We bought this to take the chill of of cooler evenings, it's a pretty well made item and you can tell it is durable. We are on our second year with it, and no problems as of yet. It has a rustic stone look to it, very nice for complementing the urban style with the fire pit type of function.

I'll do a cursory overview of relevant details:

📦 UNBOXING

It's packaged in a standard, durable type of box, packaged with styrofoam, the whole unit comes out all as one piece, no connections are required. The red rocks and manual are included in the box.

🔩 SETUP

There are only two things needed to begin using this, one you will open and distribute the red rock in the bowl, then two you will need a standard size (20lb) propane tank which connects and sits underneath the bowl (not included). One side of the base pulls off to insert the propane tank, then re-attaches to hide the tank. It's super simple, just like hooking up a propane tank to a grill.

📐 SIZE AND APPEARANCE

It looks good, it's got a nice stone look to it and the red rocks hide all of the propane distribution. It's a nice decorative item for the patio. The dimensions are: 28.74"H x 20.67"W x 20.67"D, it's a pretty substantial unit, while not overly large.

🚧 CONSTRUCTION

It's pretty much all resin, stone looking. The control knob is black plastic, and the ignitor is black plastic with a rubberized button similar to gas grills.

♨ USE

There is a control knob on the outside of the unit, on one side, just set the knob and press the ignition button to light the fire bowl, this unit comes with the battery needed for the ignition button, one AAA battery. I have only used this a few times and haven't had to replace the battery yet.

Once lit, adjust the fire to your liking, I usually set it to high and it really takes the chill off of a cool evening. It's important to note that you will need to sit or stand near this, it's a smaller fire than a campfire, and since the bowl is fairly small it doesn't get terribly hot.

When you are done, turn it off, that's pretty much it. I usually go ahead and turn the propane tank off as well, just to be safe.

✏ OVERALL

We like it, it's not the hottest fire pit you could possibly get, but to take the chill off of the evening it works well and is much easier than having to buy and stock firewood, and it's easy to use, once you are ready to come inside just turn it off and you are done, no need to douse a fire or something like that. Also it's nice for us as we have a lot of tree cover in the vicinity, and wouldn't be able to have a large fire here.

My spouse and I purchased one of these last fall to have something that looked nice and kept us warm. We have a couple of the standard heating lamps that stand 7 feet tall, but they always left me cold if we were not directly below them. We added this to our patio set and the problem was solved. It heats from chair height level, and is really nice to look at. The exterior design really does look like stone, and the firebowl on top can be adjusted for flame height. The only thing I could say negative about this is the amount of lava rock...but any hardware store will sell a bag of lava rock for around $3.00, so a super easy fix. We ended up buying 2 more of these. One for my mother, and another for a wedding gift for our closest friends. You will like this.

I got a Mr. Heater Single unit about 8 years ago as a backup source of heat after hurricane Hugo knocked out our power for three weeks. It is still working fine and has come in real handy during infrequent ice storms and winter power failures.

My dad liked my single a lot so he bought a Mr. Heater Double to heat a big 3 car garage sized shop. He liked it but now thinks that a single would have worked fine as the double gets that big area heated in no time and keeps it really toasty.

My single unit works far better than gas logs to heat up a room. It does make a hissing sound that is not too loud but barely audible. A single will knock the chill off a large room in no time. A tank of propane will last about 30 to 36 continuous hours if you keep it set on low. I think this is a great alternative to other auxilary heat sources like Kerosuns or a fireplace. With an asthmatic child in our family, a kerosene heater is out of the question for us. This burns clean, creates no odor, smoke or soot. There's no maintenance, no wicks or anything like that. You can store it indefinitely untouched and then pull it out and fire it up with no preparation. I will buy another one if mine ever wears out.

I have recommended Mr. Heater to lots of my friends and family and have no reservation about recommending one to you. If you can't decide whether you need a single, double or triple I suggest trying the single first. Then if you aren't happy step up to the double or triple. It is really amazing how much heat a Mr. Heater Single generates!

It is rare to find a really good product that is durable and an excellent value. Mr. Heater is one of those rare finds. They are the Zippo lighter of auxillary space heaters in my opinion.

I live in the South, and in November each year I like to build a temporary enclosure for my deck. Last year I tried to rely on a firepit and electric heater for warmth--big mistake. This year I have the Mr. Heater--big bonus.

I've owned and operated the Mr. Heater for a few days now, and I can tell you that it really puts out the heat. If you're used to plug-in heaters you buy at Wal-Mart, you'll be blown away by the heat this thing puts out. 8,000 BTU's is incredible (that's the lowest setting). There just isn't anything comparable in its class.

I've never used propane before, so I was hesitant (there's just something about all that compressed lethel gas that gives me pause). But, it has been easy.

1. Buy the Mr. Heater and READ the manuel.

2. Go to Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and purchase a 20lb. propane tank. At the time of this writing, it costs about $48 for a filled tank (since you're a first-time buyer).

3. There's a threaded pipe part of the Mr. Heater that you press into the companion pipe on the propane tank; twist the nut on the Mr. Heater into the propane tank. Use a wrench to tighten.

4. On the propane tank is a faucet-like handle that you turn to open the gas flow.

5. Turn the Mr. Heater nob to the Medium dot.

6. Press in the Ignition.

** I recommend checking for leaks by using some soapy water. Please do this--only takes a minute. **

7. Use a match or candle lighter placed with a flame where it says.

8. It will immediately ignite; hold in the ignition for up to 30 seconds and release.

Voila. You've got instant heat--and it's instant! To turn off, just turn the Mr. Heater nob back to Off. Also, very important, it's a good idea to "close" the gas flow from the propane tank, so just turn that faucet to the closed position.

Refills are currently about $17. Just take the tank in, and at Home Depot, the used propane tank is swapped out for one that's already filled.

It's that easy! As one reviewer noted, it's not completely silent. There is a low hiss (from the propane release), but it hasn't bothered me at all. An excellent heater.

I bought this heater to take the chill off the cool desert evenings. I use it on my patio which is not enclosed and it puts out enough heat to warm 4 people sitting around the patio table. We live right on a coastal cliff in Northern California, so cool sea breezes are a way of life. It never gets over about 72 and almost never below about 50 during the day/early evening.

We have a small deck and have looked longingly at the big overhead gas heaters, but rust is such a problem here and the space so small that it wasn't really an option.

We got this heater almost as an experiment to see if a small horizontal unit would let us sit out in the evening, where after sunset it's usually around 55, too cool to sit comfortably.

And it works! The great thing for us is it's small enough to stuff in a wardrobe until needed.

It screws onto a propane bottle quickly (in fact once I've finished barbecuing I just unhook the bottle, drag it over to where we sit and attach the heater to the top.. it all takes about 2 minutes).

The heat is good, but not what you would call particularly radiant, which is to say most of the heat goes straight up, BUT the refector does a good enough job that if we (two of us) sit reasonably close together we for sure get a nice steady warming effect with it on max.

To sum up, it does what it says and is a good option for those who want to warm an area of their porch, but keep in mind it will be a small area unless you have a fairly enclosed space which will stop the heat escaping.

I think a larger refector would do a better job for us though, and if given the chance over I would probably spend a little more to get the same make but with the double reflector.

However this is a great product and I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

The heater works as advertised. I have almost finished my second 20lb propane tank using this heater with no issues. I am located at about 5400 feet above sea level for those with concerns about using it at altitude. I have noticed that on the high setting (it also has low and medium) it tends to produce a slight propane odor. This is most likely due to the lower quantity of oxygen at our altitude, and therefore does not produce a complete burn. However, the medium heat setting works great and gets my 2 car garage comfortably warm in about 30 minutes.

I bought this item for my master bedroom, which it the coldest room in the house. It is very easy to put together, though having someone help is not necessary it makes it easier. I run it every evening throughout the night and it keep the bedroom toasty and we set the logs to the lowest setting for the warm glow. The fan is a bit loud, but not so much that it keeps me awake.

Wood and fire look totally fake! Only yellow glow. Not red and flickering like some I've seen. Heats well but no thermostat. It will go to auto but you have to manually turn it down when it gets to a temp you want to maintain. If we hadn't already thrown away the box we would have returned it. But at least the cabinet is pretty and it does the job for the price.

Very disappointed with this product!! Flames and logs are very unrealistic and disappointing to look at. The wood box and color are nicer then the actual fire and logs. The blower motor makes a lot of noise while on, sounds like it is going to fall apart and stop working. One of the fluted columns were damaged upon taking out of the box. I could overlook the wood damage if the flame and logs were more realistic as advertised. If it didn't take so long to put together and then take apart to send it back I would. The red lights on the switches are annoying. Should've went with one of the products at Lowes. Oh well, live, buy and learn. Will definitely give this one away and purchase something else in a few years. Will try to get my moneys worth. I will say, the heater puts out really good heat and the thermostat works great. Scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 2. Heater is nice. If you're looking for an electric unit, after having this one, go to Lowes!

These glow really pretty colors and are great for either a romantic atmosphere, just some fun or having a party of any sort. They are a little messy and the coating does crumble off. So, I always keep some hand-wipes nearby for wiping hands after use.

I do not recommend these for children. The chemicals are a bit toxic.

I took a chance on this product because I couldn't locate anything similar in local stores. We had received some as a gift some years ago and wanted to use them again. Well, these worked great! Overall, happy with the product and very easy to put together. Just make sure you look at the dimensions very closely. This is a much smaller table than I had expected. It is very low to the ground and the space between the two shelves is not as deep as it appears in the picture. We purchased the table for the purpose of Legos. I had expected to be able to place several Lego Friend buildings/houses on the bottom shelf and use the top shelf for building. Most of the Lego buildings fit on the bottom shelf, but barely and there just isn't enough room to "play" with them easily.

I am surprised this is advertised as a coffee table. I cannot imagine such a low to ground, small table working as a true coffee table in front of a regular sized couch.

Just check the dimensions before you purchase.

Again, it was super easy to put together. It arrived very quickly. I am considering purchasing another Furinno table for more Legos.

First I'd like to say it came by mail very quickly, less than a week (2 separate shipments) even though I chose the standard shipping. The box was a little torn up but nothing inside was damaged. I found it to be a bit of a pain to put together by myself, but it turned out to be quite worth the effort. I too left off the doors and like the look better without them, but to each their own. If you want a small decorative item to serve as a space warmer then I think its worth the money.

Do not purchase this item if you are looking for an electric fireplace that looks real. The firebox is very small. Their is only one log and the fake flames look like the side of the box is red. Below the log when light is on looks like a red rectangle. The painting done to make it look like coals does not even show. It is just a red rectangle. The fire has no realistic look at all. Looks more like a mobile light in a childs room. Very disappointed with this purchase. I would return it but I can't afford to and am stuck with this. Not even going to put in a room because it is such an eyesore. When I put my 42 inch tv on top it made the the whole entertainment center look tiny. Made the fire looks like a joke. My tv did not even fit on top and the tv stand hangs over the edge of the mantel by over 3 inches. Thought I was getting a good deal. Instead have a really thin, cheap looking eyesore. The fireplace is a bit smaller than you would expect. I beefed up this entertainment center with 2 DVD holders I bought at Walmart for less than $20 each to make the Center look larger. Don't expect your DVD player and stereo system to fit in this. The fireplace is great, but small. I love the way it looks, and the heat is great. The doors aren't predrilled on the entertainment center, so you'd have to spend a lot of time figuring out where to place the doors so they are level, so we just left them off. Overall, a decent little buy, but wish we would have gone with a larger center.

Used to paint the chimney pipe coming out the back of my stove so it would match the stove. Took a few coates, but worked fine and made everything look much better than a black stove and shiny galvanized piping.

I used this stove paint to paint the bricks inside of my fireplace. It worked out really well but be prepared for the mess of a typical paint job. It is a deep black paint and thin just like regular paint so you will have the drips etc. If you are using it for a brick job then I would also recommend buying a spray can for the same type of heat job to get all of the cracks and areas missed by a paintbrush. At the end of my project it looked perfect though so i would definitely recommend it for a fireplace job.

The only reason I gave this one star was because zero stars wasn't one of the choices. I spent an hour looking for this product, but when I purchased and opened the can, found that the viscosity and opacity of this paint most closely resembled dirty dishwasher. Even after stirring thoroughly, it was virtually impossible to tell where I has painted. I put the lid back on the can and immediately threw into the trash. In a lifetime of remodeling and building, never have I seen a poorer product.
