 stars.

Fuel burns clean. We use it in a portable fireplace in a yoga studio and there is no appreciable smell to the fuel when burning and there is only a slight smoke smell when extinguished. Unlike many of the bio-ethanol products it appears to be mostly ethanol and iso-propanol. There appears to be no methanol content and as such the unburned product smells more like moonshine compared to the methanol which smells more like acid.

We tried the fuel out in our Brasa fireplace last night. It works very well and burns clean. There is a slight smell, however nothing overwhelming ...use the differenct scents to lessen the fuel smell. This does give off some heat, which surprised us..

The Dimplex Celeste Stove is well made and a much better value than the cheaper stoves that are available.

The "fire" in the stove is realistic especially the glowing embers. To a casual glance it looks like a real fire (although with careful examination the "flames" are not as realistic). The cabinet is very sturdy and gives a well-built feel. The cream color is nice and the finish is durable.

Note that the stove can use a lot of electricity 15 amps when the fire, air filter, and heater are all working. If you have it plugged into a 15 amp circuit any additional load (a lamp, tv, etc.) on the circuit will trip the circuit breaker. Ideally it should have a dedicated circuit for its exclusive use.

I bought this item about Three Years ago We progressed from a wood burning fireplace, to a Gas insert ( really beautiful but expensive to use), "Down" to this unit. I would never have dreamed that THIS solution would be far the best.

Instant heat ( if you want ) , and a SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL, very realistic looking

"flame". After all this time using it I'm still tempted to touch the top to make sure it isn't overheating . It looks that real.

Recently I moved this unit to our Bedroom and put a Dimplex electric fireplace insert in the fireplace ( Dimplex Deluxe 23" insert ~ $300 on Amazon). I like it

very much, but I must admit I still prefer the "old stove" for the absolutely best looking flame. You can't go wrong with Dimplex. They are the Gold Standard for realistic electric fires.

We purchased this unit to help us heat a medium/large space in our 80 year old that isn't as well insulated or heated as the rest of the house. With the house thermostat set to 67 degrees, that room is 62 in the morning when we wake up and it's in the low 30s at night. So we got this heater...

Pros:

-nice looking

-heats the room rather well...about 2 degrees per hour (not fast, but it's not a big unit, but then will hold it there pretty well)

Cons

-thermostat in the back so a little hard to reach

-can't set a particular temperature, have to let the room get comfortable and then dial down until you hear a "click"

-thermostat seems rather sensitive (slightly further turning = room gets too cold/too warm)

-no timer to allow it to turn on automatically in the AM

-3-stage "on" settings where heat is the last stage...can't have JUST heat, must have fire as well. Air filter/blower WILL be on at all times if you want heat (cycle goes: fire on --> fire + blower on --> fire + blower + heater on)

All in all satisfied, but I wish it had a little more control over the temperature and I wish you could set it to have JUST heat on so it came on/off with thermostat.

Great looking stove, however, I find that there is no much heat thrown out. Over time the room does get heated but not very fast. My last stove had two fan speeds; which helped move the heated air much quicker. THis unit does not have that feature and I miss it.

Well constructed, heavy cast iron, very realistic fire and logs!

I first want to let everyone know who buys this, probably MOST of these fireplaces come in 2 boxes so dont worry when you just get 1/2 (1 box is the insert and 1 box is the mantel)

That being said, I am absolutely in love with this Fireplace. My home is very open and very white so this was a perfect choice for what I need, The color is off white and the details on the mantel are very simple but quite classy.

Putting the unit together was very easy, the directions were very strait froward and easy to follow, everything was numbered correctly even the hardware bag with the screws and dowels. (only needed a Philips screw driver )

Once put together the fireplace feels very solid and sturdy. (I have the fireplace on carpet and a very fat curious cat so was worried about tipping, that wont happen) . The flames look great (as 1 person said they look about as real as any fake flame could look) The heating unit puts off a good amount of heat and the blower sounds about what you would expect,(blowing) I dont find it bothersome or loud.

Over all I am finding this to be the perfect addition to my living room and I feel quite confident in recommending this fireplace for durability, quality, ease of putting together, and above all beauty!!

The fireplace does look very nice. However, the flame effect is not as realistic as another fireplace I purchased from Lowes for $250, which was a bit of a disappointment.

THe major issue I have with this item is that the flame effect has become increasingly noisy. THere is a continual knocking sound, which is caused by the servo motor that spings the reflector to create the flame effect. Its too noisy to switch on, and I fear that soon it will break altogether. Not what you expect for $500.

I should have bought a better quality one.

I got this delivered today. Very fast shipping. A little hard to put together for a woman. One piece got bumped off during shipping but I was able to glue it back. After assembly this fireplace is beautiful. The flames look very real and it puts out good heat. It's also a very good size. I would have given 5 stars but didnt because of the one piece and a few nicks. I would recommend this fireplace. :)

This is the second Trim Kit I have purchased. (Left the first one in previous house). The instructions for assembly are bad and difficult to follow. Just pictures with no written instructions. Worst part is the poor quality of screws for assembly. They are cheaply made and threads easily stripped during installation. It was, again, as with the first kit I purchased, a very frustrating experience to assemble.

Dealing with Amazon, through whom I made the purchase, was a good experience.

Yes, the instructions are a joke. After reading them several times and studying the the diagrams, I did manage to get the thing put together. All told, it took me about 2 and half hours. Luckily, I did not have a problem with any of the screws as mentioned in other reviews. My biggest fear was I would run out of them, but as it turned out, there were a few extra included. When I finished installing the fire screen, I could not get it to close all the way. I have about a 3 inch gap in the middle between the two screens where they are supposed to close. Seems the hardware that holds the two curtain rods in the middle is in the way. No big deal though as it still looks pretty good left partially open. You know, I'm still scratching my head whether it's a design flaw or if I'm the one whose flawed. Anyways, as mentioned by most other reviewers, the directions were not much help in solving the problem.

The finished trim kit is very nice looking and frames my fireplace perfectly. Think of a picture frame surrounding a painting. It really does make a positive difference. It also hides the fireplace insert somewhat and I think makes it look more like a real wood fire.

The trim frame is well made of heavy steel and painted flat black. My fireplace opening measures 35 inches wide by 28 inches high framed in by a one inch piece of metal on the top and sides. As luck would have it, the trim kit just made the height limit at about 28 and and a half inches and fit the width perfectly with the trim kit extended to 36 inches. This allowed the trim kit to frame my fireplace opening perfectly without covering any of my "one of a kind" decorative tiles.

If I didn't need to have a perfect fit to frame in my fireplace, I would have certainly opted out for a less expensive fireplace screen or glass door set. You should too.

Update: After studying the mechanics of the closing mechanism for a couple of weeks, I finnally solved the problem and now I can close both screens completely in the middle. I now intend on leaving the screen fully closed as it really does look better this way. Says something about the terrible directions that come with the trim package.

Well-constructed & does what it's designed to do, but it took me 6 hours to assemble and install this fireplace frame. The problem is mostly due to shortcomings in the instructions.

First, there are practically no instructions at all; it's follow the pictures . . . if your eyesight is good enough. Do not attempt this if you are spatially challenged, a novice at do-it-yourself projects, or lack sufficient lighting.

Second, the baggy of tiny black screws contains a surprise. Those screws all look much alike, but two of them are definitely not the same as the rest. Those two have have larger threads; if used in the wrong place, they could easily strip a pre-drilled hole (as an earlier reviewer may have done). Unfortunately, there is no warning note and those two screws are not called for until late in the process when it is time to fasten the frame bracket to the fireplace insert. By then, I had unwittingly used one of those two oddballs in the wrong place. I discovered the problem because none of the regular screws would grip the larger holes in the insert brackets. After unsuccessfully searching all packaging for two larger screws, I dumped the entire baggy of screws onto a white plate under good light and finally noticed one screw that looked a little different. If I had unwittingly used both of those oddballs, I would still be scratching my head & cussing Dimplex. Going back over previous steps, I located the first oddball screw and removed it; whew, that hole was not stripped. I gently re-did that step with a regular-size screw & a prayer.

Third, there is only one way to properly install the chain-link curtain . . . but 47 wrong ways. I counted. The pictures are little help; they show the objective, not the process. It takes ingenuity, persistence, and luck. Warning, do not let either rod slip out of place once installed or you'll be in recovery mode. And that leads to:

Fourth, there is no part . . . seriously . . . no part included to hold those curtain rods in place. Normal operation of the curtain can and will shuck those rods out of their brackets and you'll be in recovery mode once again. Either do what I did install the curtains & rods, then immediately wind some wire tightly around the straight ends of the rods & fix it in place with super glue. Or, if you're a patient person, visit a hardware store to buy two little "keepers" for the straight ends of those rods. And some super glue.

Three stars to match the three hairs that I have left after assembling and installing this fireplace frame. It sure does look great, though, and fortunately my wife thinks bald is sexy.

We live in southern California so an open face fireplace is a waste of energy, not only that it is most places. We converted to gas logs that was no better we had to open a door or window to make it draw air correctly, if we did not the gas fumes would chase everyone out of the room. The electric flames look great, it even heats a little or will take the chill off the air( all we need). Best of all the fireplace is now blocked off on the roof and blocked in the flue, no more pasive heat loss, as dampers allow a lot of cold air in when there is no fire. I love this fireplace. I am buying the trim kit. We have solar panels so the heat is free! I am a contractor so it was easier for me to assemble. Otherwise you need to be a very handy person.

After reading some of the reviews I was a bit hesitant to attempt to put this thing together by myself. However, hubby is out of town and I couldn't stand to see the box just sitting there. I decided to give it a try and approached it with a positive attitude and a sense of humor.

First I went through the screws and pulled out the two that were different from the others. (I saw this on a previous review).

The instructions are really just a drawing of how to put it together. I decided to use the French ones so I could claim I was bilingual for the morning. It really went together very easily, the pieces fit together just as labeled although I did have to back some screws out a few times and reposition them. No biggie.

The two different screws came in at the very end when you attach the trim kit to the Dimplex fireplace. Those are the only screws that will work there, so make sure you separate them out. They are the last two screws you need to put in.

As per a previous review, my screen will not meet in the middle and I can't really figure out why. They said they were able to fix theirs so I may contact them and ask how.

All in all, it took me a little over an hour. It looks really nice, but I do think it's a bit pricey for the quality. I would put the unit and trim kit in a main room (living room or dining room) but it's looks great in our guest room.

I'm moving into a smaller apartment that has no real charm or focal point. This is an inexpensive way to create a focal point.

Please note that this is not a large scale mirror/mantle. It is smaller than you think. If you have large scale furniture, this may not be the right solution for you. It reminds me more of the small size of coal fireplaces in Victorian homes. I wish the mantle were deeper, but for the price and concept, it is a good product and fills a need.

It was easy to assemble. My mirror part arrived shattered, which I discovered on a weekend day when the company was closed. I sent an email with photos and the company responded to my email inquiry quickly on Monday, promising to send a replacement mirror part within a week.

I'd buy from SEI and angelo:HOME again.
