Review of 6" x 20 FT Single Ply Stainless Steel Chimney Liner Kit
I needed to fix the draft of my wood stove insert. So i bought this chimney liner and installed it myself. It improved the draft on my wood stove and was easy to install.

Kozy World KWP112 10,000-BTU Vent-Free LP-Gas Infrared Wall Heater Review
Moved into a small 50's chalet in northern Michigan last fall and after being warned by the previous owner that i should get a woodstove to cure the cold feel of the place, i found this enexpensive radiant heater and ordered it. I knew that a ventless heater could cause water vapor issues and hoped for the best. Windows can be a bit foggy on cold nights but not a serious worry with a ceiling fan to move air. The forced air furnace seldomly turns on now with the heater on low setting so im sure the heating bill will be minimal. The house is now a steady 68 F Too cold for some but just right for me. Nicely built unit with no frills and a function first look but it's a wall heater not a fireplace. Great economy for tough times.

this heater does definitely heat up our little 250 sq. ft. cabin, but having an average winter in zone 6 (2013, Southern Illinois) we went through at least one, if not two, 20 lb propane tanks a week! this adds up pretty quick, didn't really save money using this versus electric very inefficient [also couldn't find any way to adjust this as any kind of usage setting on the heater itself]. the last day of a tank's use, when the propane was getting low, you could really smell the propane coming through too not pleasant at all! definitely wouldn't buy another, and will probably sell this one the first chance i get...Monday, August 4, 2014
A Prayer for my Son the Soldier (US Army) Touching 8x10 Poem Reviews
I would have given this plus 5 stars ecause the poem is so beautiful and it says just what I feel about my son as he deploys. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars, yes it is beautiful but I don't think it is $40.00's beautiful. I feel the seller is using a Mother's emotions to jack the price up on this item. This is a sad thing, it's difficult enough having your child in the way of danger and have to pay big bucks for a simple board with a beautiful pray. I wiil read this everyday until my baby boy comes home safely God Bless and keep our brave Men and Women safe!

Pine Mountain Java Log (5 lb) Crackling Firelog, 3-Hour Burn, Pack Review
These two fire logs, Java Log and Enviro-Log, have a lot in common. Both are made from waste materials: coffee grounds in one case; waxed cardboard, like milk cartons, in the other. Both advertise more heat per unit weight and lower emissions than regular wood. Java-Log asserts carbon neutrality, because its waxy binder comes from plant sources I don't know the provenance of the wax in Enviro-Log. Both advertise a 3hr burn time for the 5lb log.
They're alike in how they burn, too, whether that's a good thing or not. I had a chance to test both. I burned them, one at a time, in an outdoor firepit a steep-sided ceramic bowl about 80cm across and 30 deep. Both times, I burned the log during daylight on a metal grate with plenty of air circulation underneath, and lit them according to the manufacturers' directions. For the Java-Log, that meant leaving the paper wrapper on and lighting the wrapper in three places. I found this somewhat less than satisfactory, since only one end of the log lit. Following the manufacturer's directions, I didn't poke at it until the whole length of it was lit, which took about a half hour. Even then, the surface didn't burn evenly until, against recommendation, I turned it over, grooved side down. That seemed to burn a bit better. I never got very big flames, but I'm sure it would have been more impressive at night. Burning had a slight waxy smell. That's a big point for me, compared to the aroma of woodsmoke, because my wife's asthma worked a lot better with the Java-Log's emissions than with regular smoke. (I missed the woodsy aroma, but you can't have everything.) It burned pretty much the advertised time, but went through phases of more and less smoke as it burned. It burned cleanly and completely, unlike wood which always leaves charred ends, leaving only a cup or two of uniform, sandy ash. I assume the ash comes only from the coffee grounds, so it should be compost-compatible.
The Enviro-Log was remarkably similar, in my test. Directions say to unwrap the log, wad the wrapping under the log, and use the wrapping as kindling. As with the Java-Log, this was less than satisfactory. It lit, but rolled off the wad once burning weakened it, so I had to move the log back onto the burning wrapper. As with the Java-Log, the manufacturer's procedure lit only one end of the log. It also took about a half hour and a little turning for it to catch completely. It burned much the way the Java-log did, but with a slightly more pronounced waxy smell and with a little papery ash flying away (but caught by the firepit's screen). The Enviro-Log had smoky phases as did the Java-Log, but a bit smokier. It also burned down cleanly, but the pile of papery ash at the end was a good bit bigger than the Java-Log's residue. Since it's just paper ash it should be as garden-friendly as wood ash, but I wouldn't swear to either log's ash suiting an organic farmer.
I found the two pretty much equivalent in this test. The waxy smell meant I wouldn't use either for cooking, and they don't produce coals the way wood fires do. Only one thing (which I didn't test) left me leaning toward the Enviro-Log. The Java-Log's instructions are quite insistent about burning only one at a time, not burning other wood or fuel with it, and leaving it alone while it burns. I don't know for sure, but I suspect that the waxy binder could soften if the log overheated, possibly causing it to crumble or flare up. Likewise, the "leave it alone" order could be due to softening with heat, so that poking at it would break it up rather than turning it. The Enviro-Log advertises that you can burn one with other fuel (e.g., regular wood) in the fire, burn two together, or add additional fuel before the first log burns out. That flexibility is a real selling point, especially if you plan to keep the fire going past one log's lifetime.
In summary: they're both attractive because of my wife's sensitivity to wood smoke, and both use materials that would otherwise have gone to landfill. When burned one at a time, they behave quite comparably not a big showy fire, more than enough to cast a bit of warmth. The Enviro-Log seems more versatile, though, and doesn't prohibit many of the things I normally do with regular wooden logs.
-wiredweirdonly one log for $50+ dollars? That is insanity! That is totally disappointing. I can get 6 for this price from a different vendor.

I bought these for my enameling station. I built them up like a house and put the very hot enameled piece into it so it cools slower and at a more even heat. I also use the extra blocks for soldering. They are thinner and longer then a normal brick which makes it allot easier to work with in the way I do. They are very affordable as well, at my local fireplace shoppe they were almost double! Even with the expensive shipping this seller has. You also have to understand that the bricks are VERY heavy so taking that into consideration shipping is very fair.Monday, May 26, 2014

We bought this for our outdoor courtyard. We live in the desert, so it's subjected to intense sunlight and heat, not to mention rainfall once in a while. Not only is this piece attractive and unique, it's constructed well enough that it has held up great, since we bought it last year. I recommend this item and would buy from this company again.
musical in form and works beautifully with other items less abstract. AND it arrived in a timely fashion well protected as well. Size is perfect for the space but my size is not relevant. in the foyer it works very well. Material is solid and substantial. Others should know that it will pretty much fit into any home decor; however, it works superbly well for mine. The quality is superb.

Bought this recently and it looks great right above our fireplace. The area above the fireplace was bare and bland so the wifey wanted something there to add some life to the wall. This has really changed the appearance of our fireplace and it looks great. It comes with easy to read/follow instructions and didn't take that long to get in place.Honest reviews on Kirby Abstract Wall Art

I replaced the gerbil sized grate in our fireplace with one of these. It's a much better shape, holds wood well enough, and very sturdy. But we found the massive gaps between each bar let the wood fall through as it wood burns.
I never had issues with logs wanting to roll out the front as another reviewer has experienced, and I generally use the "fake" logs. I've used real wood too, and invariably most of the material will end up under the grate festering in the ash.
I tried putting the oven's grill grate over the top, it fits rather well. Unfortunately that melted. Oops!
I'm now looking for a replacement.
Logs are staying put. Very happy with this purchase.
Update 1/26/13. Bought this about 1 year ago, and it really hasnt held up. We have fires often (2 to 3 times a week). The rack warped in the middle. I think it is a little too light weight for our needs. If you dont burn really hot fires, or use your fireplace too often, this might be ok for you, but Im in the market for a new one now.

I ordered this to replace our old, broken grate and am sorry I did so. This grate has no middle bar to keep the logs from spilling out of the fireplace. We have to carefully place the wood in the grate and then keep an eye on it because as the wood shifts, it can sometimes roll right out and up against the screen, or worse, out onto the carpet. It is just a weird design and not a good one. Don't waste your $20 on this item, opt for a model that will actually hold the logs in.Best Deals for Panacea 15405 Wrought Iron Fire Grate, 18-Inch

The rug we had used for several years needed to be replaced. I could not find anything locally, so of course I find exactly what I was looking for at Amazon! I bought this heater for our basement, which is perpetually colder than the rest of the house and near freezing during the winter. I was considering wall-mounted heating panels, but would have to install three in order to adequately heat our ~1000 sq ft baseement. This heater has proved to be a good choice overall. Here are the pros and cons:
Pros:
-Adequately heats large area (1000 sq ft basement kept at 66 F at 30% power)
-Lower power consumption (haven't noticed any jump in my power bill from using this)
-Cool to the touch even after hours of operating--the only part that gets somewhat hot is the vent itself on the front of the unit (totally safe for our young children and cats)
-No odors like kerosene or other space heaters produce
-Small size takes up very little space and easy to position anywhere in the room
-Portable--unlike wall-mounted heaters, this will easily move wherever you want it (this even has wheels)
-Simple operation--just three buttons total (included remote nice, but not needed)
Cons:
-No digital thermostat--although it was easy to figure out what setting keeps our basement at the right temperature
-Slow heating, requring about an hour to heat up a large space (I just leave it on continuously during winter)
-Circulation fans inside the unit make a mild noise, though not severe (can easily hear TV over the heater)
-While not bad-looking, its appearance is better suited for the basement or family room than next to fancy furniture (they have heaters of this type with wooden veneer that would probably work)
Despite some definite cons, such as no digital temperature reading, this is the best heater available based on its capacity (does the job of three smaller heaters) and low power consumption. If having a digital temperature control is a must, you could get an outlet thermostat (such as Lux WIN100 Heating & Cooling Programmable Outlet Thermostat), but I just leave the heater at a setting of 2 or 3 out of 8 and it does just fine through varying outdoor temperatures. Our basement is now a nice, warm play area for our pet and children thanks to this heater.
Build quality: EdenPURE. The Duraflame noise is not so much the fan, but the whole unit. Put a heavy book on top of it and the
Noise level drops. Put carpet under the casters and it gets a bit more quiet. The unit just has more rattles.
Noise Level: EdenPURE, because of the above.
Heat/Funtionality: They both work well, both housings stay cool to the touch, so this is even.
Looks: EdenPURE looks a bit better once you see them in person. On the web I thought the Duraflame looked better.
Warrenty: EdenPURE.
The Duraflame works well at half the price, and they really are meant to supplement the whole house heating system, not work by themselves, and in that regard they work well. If the temp stays above 45 or so they can more or less handle the floor space they advertise all by themselves.

My husband and i bought this heater to heat our kitchen/dining area because we only have one source of heat, and that is a coal stove that is all the way at the other end of the house. The coal stove is plenty when the temp doesn't go below the 30's. But when it gets down into the 20's, teens or negatives, the coal stove just isn't enough! We had tried one heater before this and it just didn't work well enough so we sent it back. We live in a large log cabin so we needed something that was going to heat a large area. This duraflame heater works! The staircase to the second story of our house is also in the kitchen/dining area and this little heater also keeps our upstairs comfortable. I love the fact that we don't wake up freezing anymore when we have to get my 5 year old daughter off to school. The first thing she does when she wakes up is plop down in front of it. She loves it! I also like that it's cool to the touch so i don't have to worry about our dogs burning their coats if they get too close to it. Thinking about getting another one to heat the other half of the house and get rid of the coal stove. lol I would definitely recommend this little heater to a friend or family member. :)Best Deals for Duraflame 1500 Watt Quartz Heater, Black, 8HM1500
I ordered this product to heat a block garage that is approx. 600 square feet. We use the space for band practice. It works so well I now use it inside of my house. I was told by several people that a portable heater would not be enough but this one is. It is cheaper to use than the kerosene heater that we were using, and helps out with the home heating bill. After 3 months of research, both on the net and locally, we've settled on this fireplace and boy, are happy we did.
It's solidly built (Made In America where else?), VERY efficient and heats up our large living room (converted to home office) in minutes. It's easy to maintain and clean (has a built-in ash compartment), good looking and easy to feed....
So much better than our den built-in fire place insert that came with the house when we bought it...!
and was promptly shipped to us. I would reccomend it to anyone.

I now have to pay an arm and a leg to get it and have it installed. Very frustrating. All parts needed should be attached to the main item. No problem paying separately, but a person needs all the parts. So will write more later as I don't know how good it is as I am still waiting for the pipe.
