This is a great set of tongs ideal for car camping. It is lightweight, and folds compactly to store easily. It makes it possible to put wood on a hot campfire or fire in a fire pit, or to move logs in a hot fire around.

I would not particularly recommend it for use in a home fireplace, as there are much better sturdier tongs available. The curved ends of this tong are best suited for certain size logs, which make it more difficult to use at home than standard sturdy non folding fireplace tongs.

But for a simple, lightweight, folding, compact fireplace tongs for car camping, where it's compactness and light weight are an advantage, it's great.

This is the only tool I ever use while playing with fire. I bought 3! I have one for the fireplace in the house, one for the fire pit in the yard, and one in the camper for campfires. It will easily hold a large chunk of wood to help you re-arrange or rebuild the fire. It will also delicately hold small coals.

With the weather starting to get a little cooler I started building fires in our chiminea. In the past I have always just used a large stick to move the logs around in the fire. I thought I should use something more sturdy and found this item. Received it the other day and couldn't wait to use it so I just used it this evening. It was just what I needed. Love it!

A great old fashioned simple fire log turner. A neat suprise is that it "collapses" down. You pull the handles out like you're trying to open and it "smashes" down horizontally the handles come down to meet the part that touches the log and the "knees" spread outwards. I liked it because it made storage nice. It works just great. Not the most heavy duty item but works great for turning logs on a fire.

I personally think that this style of tongs work best. They reach well into the firebox farther and release well. These particular ones are not as heavy duty as the ones they replaced, but thet work just fine with the size of split wood I burn.

I just received this order, and a person would assume that there would be an instruction manual.. there wasn't one. Normally this wouldn't be an issue for a product as simple as a lighter. As it turns out, it's not obvious. At the bottom, where I assume a person would do a refill, there are 3 pieces including some sort of gear. These pieces fell out as soon as I removed the lighter from the box. I have no idea how to put this back together, or even use it after it is back together. This is where a manual would come in handy. I'm throwing this in the garbage as returning it would require more effort than it would be worth. There's probably information about the product somewhere online, but what's the point. This thing looks like it was made using spare parts found in someone's garage.

the written description, this was expected to be a "long" lighter that I could use to light a gas fireplace. The need to keep your hand so far along the handle for the safety switch on the device negates about 40% of the "long" value of this lighter. Also, the flame emitted from the end is very minimal. This is the most disappointing purchase I have ever made from Amazon. Do not buy this poorly designed item if you want a long lighter. Lighters from the local stores are superior in usable length.

Bought two long lites. Once received, one of the two would not light butane stream. Emailed seller who replaced that bad product immediately. Works good for lighting furnace pilot lights where regular long headed matches blow out.

A must have for the fire pit. I expected something more flimsy. It's actually pretty solid and definitely better than the cheap junk the fire pits come with. The hooked end will work to lift the cover off the firepit. The other will allow for poking, pushing and pulling without worrying about breaking it. It's nice and long too so no worries of getting burned unless you've got a bonfire going in your fire pit... But I think you've got more to worry about at that point.

I ordered this product because of the beautiful design and as a screen for protection since we have a woodburning fireplace. The item was delivered in less than a week and looks absolutely beautiful on my hearth but there is no screen. I am confused as to why it is represented as such unless I received a defective item. After looking at the picture again, I don't think it was designed with a screen. While I would not have ordered it had I known there was no screen, it looks so wonderful, we are going to keep it and improvise something behind it for protection.

I love the fire screen. Built well and solid as everyone described. I would defintely buy again but my complaint has to do with the seller. It took 20 days to arrive. The carrier (FedEx) did their part but it took a long time to get it to FedEx. When I wrote an email, I received no response from American Home Furnishing. It arrived packed well and it's beautiful. I wish I could rate my experience higher but I wasn't sure if it would ever arrive.

This as a great compact fireplace set, having all the tools you need but not taking up too much space. They also look good and are very sturdy. Great idea! I use a butane cooker to fry fish but it is hard to light without placing the match and my hand too close to the burner risking a burn! This is a short and sturdy tool. You will need to put your hand in to the fireplace/stove to reach ash/coals in the back. Some of the paint and all of the labels will burn off in a hot fire but this doesn't seem to have any effect except for a little extra smoke. I would have preferred a tool about 6 inches longer but it was not available in this style. Overall a good purchase.

At first I thought it silly of Mrs. Spudman to buy me another firewood carrier since I already had one. However, I have to admit that this one is definitely better than my replaced log carrier. I like this one because the closed ends form a pocket that contains those wood chips, bark, and bits of wood dust that used to fall on the floor when I loaded wood on the indoor rack.

I have had this bag for well over a year now and it is GREAT. Lifts more wood than i can carry myself. We fill it and each grab a handle and carry a ton of wood in with less effort and the bag handles the abuse. GREAT BAG love it.

Fortunately, my husband, the strong one, is the one who loads up the wood. But the good thing about this carrier is that it has sewn side panels so that if you aren't filling it up, nothing with slip out or "drip" detritus in your path to the fireplace. And if you want to fill it up, it's more than hefty and roomy. I can't imagine a better carrier for the price. Actually, I was surprised at the economical price.

Received this today, in 2 cartons. Put it together in about 1 hour. The top of the fireplace is heavy, and I thought I would not be able to do it by myself (I'm a 64-year old woman), but I decided to turn it upside down and put it together. Worked perfectly. BEFORE PURCHASING CORINTH ELECTRIC FIREPLACE MEDIA CONSOLE-I contacted the seller by email twice b/f placing order to get all my concerns taken care of about product features, function and shipping. Seller was very prompt in replying back and made me feel at ease in order from them (first time). Over the years, I have noticed that when shipping is offered free sometime the item is not well taken care of in transit. Not in this case, the box did show some minor abuse, but items were well packed and no harm was find to products at all. Instructions was simple, if you sit down and study it first, and all necessary hardware was included. Unless you are a super strong patient person, it will require two people to put the top on. After that you insert the electric heater in, screw it in place and you're done. My husband and I love vintage cherry fireplace. Our purpose was not the heater per se, but the fireplace itself as a beautiful piece of ornate designed furniture in our bedroom. So cozy & romantic to watch the quiet colorful flames at nite w/o heat.

I would highly recommend!!!
